It's a bit of a private language isn't it? . They've been pretty crap since Mark 'sacked' (ie assaulted) the band in New York in 1998 and Steve and the other decided they'd had enough. I used to have a massive discrepancy between the music I enjoyed listening to (Wire, the Fall, Talking Heads, Gang of Four, etc) and the music I enjoyed playing on my bass (the usual Jaco/Stanley fusion/funk stuff). The people who put the two together - ie played lines that I really enjoyed covering - were Norman Watt-Roy, Colin Moulding, Foxton, Dave Allen and Bruce Adamson. It's hard to take Graham Lewis from Wire too seriously because he was so pompous. And I'm not convinced that Tina Weymouth actually wrote many of the Heads lines, but could be wrong. Oh and the bloke from the Bunnymen was pretty good. I used to love playing 'Rescue' which had some funky little moments in it.
Do you mean Barry Adamson?

Pretty sure that the recommended relief for Rics is almost flat.
There's a gorgeous story about Ted Nugent firing up his colossal touring rig in the studio, hitting one apocalyptically loud chord, passing out and falling backwards to the ground. As he lay there unconscious, the feedback was bouncing his (semi-acoustic) guitar around on his chest. The engineers found this hugely amusing and left him in there for some time before grudgingly pulling the mains power.
Ted Nugent: friend of animals everywhere...suicidal animals that is.
He was the good guy.
Well if you can say that a guy who had a fetish for wearing Nazi uniforms and collecting Nazi memorabilia, was the 'good guy' doesn't say much for the rest of the band Don't stop me from loving the Stooges though.
Anyhoo, what about this - a 3m guitar cable for £120 ? I've bought quite reasonable guitars for less. Any bass that doesn't either have a J, P or archtop shape. Call me old fashioned but a bass should look like a bass.

It's cliquey, over the top and full of total geeks who piss their pants over, it would seem, almost anything ...but yes, i am a member...don't post very often though...mainly because i can't be arsed and the fact that the latest discovery of a Jaco bass doesn't really do it for me...prefer this site as you guys are more 'real' to me.
