  1. So good I had to listen to it three times in a row 😁
  2. Same here. It's the first song that I can vividly remember from Top of the Pops. I was 3½!
  3. Deck the halls with something or other... I've done a cover of 1-2-5 by the Canadian garage rock band The Haunted, which was a number 23 smash in the Canadian charts back in 1966. I'm not sure what the lyrics are getting at but maybe they are about an encounter with an inexpensive prostitute, and how Christmassy is that? Westfield guitar, violin bass, MT Drums. Wavepad and Audacity washed their socks by night.
  4. Lurksalittle couldn't salvage mine, could she? My singer mate has a cold (yeah, right, he just can't be arsed) and I'll have to do it otherwise. Actually, remembering that the lyrics are a little 'spicy', best I have a crack at it. Sorry to bother you. As you were
  5. Next Sunday (28th Dec) at 7-15pm. Jah Wobble talks about bass, bass and bass. Sounds good to me. BBC Radio 4 - Illuminated, Bass Notes https://share.google/mAXXaQY45g9XE5spg

  6. There you go. Exactly the same apart from I've removed the thumb rest.
  7. I have one exactly like yours which I bought about 25 years ago for around £30, I think. Had to tinker with it a little to lower the action slightly but I gigged it a few times and it never let me down. In fact, I'm having a noodle on it right now and it feels and sounds really good. Definitely made in Korea, mine has a sticker confirming the fact!
  8. Poll appears to have closed a day early. Shame, I was hoping for a late surge 😁
  9. I doubt very much that there will be a plethora of bass-related TV shows coming up in the new year so, personally, I'm glad to grab any that happen to come along. Clearly, you feel differently and, as I expressed in my last post, each to their own.
  10. Maybe give it a watch then? Seems rather incurious that someone who frequents a site called Basschat wouldn't want to at least attempt a peek at an all-too-rare TV show about the subject. Each to their own, I suppose. Testify! 👏
  11. Always going to happen, wasn't it? Too many zinger tower burger meals.
  12. TEA??? Rubbish! A coffee, please. I'm also with Frank on the arched window.
  13. I'm going to see Morrissey perform tonight in Nuneaton, just popping into Wetherspoons for a bite to eat first.
  14. Threads like this are rubbish...
  15. I'm going to my music room now to plug in a bass and play along to I Am the Resurrection. It seems like the right thing to do. Ta-ra, Mani. Thanks.
  16. Here's mine, Jeremy Vine. A light and frothy tune with a Portuguese title that translates as Hate Everybody Immediately, ha, no, not really, it means Sleepy Village. I could imagine supping a cold beer in one of the beach huts and listening to this. Mind you, I could also sit in one of them listening to Wake Up by Rage Against the Machine, so what do I know? Ended up sounding like a Fisher-Price Johnny Marr on my Westfield Les Paul copy through an RP80 effects pedal, cursory bass came from the Vester P copy and MT Drums went bum-tet-bum-tet. Wavepad and Audacity, as ever, put it all together.
  17. Written and sung by Ian Willis. You know him better as Lemmy.
  18. Isles Badly Drawn Box Whim! Salon Find Young Cannibals Dead or Clive Frankie Goes to Hollyrood Krankie Goes to Hollywood Adam and the Anus Dover Gulp Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pogs
  19. Bedford Esquires tonight for noise merchants Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs.
  20. And, staggering in late again... Going off at a tangent from the 6-in-1 wonder oven theme (although an air fryer is mentioned in one verse) I instead decided to celebrate a comedian, a singer, a professor, a philanthropist, a cricketer and a cartoon character with an in-depth(!) delve into what makes them who they are. What they do have in common is that they all share the same surname, Fry. Ended up doing that as I couldn't think of six folk with the surname Oven. You want words? You got 'em, buster (but they're hidden below) 4-string cigar box guitar, Les Paul copy and P-bass copy. Ableton provided drummery programmery tomfoolery. A bit of RP80 for guitar effects. Recorded and dusted down with the dynamic duo of Wavepad and Audacity.
  21. Were you having a few pints with Nigel Farage last night and he got hold of your phone?
  22. I think it was Captain Sensible (born Ray Burns) who said that he and some of the early punks changed their names to help avoid the DHSS from sniffing around too much as they were still claiming 'the dole'.
