1. Cheers 'outsider70' and 'Kevin Dean' for your feedback! Where can I find out more about this rack kit? I can't find anything on their website
2. Hi everyone. Hoped I could pick your brains please? Any feedback on the Ashdown ABM-500RC EVO III Rackmount Bass Head? I'm currently using the Ashdown ABM-500 EVO III Bass head (standard wooden sleeve), but it ain't half took some knocks on the road. I want to buy the rackmount version so I could case it within something alittle more sturdy. Just wanted to double check that (apart from looks) there isn't any difference between the two in functionality or sound is there? Kind regards. Greg. P.S - If any of you could recommend any cases for it, then that would be great also!
3. Thank you to all for your feedback, appreciate it! I have taken the advice from 'gary mac' and dropped an email to John at rotosound. His was very helpful in his reply; and is sending me a replacement set plus another 100 single. Very professional. I'm pleased!
4. Cool. Thank you gary mac. Might just do that! Kind regards. Greg.
5. Hello fellow Rotosound users. I've been using rotosound's for years- I favour the 'SM-66 Swing Bass 40-100's'- and I've never had any problems until recently. The previous few sets that I have purchased have all come with a dodgy E string- it sounds woolly and feels dead under my fingers (like its already been used!). So I started to buy them from another store; things were going ok for the next couple of purchases, but the set I brought this morning (again!) has come with a dodgy E string! Has anybody else had this trouble recently? Cheers.
6. I had a feeling that might be the case lol, cheers tayste 2000- appreciate the feedback! Is there anybody else out there who can shed some light on the FZ-5? All info is appreciated!
7. Hey. Come to pick your brains again please? Any info is appreciated. A friend showed me a youtube video (demoing the FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz). I instantly fell in love with the sound, especially the ‘FUZZ II’ option! I got super excited until my friend explained that the FZ-2 has been discontinued for somewhat over 10 years now aha. He explained that the latest alternative to buy is the FZ-5. Just wondered how the FZ-5 compares to the old FZ-2? Does it give similar tones? Here's the youtube video btw... 8. Awesome! Thank you ratman, appreciate the feedback! I will most defo look into the standback then!
9. Thank you for your feedback Gillento, appreciate it! Yes, I am aware of both 410's; I have been informed that the CL series is not that good though, and (not to mention) being way more expensive! Thanks again Chris b, thank you for the feedback also; that answers that one then
10. I know, doesn't get any cheaper does it? lol. Cheers Grenadilla, appreciate the feedback! Anybody else out there that would like to shed some light on the 610? All info is appreciated!
11. Mmm, certainly looks interesting Thanks Musky, cheers for the feedback mate! Anybody else? All info is appreciated.
12. Hey. Here again to pick your brains! Looking to buy a tilt back amp stand to hold an Ashdown ABM 410 bass cab (H x W x D mm 661 x 610 x 420). I’ve tried having a look myself, but can’t seem to find any that will cater for the size and weight of a bass cab. Anybody out there who could recommend any from personal use? All info is appreciated!
13. Excellent! Thank you BruceBass3901! Appreciate your feedback- very helpful indeed. Thanks again mate! Is there anybody else out there that would like to shed some light on the 610? All info is appreciated!
14. Hey. Wondered if I may pick your brains please? Any info is appreciated I am currently using the ABM 810. It’s a great sounding cab; but it’s become a hassle to shift around though! So instead, I was thinking of downsizing to the ABM 410. I found myself in two minds about the 410 after hearing that it features a horn though (as I understand that there is a difference between sealed and ported cabs). I’ve come to love the tight punch I get from my 810, so I don’t really want to venture too far away from that. However, in a previous thread of mine, somebody happened to mention the ABM 610; it is both SEALED (and importantly) LIGHTER- this has made me very curious about it. Has anyone out there ever tried/used the 610 before? Perhaps you could compare it to the 810 for me? Obviously, I'll be getting less in volume, but is the tone all there?
15. Great! Thank you all for your feedback, much appreciated! Is there anybody else out there that could shed some more light on the 410? or perhaps even the 610 (now that its been mentioned)? Any info is appreciated! Kind regards. Greg.
16. Thank you all for your posts! Appreciate the welcome!
17. Cool, thanks for the feedback Andy . A sealed 410 by Ashdown would most defo be answer to my troubles! But sadly, only in an ideal world- I've checked. Like you say, it could be an EQ thing.
18. Great. Thank you both for your feedback, appreciate it! Is there anybody else out there that can shed some light on the 410? All info is appreciated!

I’ve come to love the tight punch I get from my 810, so I don’t really want to venture away from that. If I set the ‘Horn control switch’ to ‘off’ on the 410 (see attached pic), will I get the same effect as the sealed cab (810) sound that features no horn? Obviously, I won’t get the same amount of volume, but will the tone be there? Kind regards.
20. Hi. I’m Greg. A friend recommended I sign up to Basschat; glad I did, cause it looks awesome! He said it is the place to be to pick some brains! I’ve only been playing seriously for 3/4 years now. I currently favour Lakland basses (Skyline series) and Ashdown amps (ABM series). I'm interested in all genre's of music; blues, rock, funk, reggae, disco, metal (to name afew)...
