  1. The fella is very talented and creative, seems to be enjoying what he is doing and is making a fair few quid along the way. Wish I could waste my (admittedly very limited) talent and time like that!
  2. These two brothers from Egypt are fantastic musicians. Mohamad and Abdallah Abozekry. Mohamad is the oud dude and Abdallah plays the bağlama.
  3. Why do I always leave it so late? Saunter through Cézanne's Avenue at Chantilly to a twinkling soundtrack of swirly, insistent guitar chords, subtle keys and unobtrusive beats. Played on a cigar box guitar (open G tuning) with a dash of flanger, a Strat copy using Nashville tuning with a touch of echo and a violin bass. Ableton provided MT Drums and all the virtual keys. Recorded, as ever, with Wavepad and Audacity.
  4. You wouldn't go far wrong with a few Ramones tunes.
  5. And now for wait for Lurks to come up with a fiendish plan to see who chooses this month's photo... how about postal chess?
  6. In like Flynn (with a limp). The old gang reconvene at the pub one more time to enjoy a few drinks in the sun and reminisce about the days when they had everything going for them and all the time in the world to loon around. Lo-tech talk: Unbranded Strat, Daphon Wah Wah pedal, Vivlex Delay pedal, Westfield bass, Roland Cube amp, Apogee Mic+ and MT drums. Recorded with Wavepad, Audacity and Ableton. Fancy some lyrics to go with this Fisher-Price Fun Lovin' Criminals funk? Here they are. Won't mean owt to you lot but all the names included in the song are various drinking acquaintances of mine through the 80s, 90s and 00s, although I'm not sure they were all ever in the same pub at the same time!
  7. Jingles? Not sure about that, but it'd be nice if a few more had a go at the monthly composition challenge to get the artistic juices flowing 🎶
  8. You know how earworms stick around in your head for ages and ages after hearing them? Well, that didn't
  9. Generation Boombox Rubik's Dudes Masters of Mullets
  10. I would firstly challenge Kendo Nagasaki to a game of Ker-Plunk, initiate peace talks between the warring factions in the Nagorno-Karabakh enclave and then take a nice, relaxing monobath with several close acquaintances. Sorted. Respect due 👍
  11. Thom Yorke giving it some four-string in his Radiohead spinoff band,The Smile.
  12. You must have heard of contemporary psych-rockers Baba Zula? A fantastic sound. Have been lucky enough to have seen them three times. Improvisational, interactive (they very often go for a wander through the audience) and a new album coming soon. Seconded 👍 You are preaching to the converted. Serious GAS, I've got SIX of the things!
  13. Guitarist tried to set fire to the vocalist.
  14. Hard enough to narrow it down to three, let alone two!
  15. I'm in. A lazy lollop through Woolworth's looking for hippy wigs. Sit back, have a bit of what you fancy, close your eyes and find your neutral space. Westfield P-bass, Indian drums and percussion from Looperman, Strats from Westfield and Harley Benton both tuned to CGCGCC for a bit of a drone effect (Westfield has Nashville strings on). Backwards guitar (trippy, maaaaan). Recorded using Wavepad and Audacity.
  16. Excellent, now I can watch it again for the umpteenth time for inspiration!
