  1. Is a 9v input socket any good at holding a battery?
  2. Quick! To the Batpond, Robin!
  3. Interesting that no one has mentioned the 'sweet spot' theory. IME, and I've had a few P/J basses and far too many Precisions, having a P/J setup pushes the split-P pickup closer to the neck to make room for the J-pickup. Whether or not there's a sweet spot, that move has to change the sound of the solo'd split-P as opposed to an equivalent Precision layout.
  4. In answer to a PM, I'm not minded to break this for parts. It's a lovely bass as it is, and I'd rather keep it than break it.
  5. But when you discover that it's Guinness & Lime ...
  6. It's only Stoke, Mick. Now if it was Aberdeen ...
  7. I looked at those photos and thought, so what's missing?
  8. That Freya logo doesn't half remind me of something ...
  9. Transl. = It wasn't you who got his lights punched out.
  10. That's not all solid! It's got f-holes ...
  11. He made it in a lighthouse?
  12. What's an "all solid Archer"?

  14. If only the body was the right way around!
  15. Links?
  16. What's he doing with his right hand in that clip?
  17. Is it possible that he's just doing this because he can, rather than because it actually achieves anything useful?
  18. If only it had said 'Squier' on the headstock ...
  19. Sounds like a very odd (and pointless) arrangement. IME you either put the whole band through the PA or you have backline and put vox only through the PA. Your arrangement appears designed to give you the worst of all solutions. Has your 'band leader' explained his reasoning? And will he listen to reason?
  20. Thanks man, it's big of you to admit it.
  21. I am SO going to have a go on this at the DB bash ...
  22. Is there a prize we can award for the most dispiriting, negative, unpleasant topic of the month? Not the OP, not the subject matter. But the blend of arrogance, condescension, generalisation and pigeon-holing that has been attracted.
  23. Tempted as I am, I score a mere 9/20 on that multiple choice test, so I'd best pass!
  24. No matter how far into the future one goes, mankind will always need precision. And perhaps even jazz ...
