  1. Congratulations! You've gone fully Berg (well nearly, just need a Sandberg bass๐Ÿ˜) Can't wait to hear it in action and also to get your thoughts on whether your Mesa M6 could now be relegated to back-up amp... It does look great!
  2. But you're missing the crowning glory of the throne, surely?
  3. And TI flats, right? Although both PJs, it should then be quite a different beast to a Yammy BB 1025 with nickel roundwounds (well at least that's what I'm telling myself to justify the spend ๐Ÿ˜)
  4. Not really an issue, I think all the folk who like that combo are due to be burned at the stake so the problem should go away pretty soon ๐Ÿ˜
  5. I can see that you and me are going to get along very well ๐Ÿ˜ Yeh word on the street is that Warwicks were (are?) a bit of Spector rip off, but probably no more so than everyone else who found "inspiration" (aka design right theft) from good ole Leo...
  6. Shared by @Quatschmacher - nice demo of a Sire P7 in action. Obviously would have been improved if he had a B string to rest his thumb on...
  7. Now Elvis' tone (unlike the Daleks'), even in his final years, was still truly magical. R.I.P.
  8. Now for the important decision of black or silver knob hardware upgrade on an antique white bass with tort PG...
  9. As you say... ๐Ÿ˜
  10. @Cosmo ValdemarI was never really a fan of the Dalek tone. Lacked low end and a touch boxy in the mids. But hey, I suspect none of our audiences would notice...
  11. In which case, you really do owe Sire to get that second bass then. Suggest you return your Yammy BB 435 and get a P7 (after you have tried mine out, of course) ๐Ÿ˜„
  12. How did you wangle that?! Or did you simply order an extra one?
  13. Noooooo! Don't do it Andy! There won't be enough firewood if you are going to be joining me, Sylvie and 4000 at the stake... ๐Ÿ˜ PS tbf if folk describe that BB as brown and not orange, you won't be able to complain.
  14. Looks like you, me and Sylvia will be plenty warm when we get tied to a stake and burned. The irony is that it will be by folk who think relic'd basses are classy. ๐Ÿ˜
  15. But I guess I can't complain: I spent a while discussing the P7 model with Andertons and then the guy offered me a discount based on V7 pricing and managed to send out a V7 rather than a P7 before I spotted what he'd done. Happy ending is that they're going to swap the basses to get me the P7 I was after but stick to the discounted price they had given me. So apart from the slight inconvenience and delay, it's not a bad result!
  16. Speaking of V7s, here's "mine" complete with gig bag...
  17. NO Silvia. You've missed the point. No matter how elegant, balanced and good looking a bass may be with white and gold hardware it's just wrong. FACT. No point arguing about it or having a different point of view ๐Ÿ˜‰
  18. Ok. Gold looks better. ๐Ÿ˜ Or more to the point just as good.
  19. And then you will say in response to that... You're like a married couple, you two. Lol!
  20. Nah. Nathan's white NE2 is iconic and, come on, it looks stunning. It's a beautiful, balanced design. But heh, some folk think orange is the new black (cue pic....๐Ÿ˜)
  21. He was just a bit pis*ed off that Nathan was able to play the bass and sing at the same time (I find it hard enough just playing the bass), but someone had obviously nicked his drum kit.
  22. Speaking of NE2s they really do look completely crap when they go for white with gold , far worse than turdburst, don't they? Can't imagine any self respecting bass player touring with Eric Clapton or Phil Collins would ever be seen dead playing one. Amateurs eh?
  23. The pub was a fair bit busier than either we or the pub landlord were expecting. He'd had a decent duo in last week who unfortunately (particularly as I'd made the intro!) bombed. Made us both appreciate the importance of the rhythm section! Overall a good night, tonight, and probably more Fridays to follow at the venue once CV has blown over. Felt a bit poignant having a drink with band mates after , 'cos it may be our last gig for a while ๐Ÿ˜”
  24. First Central London gig for tomorrow night cancelled. Our local East End regular pub gig still going ahead tonight and one in the diary in 2 weeks' time at the same venue with my other band but doubt they will be able to fork out for bands over the next few months if punters are staying away, so tonight could be our last one for a while.
  25. Congrats - and welcome aboard the Yammy BB club! It can be a slippery (and often inverted) slope once you're on it, but you've started fairly near the top. Did you just pick up the one that was in the FS? Having had a P35, I know what you mean: they really are a great bass! What is it about the P34 that you're finding gives it the edge over that bass 'hall of fame' you've just listed?
