  1. Adding to what @Dad3353 said, please don't think I was having a pop. I've seen the thread he was talking about and the OP advocates an AI Composition Challenge, not something that I'd bother with. The AI process, taken to its nth degree, is something that I just don't fancy. To my ears, it sounds 'unsatisfactory', if that makes sense? But, each to their own. Personally, I prefer the struggle with real instruments (boy, do I struggle..!), and wish more folk would have a go in here every month.
  2. I've just tried doing a few AI songs, and very easy it was, too. They were all generically awful. You may also consider my monthly efforts generically awful but I'm satisfied that at least those cliched chord changes and bum notes were crafted from my own, fair hand. I have to use artificial drums seeing as a) I don't have a drumkit and b) I can't play drums so I'll use MT Drums, Hydrogen or mess about with a loop from Looperman. I've also used the extensive library available in Ableton Live for various sounds and have done two or three tunes exclusively using it. Everything in those tunes was programmed, changed around, tweaked, moved about a bit, tweaked again and then put back where it started out by me. Same with any drum tracks I use. The idea of just choosing from a list of options and letting your laptop and AI do all the heavy lifting is anathema to me. This is all just for fun and I can't see how I'd get any enjoyment out of the process by doing things that way, although it would mean I might get my entry in a bit quicker every month. Pah! Boo to AI tomfoolery and its sweeping sheen of binary banality! I'll stick with my rudimentary skills on various stringed instruments and flat, tuneless vocals and you'll thank me for it 😁
  3. Well done, gents! 👏 Hang on a minute... A surprise victory for wolfgang?
  4. Ned Sheddin - owner of That Was The Shed That Was, refelting with a smile and a satirical quip.
  5. I don't know how much paperwork you need for shed felching. Probably a lot. It's health and safety gone mad. Shed 7's bassist is Tom Gladwin. Not many members of the public know that.
  6. You don't seem very committed to following this all the way through, which is a shame. Come on, what else are you going to do this weekend? Food shopping? Gardening? Actually playing bass?
  7. That's not stopping randomers in the street though, is it, as per your original post? Go on, the weather forecast is good (well, better) for tomorrow. Get some fresh air and feel exasperated as the general public prove their ignorance about the legends of the low end!
  8. I look forward to the results of the survey that you will be holding in your nearest town centre this weekend. I hope it's not raining, but best take an umbrella with you, just in case.
  9. They couldn't.
  10. It's probably behind the sofa 👍
  11. I'd never heard of him until I joined on here 😁
  12. Er, where's the bit that actually lets you vote, @lurksalot? 😁
  13. Saw them in Brum on Saturday, loved it. Frank looks like he's having a ball. Matlock and Cook as tight as ever, although Jones had a couple of senior moments 😄 Silly Thing! My Way! Wasn't expecting them!
  14. Is it that time again? Righto... An up tempo, punky pop piece about...well, driving, I suppose. The words are a load of cobblers but at least there aren't many of them and they mostly rhyme 😁 Words hidden below. It's a Westfield double as a Les Paul copy and P-bass copy made the fuzzy noises, with the guitar through a Digitech RP80 effects unit. MT Drums in Ableton, recorded with the dynamic duo of Wavepad and Audacity.
  15. From the bits I've seen he does a decent job. It's not like he needs to be hitting notes like Mariah Carey manages. Besides, the crowd will be yelling along for most of it. "Tonight, Matthew, we're all gonna be Johnny Rotten!"
  16. I couldn't resist it. I'll be going along to the Birmingham O2 Academy tonight to see the snappily titled Frank Carter and Paul Cook, Steve Jones, Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols. And I'll have a bloody good time too.
  17. Well, that was vanilla.
  18. Canadian garage rock from 1966.
  19. It's a fine line between dull and dulcet. You've heard my efforts, I know what I'm talking about 🙃
  20. Nice one, @Jean-Luc Pickguard 👏
  21. I saw The Smyths earlier this month just days after the Tommy Robinson brigade went rampaging around England. They were very clear that, whilst they love the songs, they were dismayed at the direction that Moz's politics have gone in. The band were very good, although I thought the singer looked more like ABC's Martin Fry than Morrissey!
  22. They could merge and become a supergroup. O, a Smith.
  23. He could go out as The Smith, I suppose?
  24. A curious parody of Eve of Destruction.
  25. No wonder the Den's quiet with all you lot absconding over here 🤨
