  1. Great looking bass - there is a beautiful 7 string on here too that is well priced. I only play 6ers nowadays and whenever they come up, they're typically priced a lot higher than yours and the 7 string. GLWTS.
  2. Can't believe this is still available frankly - amazing bass, amazing value. I play 6ers exclusively now but if I didn't this is the 4 I'd want. Hope you keep it!
  3. I'm in the market for something like this so its great timing. But I'm hoping it comes in at £850 tops otherwise I think I'll go with a combo for the added versatility.
  4. I wonder what these active cabinets will be priced at? Just looking at the Bass Direct web site and the passive AT Carbon 112H 8ohm costs £750 so with the active element added, maybe £850-£950? If they’re at the lower end of the scale at say £850, then an additional £150 gets you an Eich BC112 (30lbs or so) - the best combo I’ve ever used. I acknowledge there are differences between active cabinets and a combo of course - and weight is a factor too.
  5. I know GSS sell an active cabinet and Barefaced used to have one but I don’t know any other bass manufacturers who offer them. I’m definitely interested in learning more about the GR Aerotech active cabinet (particular the price and options) because I always use a Trickfish Minnow preamp/DI anyway.
  6. This new active cabinet is very promising. I wonder what they’ll be priced at and what the range options will look like.
  7. I bought an Ibanez EHB1506MS-BIF and it arrived today. Ergonomically it is just brilliant, very light and it’s very versatile too. Unfortunately the build quality is pretty awful. The top wood is ludicrously thin. There are big gaps around pickups and a host of other small problems related to finish/QC. It’s a real shame because the instrument is so very well designed and thought out.
  8. Cheers Pete - I’m not just saying this because I’m selling but I actually think his basses are underpriced when compared with other builders honestly.
  9. Maruszczyk Elwood L6a-24 Custom, Japanese Maple top with the incredible Trickfish Internal Pre Amp (IPA) installed. This is the best bang for buck bass I've had - I've owned lots of custom Foderas and a lot of other high end basses and I would confidently say that this bass is 90% Fodera for more or less 10% of the cost. I'm based in Bournemouth, Dorset. Any trial is welcome. Collection or shipping. I'm not looking for any trades. Specifications Weight: approx. 9lb 6oz/4.35kg Scale: 33" Body: northern hard ash with figured Japanese maple top Neck: hard rock maple with carbon rods Headstock: Japanese maple, matching top Fingerboard: ebony, 24 frets with zero fret Ramp: ebony, matching fingerboard Nut width: 54mm Construction: bolt on Pickups: Delano Electronics: Trickfish Internal Pre Amp (IPA) Finish: satin, neck matte Hardware: black String spacing: 17mm-18mm Gigbag
  10. Japanese. I actually prefer these to the American made Smiths. Very, very underpriced too. I'm surprised it hasn't gone. I've been looking for the 6 string version for years now - the only one I've seen in the last 12 months is the one on eBay at the moment but the guy wants ludicrous money for it... hence why he's had it up for sale for months and months.
  11. Yes, I know inflation and all but EUR7200 (at time of posting GBP6275) is quite ambitious in my opinion. I don't think it'll sell for anything close to that. I've had multiple 33" scale 6 string Fodera basses and one of them was equipped with the extended B. From a tonal perspective, it didn't make any difference at all to my ears. From an aesthetics perspective, I'd prefer not to comment
  12. Yeah - it’s an extended B headstock and something Fodera do build - there’s quite a bit of debate about whether the extended B head position makes much difference.
  13. I don't usually publish NBD posts but I just took receipt of this new Maruszczyk Elwood 6 and I am truly bowled over by the build/sound quality. It completely stacks up against my Fodera Emperors.
  14. Ibanez SR306EB 6-String Bass in Weathered Black - Sold on eBay for £310!!!! No trades please. Specifications Body Type: SR Body Material: Nyatoh Neck Material: 5-piece Maple / Walnut Weight: 8.8lbs Fingerboard Material: Jatoba Position Inlays: Dot Number of Frets: 24 Number of Strings: 6 Bridge: Accu-cast B126 Controls: Volume, balancer, bass Boost / cut, mid boost / cut, treble boost / cut 3-way Power Tap switch Body & Neck Ibanez have opted for mahogany for the SR306EB's body, delivering a healthy midrange emphasis and a lightweight feel. They've also appointed typically smooth curves for the design, making it an extremely ergonomic instrument to play. As with much of the SR range, this instrument has a 5-piece neck comprised of maple and rosewood. This gives it extra resilience and stability, meaning that you won't need to worry about intonation or neck adjustment further down the line. The fretboard is also rosewood, ensuring smooth playability and adding a touch of extra warmth to the sustain. Electronics & Hardware For the SR306EB, Ibanez have employed their brand new PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups. These pickups use exposed stainless stell poles, providing high output and excellent sonic clarity. This is ideal for an extended-range bass, as it ensure that you have even resonance across all frequencies without any interference - the last thing you want is to lose that low 6th string in the mix. You've also got a 3-band EQ at your disposal, so you've got full control over the advanced pickup choice. A 3-way power tap switch allows you to tweak your tone even further, offering split tones as well as full-bodied humbucking sounds, or a blend of both. Don't be fooled by the price tag; this is a wholly versatile instrument for the modern player! As you might expect, you've got black hardware to complement this instrument's alluring looks, including the Accu-cast B126 bridge, which offers enhanced sustain and intonation.
  15. Awesome! I’ve had my eyes open for a 6-string version for years now. There’s actually one on eBay at the moment but the price is ludicrous.
  16. SOLD - Fodera Emperor 6 Bolt-on 33" Flame Maple 2020. SmugMug: https://fodera.smugmug.com/Newborn-Gallery-Vol-VI/Newborn-1954
  17. Amazing Fender model and this is the best finish in my opinion. Very, very rare also. GLWTS.
  18. That is amazing. A really, really great price too. I’ve been on the lookout for a 6-string version like this but the ones I’ve been offered are either way, way overpriced or bright red …or something else too gnarly for my tastes. GLWTS.
  19. Yes, 2 of these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Behringer-MX400-Micromix-Noise-Channel/dp/B000KGYAYQ?th=1 It enables me to have samples, etc. plugged in to my board - really useful (for what I do).
  20. It's finished... I think.. who am I kidding... it'll be changed before the week is out!
  21. Very, very nice and not a better basschatter.
