I'm very pleased with my jazz, very comfortable and surprisingly loud for a passive. Will you get the same price if you visit? I'm not sure.

My CIJ jazz is quite neck heavy, but thats maybe because the body is surprisingly light - the whole thing weighs less than my Vintage Stingray clone.

does anyone know a good resprayer/refinisher in the midlands? I have a CIJ 62 Ri jazz bass that I bought from OldGit and I wondered how much to restore its 3 colour sunburst glory. I'm happy to strip it down/sand it back to save money. Also does anyone know if its cellulose paint or not?

further to my post above, you dont metnion whether you are playing sitting or standing, or what model you have. I have found that playing sitting down, having the bass on your left leg, with that leg raised (like a classical guitar player) makes it easier to reach.

I was playing a Stingray clone, I now, courtesy of OldGit, own a Japan Fender Jazz Bass and the problem has disappeared. I would suggest you have a geometry problem - the angle that your hand is extending to the bass, or the thickness of the neck, are giving you pain. I changed bass and the problem went away. I think my problem was worse because I have quite short arms, but the jazz bass configuration was the answer to exactly this problem.

its nice to see one up north. I'd love to go, but I am very put off by the prices. £20 seems steep.

They have to collect, or pay to collect and you can even charge them for storage if you incur costs.

thats very good of you. I will still take a jazz bass off you if you have one, or can get one reasonably quickly. are the prices and stock availability (once ordered from FJ) still as the GE website?

I saw a mint one of similar vintage in black go for £230 last week and that one [i]was [/i]mint. As far as I can recall, I paid about £239 in 1989. Mine isnt mint, or totally original. There are 17 watchers though, so its attracting a lot of interest even with 4 days to go. Swapper hasnt got back to me yet.

my Strat is a 20 year old (japanese) Tokai in tobacco sunburst with active electronics. I'm happy to trade but dont want another bass with a chubby neck as I have smallish hands. I was going to buy a Squier VMJ with the Ebay proceeds from the Strat for this reason. Anyone have an opinion on the Warwick neck dimensions? Other [i]minor [/i]issue is the swapper lives in Essex and I only go there occasionally but thats not insoluble.

I'd like a jazz bass (mainly for the thin neck) but been offered one of these instead as a swap for a Strat. Not sure what model, but it has active mec JB-style pickups apparently. any opinons/thoughts/experiences to share?
