Cab advice

Tks s212 - decently capable of going loud but actually have a nice tone too.
2. Nice bass! The custom shop stuff is all really good I think!
3. I played P's of all prices (£350 to about £6k) when I was shopping around for one 18 months ago - I ended up with a Custom Shop ('57 "Journey Man" to be exact), played a few of the different CS models though & they were all really nice. I'm sure some proper vintage ones would be better but a few of the ones I tried really weren't so it's definitely a try before you buy with them.
4. Very nice - I love my CS P-bass; so simple but so, so nice to play. The necks on them are just incredible!
5. No, I work around the corner & my company has an office on the street - the shops are still there & staying (for now at least). The whole segment between Denmark street & center point (so this includes Denmark Studios & all the cheap Korean food places) has been flattened for crossrail works & will not be coming back in the same format, it is going to be shared use offices, shops & residential, but the actual shops & the old shop fronts on Denmark street are staying.
6. You can't, they're inherently different. The closest you'll get is solo neck pick-up & half tone but it's really not the same.
7. Couple of interesting trade options offered so far but would rather do a deal for cash... bump.
8.
These are absolutely amazing basses.
Yeah they're awesome - such solid build quality & just exactly the tone you'd expect from a jazz.

My P's
Everything! tone, power, clarity but most of all punch. However, I blame the staggered poles on the Custom shop pup, especially the 'A' as it's height dictated how low the action could go.
Interesting. Yes I could do without the A-poles too, they're annoying - I don't use super low action anyway so have got it to nearly where I want it but it would be so much easier if it just had normal height A-poles - I do really like the tone of the bass/pick-up though! Anyway - glad you're enjoying the Journeyman, I think they're awesome playing instruments - once you get used to that chunky neck it's just so comfortable to play!

My P's

Nice collection! What does the Bare Knuckle pick-up give you that the custom shop pick-up didn't? I have an '57 journey man too & love the sound so interested to hear what I'm missing?
12. It's doable - there was a bass for sale on here maybe a couple of years ago with this exact mod done. But yes, completely pointless when you can just buy a jazz neck so easily.
13. The "classic" series Mexican Fenders have all been super nice when I've had quick noodles in the shop but there's nothing wrong with the Standard Mexican ones as gigging basses. Personally if you've got the extra ~200 for the "classic" series models I'd be getting a nice clean used American Standard - the good ones are very good; great build quality & tone, they feel exactly how you'd want a jazz bass to feel.
14. Dead-spots aren't brand specific, I'm sure there are Fenders with a dead-spot but it could really happen to any brand/model. As ever with basses - try before you buy. PJ's are nice but by definition they're neither a P nor J, they're their own thing - you might really like them but if you want a P get a P.
15. I've played one; they're great & the build quality is top notch. There's nothing about them that is better than the last batch of American Standards (2012-2016) though, I would also be trying to get one of the last stock of American Standards on the cheap but once they're gone the American Pro would probably be my choice for that kind of money if you're buying new. £1500 would go a lot further second hand though.
16. Still loving mine too. Practicing, recording & small gigs can be handled by one, bigger/louder gigs I use two. I can't see any reason for needing more; if the drums are going through the PA the bass is too so the on stage rig goes back to just being for personal monitoring. I also they're they're the best looking cabs out there!
17.
I'm probably in the minority here but I love my Squier. I have a MIM jazz fretless and that is very nice too. The difference in quality is negligible, especially if you find a Squier from this millennium.
There's nothing wrong with Squier as a brand, they have made some decent basses but the current CV ones (70's inspired with the black blocks) just aren't very good IMO - when I was buying a P I'd have really liked to have liked them & was originally thinking of getting one but after you've spent a few weeks playing every model of P you can get your hands on you get more of a feel of what's what & those Squiers were probably the worst basses I'd played in the period.
18. I tried a few of those classic vibe 70's P's earlier in the year - didn't like any of them; they feel & up-close-look cheap. I know they are moderately cheap but I don't think they represent the kind of bargains the previous iteration from Squire were, disappointing because I really wanted to like them so I had some spare money to spend on something else! Out of the two I'd go for the MiM but as others have said; used is often the better route to go & the classic 50's ones are awesome.
19. I'd go pick-up height too. I'm having a similar issue with the A string on my 57 RI P - has raised A-pole pieces so I have to tilt it the other way to get balance across the strings.
20. Nice looking bass that. I don't need another P bass but if I did I'd probably go for that!
21. American Standard P - would suit what you're doing perfectly & the quality on them is great. They're discontinued but only very recently so many shops still have stock & it's discounted to 1k, you may be a little limited on colour choice but you can't really go wrong with the basses. Assuming that '57 re-issue in the classifieds on here is an American Vintage Re-Issue that would be a good buy too.
