  1. Love the Grabbers/Rippers!
  2. I would have kept my other 2 Rays, stupidly sold them. Saying that thought, the new Rays I have are stunning. I should have never doubted the Ray.
  3. That sunburst is stunning! Seriously stunning.
  4. Ah got ya! Yeah I'm interested in a Bongo but I think I've got enough for the moment
  5. No offer showing here, just the new 70s MIJ P. Have I mis read it?
  6. Pete - even the Genz engineers have stated the 3.0 and 6.0 have a high pass filter to stop unwanted low end into the small compact shuttle cabs. Boosting bass will help, but the 9.0 doesn't have the shelving set like the 3.0/6.0 It was designed like that so they didnt blow up the small combos! Clever idea really. The 9.0 isn't drastically different but wow, the Streamliner really is an amp to be reckoned with. Full meaty bass tone, even with the bass dialed down.
  7. LOL. I think most 1x12s will struggle at some point. I think I could actually gig with one as its only acoustic guitar/drums/vocals then me....but which 1x12 is another mystery.
  8. Was you using the Shuttle 6.0 with the bass on the Ray full? I know weve discussed this before but if you put the bass on full with a Ray, say through the Rh450/750, Streamliner, or LM3, it really is insanely bassy. The Shuttle 3.0 and 6.0 have a hi pass filter so they dont damage the small cabs/speakers they are mated with when it comes to the combos. Obviously you can dial up bass etc, but it might be why you can go full tilt with it....although some people might just do it anyway!
  9. Agreed. Usually I think things look small, then I order one, and its larger than I expected and defeats the object. My RS210 is quite small (ish) so I think the Club cabs or NY cabs would be my best bet.
  10. I dont think ive gone out just randomly, but, temp changes have affected my basses mid set (eg cold outside, come in, tune, play for 30 mins, it goes slightly out).
  11. None of the combos have a tweeter control, but I think all of seperate cabinets do. I would like a very small light 1x12 for my current band, but no idea if ill actually go for it. At the moment, the PA monitors do the same thing if I use a DI pedal.
  12. The same as me...years of thrashing on a Fender P with a heavy pick, playing stupidly fast punk, and breaking strings, means I have quite a heavy hand. Im getting there though, and barely play with a plec now.
  13. What you getting to replace it GAF?
  14. Just been scouting the net. WOW, is guitarguitar super pricey! 2EQ Stingrays...some shops doing them for £1129 (these are the gigbag limited colour versions). They were £999 before Xmas. GuitarGuitar price? £1299. Crazy. For such a massive company, they will struggle at those prices.
  15. Brilliant basses....cant see the pics at work...damn work!
  16. PS apparently drop D mode is coming as an update for Polytune soon.
  17. Its a great pedal (Polytune). Slick, small, and the polytune mode works very well. I was more than happy to move on my TU-2 for it. For a start, it looks better!
  18. Hmm, I havent used it at very loud settings yet. Just fiddled about with different cabinets. It does have a lot of low end, but as yet I wouldnt say it was too boomy....id say it had a very very thick low end. Even my RH750 gets boomy if I use a cabinet (rear ported) too close to the wall. Not saying you did that, obviously! I need to give it more of a test drive. I have a few long gigs coming up, and another new band that want me to join in October, (luckily they havent just started out, I dislike the 'new band' situation!). I had the bass on 10 ish. Mids 2. Treble to taste. That's with a Stingray which has a lot of low end available anyway.
  19. I think all my new basses still have these in the cases. No idea if its beneficial, but if they are stored like that with say Fender for a year or so, dont see why not.
  20. Great news!
  21. If any store owners/workers can do a Basschat deal on a Fender Jazz/MB LM3/Tech 21 VT Bass V2 and match/beat GAK, im quite happy to shop with the specialist/smaller stores. Im buying within the next few days...so let me know haha. The items will all be new, not ex demo.
  22. I intend to start using whatever shops I need to as I want to find the right Jazz. This may involved using returns services, etc... I have been emailing GAK and found they respond pretty fast and with great prices. They have also offered to get new products and not ones on display.
  23. Well, at first I really liked it. Quality/build is, IMO, much higher than the Shuttle series. It feels more solid, more like the Markbass amps. I then had a period where I didnt use it, and missed my LM3. Because I hadnt used it I thought about returning it. I had 3-4 hours with it this weekend, and now I like it more than I did when I first heard it. It definitely feels and sounds like a high quality studio tube-pre...very warm, very crisp. It is VERY loud. Very. Now Im going to source a LM3 to use as well, as I cant sell/return this, its too good!
  24. They do, although I think now their 12s are quite varied. Ive always fancied trying their cabinets.
