1. These are designed for Drop C my friend
2. I have my Spector LX35 tuned to C G C F with 5 string elite stadiums 130 - 105 - 85 - 65 but have just received a couple of sets of Newtone 'Drop C' 105 - 85 - 65 - 46 (off the top of my head). These are handmade strings with a thicker core, and apparently tension @ low C won't be an issue. While I wait for a new nut from Spector (whose customer service has been awesome as always!) I was just wondering what tonal differences I can expect? I've always felt the 130 dies off quite quickly so hopefully I'll get a more consistent tone across the set? I will of course provide a full review when I've got the nut, but was just wondering what people's thoughts were while I wait...
3. Love this tune (the Fleetwood Mac version) but don't have a clue where to start with the walking bass line, any scales I should look at or does someone play it in a covers band who can give me some hints? Cheers
4. Played at The Barn in Porstmouth on thursday night, great venue, great promoter and a great crowd. First time we've had people come in to listen to us. Was very hot but didn't matter much had people outside listening. Even got a review! 11. My band (www.myspace.com/eightdirtypages) and our friend Blue Stragglers (www.myspace.com/bluestragglers) are playing at the Bull and Gate in Kentish Town on Monday 1st June. Blue Stragglers are on @ 9, and we're on 9.45 It's £5 or £4 with a flyer from www.bullandgate.co.uk/flyer.html Take a listen, we're both grungy noise makers so start your week with a bit of filth!

13. Bought this with the Fafner but prefer my Ashdown setup so this is surplus to requirements 280 pounds collected (I'm in Sussex and willing to meet depending on distance) Will consider a nice practise amp in p/x Details here

15. www.myspace.com/eightdirtypages We're playing at the Rose and Crown in Crawley (Sussex) next weekend with loads of bands ( ) Should be a good night, good selection of beers and good prices I believe, everything should be cool until I unleash the Fafner
16. www.myspace.com/eightdirtypages All done DIY, had some help from Lee in the Blue Stragglers (see our Top Friends) who played the horrible (in a good way) slide solo in "Get Up" Clearing samples - anyone know anything about that jazz? They're only short snippets... CDs will be available at gigs - artworks not done yet but if anyone fancies a copy send me your details and I'll chuck one in the post on a verbatim CDR with a scribbled track list and note of thanks

Balance is great, going back to my spector but that's 35" scale so can be a bit neck heavy so used to a bit of weight in my left hand. My old guitarist works in the service department at fender and he's gonna have a look at the lectrics for me and hopefully be getting a bit of a refund because of the work needed. Gig next week so might give it a run out anyway
18. Yeah, the white P is luvverly

Confused... Does The Bass Cellar = Music Ground? If so I think this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Guild-B302-70s-Origi...%3A1%7C294%3A50 is the one I've just bought. I know I paid over the odds (really wanted one + had the cash) but didn't pay that much!
21. I've got a TU-2 in my pedalboard and plenty of other gear so no trades please! About a tenner for postage then Cheers
22. This was part of the rack I bought off Jake w/the Fafner Was going to get rid of my pedalboard and use it as my tuner but things have changed... £GONE collection/meet in Sussex I have got loads of bubblewrap and cardboard if you want it posted, will have to find out price for that though.

Oh and neck profile is pretty similar to my Spector, which is cool

Here she be! Electronics are shot, got output but the pickup selector only selects bridge-both-both and only one pot works (bridge pickup volume) But easiest thing ever to set up, got it playing pretty nice in drop C with the scabby strings that were on there already so looking forward to getting the Newtones on there and having a proper fettle. Luckily I this picture is one of the first results when you search for "B302" and I reckon I can rewire from it:
I was very , very close to having a punt for the one Shaggy bought from Rayman. I had one of those 'I'll leave it til the morning and what we will be' moments. It wasn't to be. I can remember playing several as a young man as I wanted a different bass to my Precision , didn't fancy a Gibbo and couldn't afford a Ric. Trust me , there was bugger all else to choose from back then. Had quite a soft spot for them ever since though I never owned one. I liked the different look , I liked the brand as Guild were well known as top end acoustic makers , I liked the sound which was non-fendery but not as 'trifle in an old sock' as a Gibson. I liked playing them too. You will let us see your new aquisition I hope.
Of course! I ummmd and ahhhhhd too long on the fretless as well. Have ordered some low tuning 105 - 80 - 65 - 45 Newtone strings (thanks Sibob!) because I want to tune it to drop C but don't want to take a file to it to fit 130s. Stuck at work for the day though
