1. I'm reporting you for posting pornography on this website The LX-4 is m dream bass. Even more so in the black cherry finish. Nice purchase dude, i hope you really enjoy it!
2. I use a rack set up usually but take pedals with me if it's not feasible to take my whole rig. Out of my pedals, if I had to keep 2, I'd say Overdrive and Chorus which both happen to be the MXR Zakk Wylde guitar pedals. They work really nicely on bass too. Just wish MXR would do their own tuner pedal so my OCD would calm down a bit!
3. They do have a very "vintage" sound to them. Great pickups as well to be fair! And on that note, SOLD!
4. Here I've got for sale a set of Seymour Duncan SPB-4 Steve Harris signature precision bass pick ups. I've had them fitted in my practise bass since they first came out which has only been used for home practise and a couple of recording sessions. No wear to the pick ups, basically like new and still boxed too. Only selling because i've decided to get rid of the practise bass and just focus on my 2 main basses and proper bed in on those. These really are great pick ups. This set were the 2nd set I bought as I already had another set in another bass and loved them so much. Really high output but not so much that they distort your amp. Really clear highs with plenty of mid range and low end to them. Punchy! Think of the power and clarity of the SPB-3 quarter pounder but with out that brittle top end and with more punchy mids to it just like the SPB-1/SPB-2. Best way I can think to describe it really is to say it takes all the best parts of the SPB-1, 2 and 3 to create one amazing pick up. Come with the screws and wiring instructions. £40 + £5 postage Thanks for reading
5. Up for sale is a pair of Seymour Duncan SSB-5 bass guitar soap bar pick ups. I've had them in my bass for a couple of months now but have decided to try some active pick ups in it instead. They're a direct passive replacement for EMG 40 series pick ups like the 40P, 40J and 40DC as well as other pick ups like the Nordstrand big singles/doubles and other 4 inch soapbars. Dimensions are 4 inches by 1 and a half inches (EMG 40 size). The wiring is pretty much fresh on them as i only used 5mm from each. Due to the long dual blade magnets, these accommodate anything from 4 strings up to a narrow 6 string. I had them in a 5 string Spector Legend for a month or two then had them in my 4 string bass for ages. They will come fully boxed in the original box with wiring instructions, mounting screws and foam. Condition is 9.5/10 due to a small spot where my fingers have rubbed against the top of the casing. Nothing noticeable. **Gone!**

Chorus?

I have owned several chorus pedals and have found the Boss CEB-3 to be the best and most versatile one on bass. I'm currently using the MXR Black Label Zakk Wylde chorus pedal and it rules but the CEB-3 has a real edge over it. -edit- using the MXR because i don't have a rack chorus for my bass rig yet and the MXR is on my guitar pedal board
8. The pick ups in my bass do seem to be quite low volume, would it be worth throwing one of these in there to boost the volume up a bit?
9. Definitely overdrive, probably a sansamp BDDI (or RBI if he's using rack mounts) and either he's adding vibrato to the note or he's got chorus going on with it. Apart from that, just crank the mids to 75% and have the bass and treble around 50%. Playing with a pick will really help nail that punch too.
10. I use an iRig plugged in to the headphone port of my Macbook Pro which I run Ampltiude on. Works a treat. I also have the David Ellefson Rock Shop app on my iPhone if i can't be bothered to set up my Macbook. Again, i just plug the iRig in to it. I want to get that AmpKit app as it has cool Ashdown, Trace Elliot, Gallien Krueger and Ampeg sims on it (Ashdown and TE ones are licensed with real names) that sound awesome but it's too expensive. The David Ellefson one is free and has a couple of cool options.
11. I need that both in and around my face/rig... That thing sounds beautiful!
12. This is now gone, please, no more messages. Mods please lock and all that good stuff
13.
Thats very interesting!
The QP neck provides a real punch but the STK-J2b will provide a nice, smooth sound on the bridge but it'll also cancel out any hum you'd get from the single coil QP. It's a real nice sounding combo
14. I'd go for a stacked STK-J2b in the bridge and a quarter pounder in the neck position, you'll thank me for recommending that
15. Nope, not for me. Think i'll just find a T-Bird body on eBay/here, spray it metallic blue, stick a Maple P neck on it, stick a badass bridge/chrome pick guard on it and go from there. Not expecting Gibson to offer that as an option but seriously, they need to offer more than "sunburst thunderbirds" to us bassists.
16. The MIM 96 and USA 98 sound identical. The USA 77 has a lot more growl in it and is definitely my favourite of the lot, really love that tone. The Japan 95 sounded a bit too dark for my liking but I still liked it more than the 96/98 MIM/USA models. 1: USA 77 2: Japan 95 =4: Mexico 96 =4: USA 98
17.
* petit
I should really my posts before i post them on my phone. Auto correct changed it from petit to petty... haha
18. Oui oui mon petty pois! (i've exhausted my full french knowledge there!)
19.
I have a DS1 clone and its pretty good, would like to get one geared more towards bass, preferably one that keeps the low end a little better and a blend. Anyone know of any?
You could do a resistor swap in it and boost the low end?
20. Hear me out on this... Boss SD-1. Yes it's a guitar overdrive but it sounds amazing on bass too. I used to use one before I got a Behringer BDi21 and a Sansamp RBI. You lose a little bit of bottom end but that can be sorted by adding a bit more bottom end on your amp. You can usually pick them up for around £20 too! I had two of them, one for guitar and one for bass. Sold one though and kept the other when i got the BDI21, now I use the SD-1 with a Bass Big Muff and heavily modded Dunlop GCB95 wah for "bass solos" if there is such a thing
21. Iiiiiiiin 2! Here up for grabs is a Maple P bass neck! Not an official Fender one but fits into a P Bass neck pocket like Michael Jackson's fingers in a... GLOVE! (dirty sods...) Condition wise there are a couple of nicks on the top end of the headstock and there are drill holes in the back of the headstock for Hipshot HB-2 size tuning pegs and for what I believe is either HB-1 or HB-3 size tuning pegs. I've used the Hipshot ones in the description so you can gauge what layout they are. Personally, I had a set of chrome HB-2s fitted to it which are now on another bass. The neck has a nice rosewood skunk stripe down the back, near perfect frets (couple of small string marks) & standard 4 neck bolt holes. It's also got a thick lacquer finish which feels so damn nice! (i prefer the feel of lacquered necks) One thing to note is I think the previous owner must of had a Fender P Bass waterside logo on it which they removed because there's an "ageing" shadow from where it was. It's barely noticeable. GONE Thanks! -SmallDawg-
22. I'm so tempted to take this but I need to buy a bass head! i've got some Seymour Duncan Steve Harris pick ups that would go perfect in this AND a high mass bridge! Is there ANYTHING you would be interested to take in trade? maple P bass neck? Dimarzio Will Power neck pick up?
