1.
Vulcan princess or journey to love for me.
'Vulcan princess' is on 'Stanley Clarke' (self titled 1st LP)

 3. This reminds me that i saw Stanley Clarke & Miroslav Vitous do a Bass duo about 30 years ago at the Bracknell Jazz Festival . It was amazing. Anyone else see them do this this?
 4.
Romantic Warrior and Light As A Feather are my two faves.
Sorry, just edited my post before seeing that.
 5. I'd start of with the self titled album and School Days but would also try to get a Return To Forever cd as well. Return To Forever's 'Romantic Warrior' is a good place to start.
 6. Anyone know if the OLP Tony Levin was available as a 5-String only or did they do a 4-String version?
 7.
I haven't got a clue... WHAT to do.
“Does anyone know the way, there’s got to be a way To Block Buster!”
 8. The listing says 'great condition, plays sweet'. Does that mean you can only play Little Willy, Wig Wam Bam, Hell Raiser etc on it?
 9.
It was a pleasure watching a friend of mine Phil Mulford playing bass for most of it. The other bands that weren't the house band were hit and miss musically but it was a nice idea.
I'd like a quid for every time i'd seen Phil playing over the years. He always does what a bass player is meant to do. Great player!!!
 10.
The version of Please Please Me was awful and embarrassing to watch and listen to. It was so bad it had me cringing. The young girl who sang A Taste Of Honey was good.
Totally agree with the version of Please Please Me being awful. I don't think that i've ever heard a complete song by the Stereophonics but thought they were excellent. Really good singer and played in the spirit of the Fab Four. Great effort!!!
 11. I thought The Merseybeats version of Boys was the highlight. Not over arranged like most of the others, just a great version in the spirit of the time when it was recorded. They were there after all so if anyone could capture that spirit they could. Great stuff!
 12.
Well.. as far as influence : I think I have an argument which you don't have. I'm Flemish speaking and I learned English through Beatles records (I sat down with the red and the blue double album and started typing and writing the lyrics down and looked up the words which I didn't understand). I wouldn't have learned my English as quickly if they hadn't been around. It may be very normal to you but imagine that The Beatles were a French band and you would have to learn that language to understand them, then you would be in my world.. Consider yourself fortunate that you had this amazing band which you were able to understand..I couldn't in the beginning. I sang "Sheladooyeah yeah yeah"..
Don't worry we had problems like that too. I spent a lot of the late 60s trying to work out what Jacques Brel was singing about. Then it all became clear when Rod McKuen, Mort Shuman & Scott Walker recorded English versions of Brel's songs. Then i found out that some weren't actually exact translations and it all became very unclear again.
 13. Just watching the ARENA: Brian Epstein Story on BBC4 and had to chuckle at the Lennon quote when asked about what the Beatles thought about their music.....'we don't analyze it, its not worth it'.
 14. Jim Fielder. Just playing great bass......................................... http://youtu.be/isnbyS5Q0zE
 15.
Not interesting. But what's better: The Beatles or BetaFunk's avatar?
I could argue on my avatars artistic merit as to why it is better but in keeping with the way this thread seems to have gone ...........BECAUSE I SAID SO AND THEREFORE I'M RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!
 16.
So, at the ripe old age of 49 I've got my biggest gig so far - not massive numbers but some very credible names on the bill including Martin Carthy and Sid Griffin. There's hope for us all http://www.solparty.org.uk/index.html
That sounds a right good weekend. Wouldn't mind a bit of that myself. Have fun, it's sounds like it'll be a good 'un!!!
 17.
I can honestly say re the last video that I haven't seen or heard anything quite like it. Seems an enthusiastic sort of chap though. Quite like him
Yes, i don't have any problem with him and you can't fault his enthusiasm.
 18.
What some of you don't get, is that Andy is the typical Warwick USA buyer. He looks like he just stepped out of an engine shop, is slightly overweight, hi- fives everyone, is on the winning team, has those chops and has dispossible income to buy one of these monstrosties. Perfect marketing by Warwick
Very good point.
 19. I wonder if this will make you all go out and buy a Warwick Triumph? http://youtu.be/-7f3XTby1a8
 20.
Lennon sang what he wrote, Macca sang what he wrote. They both donated songs to Ringo. George sang what he wrote.
I now have a vision of Ringo wandering the corridors of Abbey Road Studios shouting 'Songs For The Dru-mmer......Any-one Got Any Songs For The Dru-mmer' in a 1960s London newspaper street seller type accent.
 21.
Fat Freddie, running through the streets of Moscow wins all avatars on Basschat.
'A friend in weed is a friend in need' as Freewheelin' Franklin may have said.
 22.
I am amused at the comments about Lennon and Maccartny's solo stuff when much of the later stuff was written by only one of them.
Which one?
 23. I bought a Squier Bronco a few years ago (i wanted a cheap short scale bass) for £88 new. I know that they've doubled in price since but it's a decent, well made bass. No complaints at all. I agree with the post above. If you get a good one then they are fine.
 24. That really looks nice!!!
