  1. I appreciate a jazz 🙂. I have played different brands, mexican mades and american mades etc… always felt good with one. A lot of my influences have played jazzes, like Jaco, Geddy and Marcus etc 🙂.
  2. I used to own a ABM 500 head and ABM 410 cabinet. Very durable gear that would get my trousers wobbling for sure! 😆 In the end, my back did not appreciate how heavy they were though, so I switched to mark bass gear instead. GLWT 👍
  3. Hi Petey. Indeed! Great pedals. I believe DOD found 3000 original chips. So the reissue is the same. But it is also better because the controls are easier to understand, the casing is smaller and it can match the originals sound… and some more! 😁 I have always wanted to make music that moves people… in this case, literally! 😆
  4. As I mentioned before, this is perhaps less of a deal for some, but a consideration for me. I suppose the larger nut width is ‘traditionally’ speaking, as the first version and split coil update had this. It was not until the 60s when jazz necks started to show up on them, like you said 🙂👍.
  5. I was about to say the same thing! After years of coming last, I was so surprised. But given the current politics of the world, one could assume this to be the case 🤔 War, huh, yeah, What is it good for?, Absolutely noth…[vinyl scratch]… coming second in the Eurovision! I do not mean to make light of war of course. All the best to Ukraine 👍.
  6. For me, a single coil pickup [original or split] and body shape are the most obvious. But there are other details such as a larger nut width, that is perhaps less of a deal for some, but a consideration for me 🙂.
  7. Sad but true [like what I did there!] 😉. Especially on the ‘...And Justice for All’ album. We all know how obscured the bass was on that album 🙁.
  8. Spinal Tap trying to get their heads around streaming! 😆
  9. SKOM was close, but spinal tap II might just do it 😆
  10. I do not mean to make light of the dead, but this is incredibly apt, given that a running theme within the band is that their drummers keep dying! 😆
  11. Yes. It could be a great chance to poke fun at modern [band] cliches as well as the current industry and such. No old material. Although it could be funny if they referenced the original here and there. There is still a lot of cliches from the original that are still relevant and hold up today 😀 OR They could do the whole ‘old men out of touch’ approach to the film. Which could give way to lots of new material. Music via the internet these days and such 😀
  12. Agreed. Cliff, Jason and Robert are all exceptional players. I have always enjoyed Roberts ‘Infectious grooves’ period too. Some great funk coming from him during this time 😁
  13. Metallica! lol. I would actually be curious to see that. Out the way trujillo, here comes ‘the hook’! 😆
  14. Metallica! lol. I would actually be curious to see that. Out the way trujillo, here comes ‘the hook’! 😆
  15. Toots for me! ’54-46…’ was the first song that I learned. Never gets old 🙂
  16. James Jameson would be proud! 😆
  17. I know what you mean. The price of bass strings is getting mental. I might have to start boiling my strings instead! lol 😆
