I'll attest to the quality and feel of the necks on these - I had a US JO and the neck was superb - silky, fast and incredible feel all the way up (superb carving and attention to ergonomics)
  2. I had a chestnut topped MG5 - it was a thing of extraordinary beauty but the board was simply too wide for me. I keep looking and hoping that this has been sold...I'm starting to weaken...
  3. I've lusted after these for years and what a beautiful and unusual example. How does it balance on the knee (and on a strap)? I've had a few Status Streamlines and whilst they're great on a strap, they're not so easy to use in a seated position (unless one wears a strap!)
  4. If all original, the circuit will be Fender's first proprietary active 2-band that was designed for this model. It's a powerful, if slightly hissy, unit and has some very usable tones - it can be by-passed for standard passive operation
  5. That looks to be in gorgeous condition! What's the weight - I've owned one and played loads - most were (seriously) unbearably heavy?
  6. Completed a fantastic deal with Jamie - he was incredibly helpful throughout and communications were excellent. Payment was instantaneous. Most highly recommended as an upstanding pillar of the BC community
  7. Somebody needs to jump on this quickly - outrageous price IMO - I can't believe this is still here. The equal of Celinder, Sadowsky, Alleva etc at least
  8. Thanks all for the interest and very kind words - now sold (in well-under 2 hours!) pending payment
  9. SOLD pending payment. Absolutely stunning Shuker PJ 4 in gloss black with all black hardware. Basic details: JJ Burnel recipe body Maple neck with beautiful Birdseye board and brass nut Extraordinarily figured headstock veneer Sadowsky active with VTC DImarzio (Sadowsky spec) P&J pickups Nut width 1.45" - neck precisely modelled from Sadowsky Will Lee and incredibly slim, fast and playable Weight - just over 9lbs (precise weight to come) Condition - almost as new - some minor swirling on scratchplate and very minor swirling near J pickup Supplied with as new (just one slightly sticky catch) Shuker branded Hiscox case Stunning bass - incredible action, playability and versatility. Pro set-up just before Christmas with D'Addario 40-100 nickel rounds (and new battery!). Collection in Manchester or I can ship in UK (at cost and at purchaser's risk). Genuinely very regrettable sale but I'm only realistically playing short-scale. No trades thanks and the price is firm - this is a bargain IMO - looking at Jon's prices, I'd say this bass would be very well North of £2k if spec'd new. Better images when there's some light
  10. I think that Promenade Music have an AER Amp One in stock at £899 - maybe worth calling? I've found the Amp One to be fairly unique in terms of functionality and tone - it's almost unbelievable, especially when pushed. I can't re ally comment on customer service, though I've heard both very good and very poor for AER
  11. Nudge to the top
  12. I can't add a link but this was previously advertised by jimijimmi on 5th August - images included - a beauty (and an excellent price in my opinion)
  13. A relatively inexpensive way of getting a Fender dot and bound neck (one of my favourite looks)
  14. Love these - incredibly elegant shape and gorgeous finish
  15. Despite the time of year, I'm surprised this has lasted 'til evening - absolutely lovely
  16. Hi Billy Apple, I'm in Ashton-under-Lyne - the end of the tram-track out of Manchester (about 6 miles to the East of the city and just off the Motorway)
  17. Every Fender type bass I've owned (and that's a lot - some of them were even Fenders) has had a dead spot somewhere between B and F on the G. Some of the basses have been extremely expensive boutique builds too. Only the Allevas seemed to be relatively immune - massive paddle headstock? Changing strings (brand, gauge, tension) tends to move the issue slightly in my experience. I only ever find it a very minor irritation though - for me it's not really an issue in most band situations. I know there's a lot written about dead spots - and various attempted solutions (Fatfinger?) - for me, it's just a part of the Fender design
  18. A US Spector for just a few quid more (less in some cases!) than a Euro. It would be hard to lose on this one (I think)
  19. Absolutely beautiful - the guard is gorgeous
  20. Even with the price in $, not too far shy of £4k with tax and shipping! Lovely!
  21. 'Simply confirms my opinion of Martin's work - perfection!
  22. Absolutely beautiful! I've only owned one NYC Sadowsky but it was lovely in every way (and had a lovely passive tone). Are Roger's quoted prices in $ or £?
  23. Just a little nudge to the top - and thanks for comments and information. Please feel free to contact me by PM if you'd like to come over and try this (I'm about 6 miles NE of Manchester City centre and just off the motorway)
  24. Absolutely unbelievable price (IMO) - I'm selling a US Spector Shorty on here and thought that it was the best value bass on the site. I have to admit though, it won't be until this sells. I'm genuinely stunned that this is still here
