Ah come on Waldo, don't be harsh! I'd play like that if I'd had 16 pints too
half a pint of shandy more like.......
I'm sorry. I did not realize you were the arbiter of all thread topics. I'll check with you first next time.
That's the most sensible thing on here today. Well done!
A thread about a non thread. LOL!
Sometimes it's just best to read and learn.
-
Unfortunately, a few members jumped on it as trolling, baiting, stirring up crap and what not and I just didn't want or need the animosity.
If that's the case then they're very naughty boys (and girls) and should go to bed without any supper.

Not to worry. The Beatles thread is still going strong
I'm sorry I missed the original post. This is a relatively free and open forum, and find it a shame you felt the need to remove it. However reading some of the responses without the context of the original topic is quite amusing
The responses are good whether you know the context of the original post or not. This is the most amusing thread for ages on here and i can't begin to tell you how happy it has made me. Priceless!!!!!!!!!!
Awwwww man! Thought the Pastorious Police removed the thread and now I can't jump in cause I'm late and it looks bait! Aghhhhhhhhhgh!
It's never too late. just my 2 cents worth .............. Haha
Awwwww man! Thought the Pastorious Police removed the thread and now I can't jump in cause I'm late and it looks bait! Aghhhhhhhhh!
You thought wrong by the looks of it. You don't have to 'jump' but you could still say what you wanted to say. Can't really see your problem.
Great posting, thanks for bringing up an interesting point of view. I'm gonna flip my 2 cents in soon!
......or maybe not that soon
Weekend World aside , this thread has reminded me just how grim television was on a Sunday back in the 1970s . There was mainly religious programmes of one kind or another on for most of the day on all three channels . It was dreary beyond belief , unless you had a thing for Thora Hird ( I didn't ) . Wasn't part of Nantucket Sleighride used for World In Action , too ? That was on ITV on Monday nights at about 8 o'clock . Mondays were grim , too .
Sunday was great for TV. CHiPs used to be on in the afternoon just before The Big Match. What more could anyone want?
No idea if this has been posted, too much fighting, but this looks interesting http://www.bbc.co.uk...rammes/b01qnrb8
Head, wall, head, wall, head, wall...........................

I've loved the posts from those taking the moral high ground on both sides of this. I like reading them out loud in an authoritarian voice and make out i am also one of our moral guardians. I'm sure it cleanses the soul.

I'm not really sure why i answered that question as i can't stand Mike Oldfield. His sodding Tubular Bells gets right up my nose and every girl i knew in the 70s had this dross in their record collection.
Cool. Apologies for being a cock.
No apologies needed. By the way i've just been listening to the cd box set of the Beatles U.S. LPs!!!!
Just before this thread gets locked inevitably as every thread over the past month has, to be quite honest I'm just a bit bored of the haters. What I'm saying is that you've offered no insight at all that bolsters your opinion that the Beatles have had no lasting influence on popular music at all. The evidence is very much there to prove that your opinion is flawed/wrong/whatever, it's why thesis's and countless books have been penned almost in an effort to understand the meteoric speed at which they were able to not only output music, but cast a vast tsunami of influence over decades of music that is still just as relevant as it was 40 odd years ago. Unfortunately i've risen to it, and got more than a little pissed off over nothing, so I should apologise for that at least, I am admittedly a stubborn, stubborn bastard at times.
It's been a really lively debate and it just shows how passionate we all are about music. The Fabs were a phenomenon and as i said used to rush over to Twickenham Studios after school to see them while they were filming there. As i said it's been a good thread and a bit of fun and we may all agree on a thread one day (blimey, that'll be boring!) and as Albert Ayler once said "Music Is The Healing Force Of The Universe". Happy listening to whatever music turns you on!!!!
Yes, there's a cat. The ultimate diversion for wives... hehe
Does the cat do this.....................? http://youtu.be/aq6JtnAT6jU
In the dim & distant I once went on a bus-tour of Wolverhampton & surrounding areas which featured a taped commentary by one N Holder of Walsall. He took the P repeatedly & not always in a banter way, however in mitigation for the busload of fans and some soon to be ex-fans.... 1) We were pissed 2) It was raining & there was nowt else to do 3) We were kids and knew no better, 4) Where we came from there was nothing worth travelling to look at in the same way. 5) We were very pissed 6) We later admitted it was a fairly sad thing to do.
Now that's a trip worth going on. Did the coach driver come out with the old Noddy Holder joke about him trying on a suit in the 70s in a shop in Wolverhampton and the the tailor looking him up and down and saying "kipper tie?" and Noddy replying "yes please, two sugars".
That confirms to me what a complete f***wit you are
Is a complete f***wit superior to just a run of the mill f***wit?
Have stopped reading the thread but the coachloads visiting Paul's house evidences the fact that they are overrated. No-one is worthy of that nonsense.
You've probably upset a few on here now who are eagerly checking their coach tickets.
Blimey, that makes the 40 pence i paid to see David Bowie at Kingston Poly an absolute bargain.
I still think that 40p to see Yes at the same venue was a bit steep. Now what was that about over rated bands......................
