I have never tried the Genz....but a few people have them on here. Im sure you will get good reviews of both.

Wasnt expecting such a bad response! Never mind ay. I actually dont mind stuff like this, then again I like basically anything. I agree this is in no way real 'emo'...before the commercial side of music got a hold of it emo was quite a dirty and raw type of punk....now its just a joke....its not meant to poppy and easy listening rock. I quite huge fan of more of the early 'emo' or whatever its called; stuff like Appleseed Cast, early Jimmy, Cap N' Jazz, Get Up Kids and the USA Embrace (not the sh*t UK Embrace)....etc etc. TBS are just an alright rock band.

I love the tone of the AG with the GS and more so the DB Aguilar cabs. They match very well. Perhaps a 4 ohm 2x12 or 2 1x12.

Even though this guy might seem like any other rock bassist, he is quite well reknowned, and I have got to say I love his bass playing and his style. Some nice runs, some nice thump, and some nice gentle overdrive. Im presuming thats a USA Fender Jazz...perhaps he has Jaco'd the plate himself and just took it off, or its a fretted Jaco Jazz....if they even exist (maybe he had a custom one made). Is it even a Fender? Near the end you get a close up. I know he uses USA Fender Jazz's and Alleva Coppolos normally. Thanks - I am basically turning into a Jazz fanatic.

Thanks for all the information. I definitely need to have a long think and test a few out. It has to have Jazz-ish pickups....which includes the TF...I love how the P pickup sounds, then the single bridge cuts and barks.

Gave it a proper listen. Asked my girlfriend to play the vid in different order so I didnt know. My 'tastes' went for the Aguilar and Bergs as my type of tone. But..I do agree we all have different tonal goals. I think I like top end sparkly a lot more than I thought. Some prefer it really fat and smooth. Ive gotta admit, wow at that Sadowsky....that is one special bass sound. Im gonna have to take a look at them.

I dont have the best speakers at work, but id say, for me, the Bergs hit the sweet spot, then the Aggies. They all sound good to be fair! Ill have to listen with proper speakers.

Yeah, with Fretless I want to stick to warm and slightly punchy, not glassy and trebly. I think it suits the whole sound of a fretless more, and gives it a sound much more like a double bass. Hi guys Im looking for a nice pedal that can add a little 'active' spice to my passive instruments every now and then. Not only that, it would be great to have DI functions. In addtion, if it has a nice overdrive, (not cheap sounding, nice and fat and chunky) then that helps. But, which of these three is best? I know the Aguilar TH has all the features I want....but is it a good pedal? I've never tried the Sadowsky, I would like mid-control so Im not sure of that. Tech 21 VT is just the grit really...nice grit, but not sure itll benefit me. What you guys think? Im preparing a new GAS list right now

I'd like to try one out.

Im all about vintage styles...we already established that! So...im after a lovely fretless. I borrowed a friends Squier recently, and I really enjoyed it. But, Id like to buy my own, and invest in quite a nice one. It'll no doubt be a Fender, unless anyone can suggest a tradtional style jazz thats as nice as a Fender and isnt ridiculous in price (eg over £1.5K). I'm loving the Tony Franklin, because it offers P warmth, with the J pickup on the back, and an ebony neck! But, its basically order it in, and not test it out. The demo vids look cracking. Or, its a USA Fender Jazz Fretless, but I didnt want fretlines to be fair. Any other Jazz basses? I know there is the Jaco one, whats that like? Cheers for your expertise.

I'd love to get into playing weddings and other functions. Shame my neck of the woods is totally dead for bands like that....Ive definitely got the skill and the equipment....and the patience, I just need an experienced set of musicians.
