1. Hey Dusty. 2013 mate (according to the serial), but I have not owned it since then- my initial purchase was in 2014
2. LOL, chill out bassassin; nobody's buying anything (not yet anyways) Just curious to see how popular they've been.
3. Possible, but who knows; if that is true, then we could be on to a winner here. There's been BA production problems for years, so I suppose it make sense for some to finally pick up the mantle. I shall keep digging and let you know what I find. In the meantime, anybody else out there???
4. Yes, 'bass centre' are doing them for £79 and 'Allparts' for £80. They look good at first sight... anybody actually using one through? How do they hold up?
5. Hi all. Anybody using the OMEGA bass bridge (Badass II clone)? How does it compare against a Leo Quan? They seem legit at first glance. High density zinc; made to look, fit and sustain like a Leo Quan... or am I mistaken?
6. *SOLD* *PRICE DROP* (now £575 ovno) Hi all. I'm selling my Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones Signature 4 String, in Pearl White with maple neck- £575 ovno. Immaculate condition! (no missing finish etc). These are great basses; well known for their playability and superb tone! Initially purchased as a backup for my main, but I never use it; I can't justify keeping anything that I don't use, so it has to go. Currently fitted with Schaller security strap locks (but I still have the original strap buttons if you prefer). It did not come with an official hard case or gig bag when I purchased it, but I can send it with a CNB padded gig bag (no extra charge). No swaps thank you. UK postage included; unless you are local and prefer to collect in person (I'm based in Selly Oak, Birmingham, UK). Any questions? please don't hesitate to drop me a message. You're welcome to check out my feedback page; I sold a beautiful Fender USA Jazz to 'Sparky Mark' earlier this year, with success. Open to (sensible) offers... Weight: 4.2kg (9.2lbs)
7. This is excellent, thank you all. I agree with pete.young; I might look into the MXR, atleast it has some basic monitoring (bit expensive, but hey). Any settings you could recommend please? (I play a lot of Jamiroquai/ Brand new heavies stuff). Cheers.
8. Hi all. Cheers for your messages! I intend to use it for BOTH dry and wet signals (I hoped I could kill two birds with one pedal). Anyways, this morning, my friend lent me the Boss CS-3 (compressor) for my dry signal, and the Boss LMB-3 (limiter) to try on my Synth Wah. Any recommended settings are appreciated... Cheers again.
9. I've never used a compressor before, (and admittedly) I've always tried to steer away from them, as I've feared that they might change my tone in some way. I have a couple of effects pedals that I really like (in particular the Digitech Bass Synth Wah); a great sounding pedal, but seems to go crazy loud/sensitive when activated. Anyways, a friend suggested that I look into 'compression', just level everything out. What are some of the better bass compressor pedals on the market right now; one that isn't going to compromise my tone per se, but rather, do exactly what compression is supposed to do, and simply squish everything together? Cheers. Greg.
10. Hi Nessy. That's great, cheers for your reply. Appreciate it!
11. Hi all. Shopping for an expression pedal, to control the decay on some of my effects. Have my eye on the FV-500's. I understand build quality on these are superb- so no worries there. Just wondered what the difference is between LOW and HIGH impedance though? and how will each effect my effects? Cheers.
12. Hi all. Hope you're well. After our discussion, I was intrigued to know more regarding the weight of Lakland basses (particularly the Darryl Jones 4 model). It would appear that, yes, the weight can often vary greatly from bass to bass. Anyhow, I have since acquired some scales and weighed mine personally; sitting in at 4.3kg (9.4lbs), which I understand is the average for these models (some have been known to be much lighter, and some, MUCH HEAVIER). *Bump* for a beautiful bass
13. Sorry, I don't have an accurate weight. Unlike Karlfer, I don't possess the scales to do so, nor a female relative who can assist. Suggestions?
14. No worries warwick. Not saying its a 'light' bass (I'm sure there are lighter out there), just lighter than fender jazz; a typical jazz is usually a common point of reference for many, hence why I mentioned it. But yes, I agree, I have had one or two similar experiences m'self- looks can be deceiving, the reality is that no two basses are truly same
