Just a quick note regarding the pickups, they are not the later SCN pickups you state but the Noisless Vintage that were put on the slightly earlier model yours is & IMO are the best Jazz pups out there. I had one of these, an 02 QMT & it was absolutly fantastic on tone & build quality, loads of tone & headroom with the 18v 3eq & also very light at 8.6 lbs. Only reason for selling mine was I had 2, my other being a Custom Shop Deluxe & thats a keeper (also with the Noisless vintage pups). I bought my QMT several years back s/h for £1100 & gave it away for £840. Good luck with the sale & whoever gets this will be a very lucky person.
Cheers Heartbreaker, my bad, I just copied the blurb from a website but I'll bow to your superior knowledge as far as the pickups go. I always assumed they were SCN. It's a great Bass and I think £800 is a very good price for it and is priced for Basschat members. I'm putting it on Gumtree for a ton more. -
If you've got £230 to spend, I can thoroughly recommend a set of Velvet Garbos. Nice, light, responsive strings with a great sound but not cheap....
£230 for strings ?

Bass Lines That Everyone Recognises
PURPOLARIS replied to Pete Academy's topic in General Discussion
I'm thinking surely they must know these two but it depends on your definition of the man in the street. White Stripes - 7 Nation Army U2 - With Or Without You -
That Shuker is sweet!
Thanks, yes it's a great Bass, it's got led fret markers running down the side as well which is great for darker stages. It really is my one Bass (for now) :-)

Mine's on it too

I normally have a laugh if it's me and the same if another band member cocks up. Can you add "Have a laugh" to the list of options ?
well looks like im the first to say that im a member of both brotherhoods then. Its funny though using this comparison. As I honestly feel the same kind of co-operation and helpfulness on here that I expect and have found from the brethren in any lodge I visit. That really is a huge compliment to this website and all members who subscribe to its rules and regulations and just the good folk in general.
+1 to the above.

I've totally cut down on how many basses I have. I've got these two and a few other cheaper ones now. A P-Bass Copy and an Ibanez Artcore. I thought I'd share my Jazzes with you. The Fender hardly gets played these days as I've moved onto 5 string but it is a lovely guitar and I can't bring myself to sell it although I could be tempted to swap it for a Bongo V. The Shuker is a great 5 string for someone like myself with smaller hands as it's a 33" scale and I just love playing it. Anyway, here they are
errrrr I say this is "NOT a Fender", I say this is a "Pbass copy" how can that be evasive, I'd rather you kept your 2p to yourself thankyou.
Here's my 2p There's a million P-Bass copies out there ranging from £40 upwards. It's reasonable to ask which bass this came from.

Welcome to Basschat. I'll be in Japan at the end of the month for a week, unfortunately it'll be all work no play. I might try and have a look at a few music shops and see what I can pick up. The exchange rate isn't great at the moment though.

Wow that looks great, I love white guitars (says me who's got two red ones) I might get a set. I wonder what colour would look good with my Red Shuker (rosewood board). I've got a set of blacks on my Jazz (also red but with maple board) which look good but I fancy something different.
I am tempted by the SansAmp - would you be willing to deliver this (mainland UK - NW of England) and if so, how much would it be for P&P?
Postage isn't a problem, I'll wrap it in bubble wrap and box it. I would imagine around £8.00 to post, I think that's what I paid for it.

AKG wireless lead system
PURPOLARIS replied to davebass66's topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
For sale is my AKG WMS40 SR40 stationary receiver.... I have had this from new for 4 years....it was a bit of a spur of the moment purchase due to the band i was playing in at the time being very energetic. Included is 1 SR40 stationary receiver, 1 input bug, 1 power supply unit, 1 sidepart (this is the plastic cover for the input bug, there were 2 but one has been misplaced), 1 screwdriver. has both balanced XLR output and unbalance 1/4 inch jack output. This is a fantastic system which is just not getting enough use from me anymore.. The system is ideal for those in lively bands and it is actually very liberating not to have a lead attached to you! the range is good, being able to go about 10 metres away from the amp before you start to get latency. (could be more but i've never gone further)! Sound Quality is great, there is adjustable squelch on the back of the unit to make sure you get interference free reception. There is also an adjustable volume on both the unit and the input bug. the unit is extremely light so as not to add too much weight to your rig. The unit is no good to me anymore as i tend to do sessions or function band work, both of which seem to frown upon bass players running about! No instruction book (can't remember if there ever was one) but you really don't need one. It is all pretty idiot proof tbh! The unit can be rack mounted if you have a 19" rack but i never tried that. Collection preferred, but am willing to post it. Postage costs will be added. Looking for £65 ono for this. get in touch if you want to know anything else.... Dave
PM'd -
Just sold a Spector NS5-XL (you know the one, redwood burl) It turns up with its new owner with a hum on the (u-retro) mid pot and a mid stack knob that's out of true. I honestly didn't see this before selling and the bass didn't have a hum. Previous owners don't appear to have noticed either issue. Whilst the buyer has been an absolute gentleman (even offering to pay half towards any fix - declined of course), it's left a very bad taste indeed. I've got to cough up for repairs (at unknown cost) and have the hassle of trying to sort a repair at distance. No more shipping basses for me! I'm thinking of knocking it all on the head and going back to the basses I had when I played for cash twenty years ago. Could be some tasty basses up soon (but you'll have to collect, pay in cash and sign in blood to say the bass is perfect!) I'm sure I'm not the first but the hassle when something goes wrong is not good at all
I had the same problem with an amp head I sold. It was working perfectly when I posted it, I ended up paying £70 to a repair shop to have it fixed. Not impressed and will never post anything electronic again unless feedback is left first. (not that I sell a lot on Ebay now anyway)
