  1. The idea was that you could slap with your thumb and hammer/slap with your pinky in the rubber bulb. Leaving your fingers free to pop/pluck. Doubling your slapping speed…
  2. Around 1999/2000 I went to a huge music show in London (I can’t remember the venue now) but remember trying out a few different basses and things and ended up buying a Bass Hammer (?). At the time, I was mad into Flea’s style and bought this thing as it would enable me to slap with both my thumb (as usual) and my pinky in this get up. Anybody else seen/got one? Anybody ever mastered it? I certainly didn’t 🤣 Any comments welcome! Gareth
  3. Ah, ok! I understand now. I saw a medium scale Jackson bass on there that looked a bit over the top, tbh.
  4. What's the deal with this Essex Studios? I've seen a couple of things being sold by them now and didn't think the prices looked horrendous? Are they to be avoided?
  5. I think I'll just leave it alone and weigh up my other options. Thank you all!
  6. That does sound like far too much hassle for me. Thanks for the guidance!
  7. Yeah, I wasn't totally sure about that. I'm don't think I could be bothered with all that aggro! Thank you for replying!
  8. Ah! Has he now… It’s not you, is it?
  9. Does anybody have any experience with this guy/these basses? Looks nice but ridiculously cheap for hand-built. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-built-fretless-bass-guitar-4-string-30-/164984438942?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
  10. Please excuse me if there is already a a thread on this but.... Has anybody tried replacing the neck on 34" scale with one of the retrovibe 32" scale necks? Was it straightforward and did it work? Thanks in advance!
  11. Ah, ok! Thanks for letting me know! I'm after a short or medium scale fretless.
  12. Edirol (by Roland) midi interface for recording vocals, guitar, bass, etc. on to recording software. I bought it when I was in an electro band and it's hardly been used. I can't remember how to use it or anything! I'm a live guy and haven't the first clue how to record stuff!
  13. Electro Harmonix Graphic Fuzz can be used as a fuzz or a graphic equaliser un-fuzzed. Has distortion level, dynamics and sustain levels and a volume as well as the equaliser function. Runs via 40v dc power supply (included).
  14. I have a black one and it's superb! I'd love the pink one...

  16. I hadn't considered that AGENTE BUT I'm not to sure that I want too either! I'll discuss it with my pals at Overwater!
  17. Thank you, Ikay, I'll look into this!
  18. Oh! It's only a little bit of dive but I did try it with a nylon strap. I'll try it with a different one. I am going to replace the machine heads with Ultralite, that's for sure.
  19. I've just bought a Squier Musicmaster (vista series) and, although it's lovely and playable, it has a little bit of neck dive which bothers me. I'm replacing the machine heads with Hipshot Ultralite but was considering replacing the bridge with a high mass version. Does anybody know if there is such a thing or an equivalent or is there a thread that I can be pointed in the direction of? Cheers, Gareth
  20. I'm the original owner of that bass but I had a custom hard case built and a Protection Racket gig bag that fit it perfectly, what happened to those? I sold this in about 2006... I think! It's a beautiful bass!
  21. John sent my kit out really quickly, I've had it installed and it sounds amazing!! My battered old Sunn Mustang is now complete! Thanks John!
  22. I've just picked up my P-bass loom from John and I can't wait to get it fitted. Very helpful and efficient gentleman and I greatly appreciate all he's done! Cheers!
