  1. Thanks Wilko!
  2. Gently. Don’t force it as I did😢 btw, Adrian hasnt responded to me yet. I sent him a couple of emails but only have the general email address. Does anyone know the best number for him? Ta.
  3. Would agree. Check out Johnny Long’s run through. I was very keen on this but too far from me and shipping was complicated due to no hard case. I am sure this will be so much fun to play.
  4. Thanks both. Appreciated. I always thought you tightened truss rods clockwise but I guess not. I wonder if I was just unlucky ( as well as being a numpty) with the neck. They are quite a soft wood so must be prone to more movement? Has anyone else had problems with low action consistent across the fretboard with Elwoods? Such a shame because as everyone says, the sound, feel, look and quality for the price is great. I have emailed Adrian. Let’s see if he has the Christmas spirit. .
  5. So here is a tragic story. Acquired a lovely Elwood from this site about a year ago. Action has never been right. Mid to upper positions appreciably higher than first position. I hate that. Neck isn’t straight. Truss rod tightens anti clockwise and was already maxed out when I bought it. Bridge saddles can’t go any lower. So being the idiot that I am, I took the neck off yesterday, loosened the truss rod then re tightened and, bang, the nut came off with an inch of rod with it. ? I will contact Adrian tomorrow, I guess my options are limited to ordering a replacement neck unless miraculously someone can fit a new nut as the break is so close to the nut..unless it’s a welded unit. if anyone has any experience of a situation like this, knows a great fixer in the London area, knows what the nut size is, or has bought a replacement neck from Adrian, I would be eternally grateful for any advice you can provide. These basses have a lovely sound and nice feel so I do want to sort unless economically stupid. Thanks, David
  6. I have one, the neck is fantastic on mine. As Bassassasin said, if the money is right, go for it. I paid 400 which imo was slightly above market but these don’t come up that often unless you import from one of those Vintage Japanese websites. This specimen should cost you less.
  7. If I didn’t already have the same bass without the mods, I would be snapping this up. Bargain. Out of interest, what year?
  8. Seen this in the flesh. Amazing bass. Plays beautifully. Christian is a gentleman - only issue is he has brilliant basses and he lives around the corner - can't be good for my wallet. Haha. GLWTS. David
  9. And then I woke up. Haha. Bass like that was never going to hang around. Oh well, maybe next Christmas.
  10. Wow indeed. Want it. Need it. May even sell my keeper Wal pro to afford it.
  11. Just to say I have one of Mark's 6 string basses, and the neck and electronics are indeed amazing. Mine was unfortunately fatally wounded in transit but I patched it up and enjoy it in the privacy of my home. Good luck.
  12. Hi, being more precise the scale is 32.5ins and the string spacing is probably more like 18mm. This was custom made for Rick Kennell (Happy the Man). It can be heard on their album, Crafty Hands, I think. Thanks. David
  13. For sale or trade, a 1999 Rick Turner Renaissance 4 string fretted. Serial no: 1062. Thin line/chambered body 18v Timberline system Hipshot D tuner 32 inch scale String spacing 17mm at bridge Weight 4.5lb! Comes with top notch Ameritage hard case (retail price 447 USD) Condition excellent. A few small scratches and indents on back and sides some of which will steam out. No fret wear. Needs new strings but I will add a set of used TI Acousticores. I am the second owner. I bought this in 2003 when I was in New York. Quite rare over here. A new one would set you back c. 3000 dollars. The Bass Gallery just sold a 5 string fretless version. It was listed at £1500. So imho, this is another David1711 bargain. This is high quality and the sound is amazing. Deserves to be recorded with. I am only contemplating parting with it because there is a bass on here that I want and I already own too many. If that goes I will likely withdraw so if anyone is interested you need to move fast. Located near St Albans. Thanks for looking and as before, sorry for the rubbish pictures. David
  14. Hi I pm'd you yesterday.
  15. Superb. Just acquired a JB5 v2 which is quality, so I can only imagine how good this luxury range bass must be. Good luck.
  16. UPS affiliated couriers come and collect from your home. All you need is to get a quote, agree price with buyer, get some cardboard, bubble wrap and brown tape, and bobs your....and with a hard case, no sweat. Blades are fantastic instruments. £500 is about right. Should fly out the door. Good luck.
  17. And the date of manufacture? Thanks.
  18. I have the exact same bass without the preamp upgrade and it's brilliant. Great value for money. Good luck.
  19. This bass is now on hold until Tuesday. Thanks, David
  20. Amazing and an absolute bargain. Did you take a knock on the head with all that construction😆 Good luck but you won't need any.
  21. Hi, this bass is on hold now until tomorrow. Thanks. David.
  22. Thanks. Just have to work out how to find that database.
  23. It is indeed. Must change my prescription. No 913. Now if I can only fathom out how to locate the database on Statti, I might be able to identify it! Thank you kind sir.
