  1. Why are all the best basses for sale up north!
  2. Caution. Video constrains nudity so if either avoid or click on it depending upon your inclination.
  3. There are already cases of this happening as well as voice overs artists getting turned down and AI being used instead. What we need is AI to do all the boring stuff like cleaning, ironing, putting the bins out so humans can have more time to do the creative stuff.
  4. Very glad you live in Essex as I have no need for a Thunderbird but have always liked them. If you lived nearby I could not resist at this price.
  5. Contact details are interesting: Phone : +44 3991398100 Address : Zeb, 29496 Waddeweitz, United Kingdom
  6. I have a few nice basses and can confirm I am rubbish.
  7. Spotify gets criticised frequently and there is some justification. However it is worth mentioning that before Spotify there was Napster and Pirate Bay who were killing musicians and record companies alike and providing a rubbish service as well. The Playlist is worth a watch. Its a fictional account of Spotify but contains a lot of fact. Ultimately the reason that musicians continue to get screwed over by streaming has a lot more to do with the record labels than the technology or companies providing the streaming service.
  8. I stream everything these days. Like it or not analogue id dead, broadcast TV and radio are in the old folks home along with physical currency. Everyone is entitled to take a stand but it’s not going to make any difference and you are missing out on a whole lot of benefits. I try to compensate by getting to hear new artists before they get big and going to their gigs and buying their merchandise. I would never have heard of most of these guys otherwise.
  9. I would hope people still get the same sense of excitement about music that I did as a teenager. I learned about the Doors via Echo and the Bunnymen. From the Doors I listened to lots of 60s music leading to a love of the blues and country.
  10. I guess it depends whether the lyrics are viewed as a condemnation or celebration. Brown Sugar and Strange Fruit both had a major impact on me and lead to more research and learning when I was a teenager.
  11. I doubt that they were talking to fans of Jazz, Blues, Country, Classic Rock, Classical, Opera etc
  12. I guess this is the dilemma that we face. People on BC are very vocal about how wages should rise in the western economies. There are concerns that the west has a hollowed out manufacturing base. There are concerns about Russia and war. However nobody wants to pay extra for things made in the west. This makes for a very precarious work force and a potentially very vulnerable environment if war did kick off.
  13. Or alternatively Pedro was a native of California being paid a Californian salary. The difference in price due to wages and infrastructure being the biggest difference between MIA and high end MIM Fenders IMO.
  14. A single decent instrument for me. Buy it used and it will keep its re sale value. This is useful if you need to change basses for different projects etc. I don’t get the massive love for Harley Bentons. I totally agree that for their price point you can’t go wrong. I’ve tried a couple and was surprised and impressed, but not so much that the things that made them a budget instrument wouldn’t get on my nerves eventually.
  15. Me too generally, but have to say for some styles of music eg Reggae and Ska I think a J can sound great..
  16. Personally I would leave things as they are if you have both a P bass and a J bass.
  17. If I understand correctly you have a P bass and a Jazz bass already? TBH that covers just about everything?
  18. Doing this sort of thing on cheaper instruments to get some skills and learn some techniques (as well as a bit of a hobby) is fine. Personally I wouldn’t do it on a decent instrument. Just sell/trade it for a PJ. Or at least experiment for a while on some cheap wood then a £30 ebay purchase before doing it on your Schecter. In terms of resale. No I would not buy a bodge job, unless it was very cheap.
  19. Who Never heard of them! 😉😀
  20. strange to think some of us probably were at the same place, same time but had no idea …
  21. Anything that you buy from a dealer be it a car, instrument, watch, antique clock is going to cost more than from a private sale. The reasons have already been listed. I don’t think musicians have any reason to grumble about prices of instruments. If you’re not looking at the vintage or premium end of the market then prices and quality are still fantastic compared to most other periods in history. G&L tribute series, Harley Benton etc etc are still stonking good value for money.
  22. A couple that are broadly goth: Old New
