  2. Thanks everybody, I've contacted kiOgon and we're now in discussion!
  3. Oh! Thanks for that, I'll give him a shout!
  4. Hello! I'm currently modding a Sunn Mustang (NOT an FMIC model) and need to replace the tone pot but I can't decide whether or not to replace all of the electronics. If I'm going to the trouble of replacing the pick-up (Bill Lawrence EB60-PC ready to go) and the tone pot, should I just go the whole hog? If so, what are people's opinions of circuits and what do they recommend? Thanks in advance, Gareth
  5. I have a 1980 Peavey T-40 for sale. It's in fairly decent condition but hasn't got the original saddles. I've tried my best to source some but it hasn't come to fruition. I've had it about 3 years and, when I picked it up, it was in a pretty sorry state. Someone had fitted a non-original machine head and another was bent. I've replaced both of these with originals. It had a BadAss II bridge which I've replaced with an original but, alas, was unable to pick up the saddles. I've replaced the selector switch as, again, something awful was there that didn't even work. I replaced a very damaged scratchplate with an original. With it being natural, it's got a few minor bumps and scrapes and the finish has come of the edges of the fingerboard in places (all shown in the photo's). These things are incredibly versatile and have a very unique circuit, are totally rock solid, US built and sound great! I probably paid over the odds for it (my own naivety) considering the state it was in, I've spent a bit of money and time on it (which makes it hard to part with) but I know what these go for and I need it to go so, price includes delivery. I'm not looking for trades at the moment as I don't know what I want/need. I fancy a fretless or maybe a short scale, who knows!? Thanks, Gareth
  6. I've recently bought a Sunn Mustang and it's almost identical to Immo's Encore. Same colour, headstock, pick-up, inaccessible truss rod, string-tree. The only difference is the name on the head stock, SUNN Mustang and a little 'Made in Ind a' (missing the second 'i' for for some reason). I have also tarted it up a bit and discovered that same wood type in the neck pocket. Must be the same factory! I'm searching for a SUNN Mustang FMIC now as I've become totally obsessed by this stuff. I've paid thousands for basses over the years and am so, so excited about my £40 Sunn, it's ridiculous! I always viewed Encore as a piece of rubbish but my head has now been turned!
  7. That looks fantastic! Keep us posted on the pick-up/phasing issue, please.
  8. Ha! You're probably right. I might just do that and see what happens!
  9. Thanks for responding it's very interesting. There seems to be so little information on them considering that they were licensed by Fender and that they still own the 'Sunn' brand. How does it play? Also, I had a Fenix Jazz and pretty much gave it away. I kind of want it back and might get back in touch with the guy. It was a decent bass and I really regret it!
  10. Dave, Is it ok if I join in and ask about your Sunn Mustang? I've got one but mine has a different logo on and looks more like a traditional Fender Precision. How old is yours? Do you have any info on it? I'm trying to piece the history of these together but information is scarce. Much obliged!
  11. Not much to say....it's chrome and has been used. I took it from a Peavey T-40 to put an original back on the Peavey.
  12. I've had a coupla Overwater basses, Fender deluxes, Fender re-issues and StingRays. I've still got an '88 StingRay but my 'go to' bass is an '05 MusicMan SUB. I've got a T-40 that I want to sell and might sell the '88 Ray but I'm replacing it/them with a Sunn Mustang that I've just paid £40 for. It needs a good clean and I'm replacing the white plate with something else but apart from that, I don't need anything else anymore. Although I am drawn to expensive Fenders/Overwater, I know that I'd still be unhappy with something on them. The SUB is basic but has a great circuit and, in white, it looks fantastic! Classic StingRay tones for less than half the cost.
  13. I had that 5-string made a few years ago! Glad to see it still in use and great condition. I love the Original shape!
  14. Gutted to see these both on eBay with a massive price increase...That's happened to me before and broke my heart.
  15. Would you be able to tell me how the controls work on the P-bass?
  16. Just sold Nick a Dearmond Starfire. He payed promptly and was a great communicator. Great doing business with him! Cheers, Gareth
