1. I'll update my listing! Thanks for the info, there's not a lot out there about these basses.
  2. I've measured my bass and it's kind of about 30.5" but the link below says otherwise: http://www.njaz.com/guitars/starfire.htm I measured from the nut to the twelfth fret and doubled it.
  3. HELLO! I've decided to part company with a red 90's Dearmond Starfire. It's all original and in pretty good condition. It's 30.5" (short scale) 4 String, currently strung with flats (I can't remember what brand) and has that great 60's thing going on. It's just that that 60's thing isn't really my thing! There was a crack to the finish between the fingerboard and the neck but I had that seen to by Overwater and it definitely has no issues. The case I got with it, however is a guitar case with a slot cut out to accommodate the head. I was going to buy a proper case for it but didn't get around to it. For this reason, I'd probably like for it to be picked up/meet half way but could possibly look at packing it up extra safe and sending it via a courier. I'd be looking for around [s]£400.00[/s] £300.00. Gareth

  5. HI! I've been kind of watching that site and I've managed to pick up a couple of things from www.classicandcoolguitars.co.uk Mark from that site has been very helpful! Cheers, Gareth
Various spares for the T-40 come up for sale on this website once in a while...
6. Hi Eric, The tuner? Some joker has fitted a fender clover type tuner for the 'g' string! I've absolutely no idea why! It's currently fitted with a badassII Bridge, I have an original but need some saddles. I can wait for them though. Where can I get a phase switch? I'm haven't much knowledge of the switches and want to make sure I get the correct one for the bass. It's a 1980 model. If you have spares, I would certainly buy one from you if you were prepared to sell. Cheers, Gareth
Hi. Welcome. Saddles. . . . Mmmm, not so easy! Tuner, What it wrong with the original? Switch - easiest of all requests. Easily got, if you struggle, I've got spares. Come back to me. Cheers>
Bass DI

Hey! Thanks for all of the feedback. I've managed to track down a cheap m-80 and I'm gonna give that a whirl...If I'm not sure, I think I'll have a go with the Aguilar. The EBS MicroBass looks cool but quite pricey. As does the Radial BassBone. Does anyone have any feed back on the BassBone?
  8. Thanks to everyone for watching and being interested but the bass is now sold!
  9. Hello!! I bought a T40 a few weeks ago but it needs a bit of work. It's a 1980 model toaster with maple neck. It's absolutely great, properly worn in but I'm looking for a few pieces for it, if anyone can help?! 1. A set of 4 bridge saddles 2. A machine head 3. A phase switch If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. I'm not unleashing it until I've got it tidied up.
  10. Martin has bought an Overwater J5 Fretless from me and it has been an absolute breeze. Prompt payment and a top guy! Cheers Martin! Gareth

Hmmmm....Thanks for all the input! I wasn't aware of the EBS or Hartke models...It's more to think about! More research required, I think.

    Bass DI

Hi All! The way things are working out for me at the moment, I've realised that I really need to look in to getting a bass di/effect unit. I've been thinking about it for quite a while and was only really looking at the Sansamp models but I couldn't make my mind up as to which of their models would be the best unit and/or the best value for money. However, to put a spanner in the works, I've discovered the existence of the MXR M-80 and the Aguilar Tonehammer and am now truly stuck. I'd really like some honest opinions and reviews on these if possible before I go and spend my cash. I'm currently using an '88 MM StingRay and a LittleMark II, if that makes a difference? Cheers, Gareth
  13. Replied! Gareth
PM'ed. - martin
14. I most definitely will. If I've still got it!
Could you please please drop me an email if you still have it in a month! Would be really interested but working on a cruise ship at the moment. Thanks Email: [email protected]
15. I know what you're saying, but it is time to let this one go. To be set free and played like it should be played!
Yeah you should stick with it! I always used my Marleaux fretless five as my main bass, twas mega versatile and with an ebony board theres nothing from stopping you slapping it too! If thats your thing . Looks like you may have a sale ^^
16. Why not give fretless a go........?
Damn, that thing is absolutely beautiful. If it was fretted, that would be sold and it would be in my hands as we speak
17. Hi! I've responded to your PM...
Pm
18. Thanks for the bump, Schnozzalee! You've made me feel a bit guilty about selling now though. Should I stick with and make the fretless my thing? It's the second one I've had but, even though I adore the sound, I just can't it going in any projects I get involved with. It deserves to be 'out there' not 'in here'!
This and that GB Spitfire should be gone, more players need to get into fretless on this site! Next to no learning curve and far more fun to play; there's more depth to your tone and if you don't like the Mwaaaah flick it to the neck pickup and theres still a significant improvement.
19. Hi Matt, I'm not really looking for trades...unless it blows my mind! Thanks for the bump!
Not interested in possible trades at all? Amp wise..? You never know, always worth asking! Nevertheless.. bump for a stunning looking bass!
