1. So, could I ask a technical question about these cabs? If I add a 12 Ohm version of the Retro Two10 to a Gen 2 Barefaced Compact (8 Ohm of course) - what would the resultant impedance be? I saw on one of those online calculators that it would be 4.6 Ohms. Is that right? Would seem sort of ideal if that's correct? Also, and I have no idea about this ....... each of the cabs have two sockets. Is it a case of plugging the amp into any one of those on one of the cabs and then running a cable from the other socket in that cab to any one of the sockets in the other cab? And if so, is that called running them in parallel? And does it matter which cab goes first? How would I know these things?
 2. Clearing out all of the bits in my Dad's music room that he doesn't want or have space for any more. Some new, some used. First off, a new and unused genuine Fender (still with the plastic covering on) pickguard from USA Standard Jazz Bass (2012 I think). £22 posted. And here is a new and unused genuine Fender (still with the plastic covering on) pickguard from USA Standard Telecaster (bought new in 2014). £22 posted. Here's a tort pickguard originally from a USA Hot Rodded Precision. It's not new, but in good condition. Comes with all of the pots, knobs and the socket - although I'm not sure any of it is genuine. All working fine. 3. I think there might be feet on the opposite side to the handle too?
 4. I'm drawn to this for some reason. Never seen one before - had a look about them online. I guess it'd be a completely different animal to play - but how does the actual sound compare to a Fender P or J?
 5. Do you have experience of Fender necks? is this a P-Bass club or a skinny J-Bass neck?
 6. The lack of pics is extra-ironic, given your username.
 7. It's a good price for a neck thru. Weight is alright. Bit suspicious of the stock pickups. Might be worth a go.
 8.
13th May
I figure you must have this by now? If so, any review or pics?
 9.
... Oh and they sound different.
If you play either in a pub band, the audience wouldn't really be able to tell which one without looking.
 10. My initial thought is the person who wrote the add didn't put too much thought into it - busted blurted it out. That's neither a good nor a bad thing though.
 11. I can do Reading. Not too far from there. Might pop in and check at those TKS things.
 12.
".....at the expense of everything else ....."
Hmmmm. Did I say that? It's a factor. Don't go getting all upset if I don't agree with you.
 13.
If you have the budget for Barefaced I'd also check out Vanderklay cabs.
Those are heavier. You'd have to be 5'2" and under 8st to understand that.
 14.
...... the TKS S112 is the one for you to check out. .......
They are very pretty.
 15.
No definition? I'd look at the way you've eq'ed the amp. I've played my Thunderfunk through 1 and 2 gen2 Compacts and IME you get out what you put in.
Well, I had a sound engineer on the case for me for 20 mins or so. He tours all over the UK and Europe with that band and others. The main bass player uses in ears so it's no so much of an issue. He reckoned I should get one with a tweeter - or use two, one on top of the other, to bring the sound up to my ears. Maybe I should get one of those little ones to put on top? I'm not changing the amp - sounds great through everything else I put it through. I have been taking it to rehearsal rooms all over the place with different cabs of all kinds. Allows me to get a sound quite quickly.
 16.
........ But it seems ok with the Ashdown Head ? .....
I didn't use an Ashdown head. The bass guy uses an ABM 900 thing into two separate Ashdown 4x10 cabs. I plugged my RH450 into one of them. Sounded real good ...... but I couldn't even move it an inch never mind pick it up and carry it.
 17. I'm thinking of finally getting my own rig. I've got a TC Electronic RH450 but I don't have a cab yet. I played few numbers at my Dad's soundcheck at the weekend. His sound guy lent me a Barefaced 1x15 - Compact I think? I'm sure it was a 15" speaker and there was no tweeter. It said Barefaced on it and looked like a lump of coal. It sounded great with the RH450 on my own, but I couldn't pick out the individual notes I was playing that well when the drums, guitarist and vocals were added. It was really loud - didn't need more than 1/3 way round the dial (and I like to play loud and punchy). It pulverised the room, good-style, but no matter how I twiddled, I couldn't get the clarity I wanted. I switched after a couple of songs to the bass guy's 4x10 Ashdown (still with the RH450) and it was much better. Not as loud for any given setting - had to use 1/2 the amp's power rather than a third. I think they were both 8 Ohm things. I could hear all of the notes more clearly. Trouble is, the Barefaced was light. I could carry it. The Ashdown .... no chance. I need to look at light things. Maybe a Barefaced with a tweeter?

 19.
Oh and Jennie, Please do not lick your guitar like that (Profile Photo) there are aging men on this forum who might spill their Earl Grey tea on their slippers. At our advanced ages that can really ruin your Mojo before a gig. Also unless you use flatwounds thats gonna hurt if you keep doing it.
..... ok. Old men and their innuendos disgust me. So now changed.
 20. I'd like a small, powerful, high-quality combo as I'm only little and struggle with heavy gear going in to gigs. It's not just weight though. At 5'2" you find that big things are difficult to manoeuvre. So where can I actually try these things?

 22. They seem to have an odd product development strategy. Same as the 69er one when it was launched. Most normal companies will create a prototype and take some pictures of it - or maybe a few prototypes and send 'em to reviewers etc. This lot appear to create an imaginary product, ask people to buy it in theory ..... even when they haven't designed parts like the grill. And then, make you wait much longer than you thought for delivery. I saw someone on here saying that this is what you expect for custom builds ........ but this isn't a custom build is it? Baffling (sic).
