  1. Fender American Pickguard for Jazz Bass, USA J-Bass Scratchplate, 3-Ply Black - SOLD
  2. That is absolutely stunning and good value considering the superb spec and incredible workmanship. Somebody is going to be getting a really special bass.
  3. Darkglass, Aguilar, etc. must be capable of building their amplifiers without a fan but I suppose that the market/expense just doesn't justify the hassle. With a fan: Darkglass Microtubes 900V2 (900w): 255 x 267 x 70 mm Aguilar TH700 (700w): 305 x 229 x 76 mm Without a fan: Phil Jones BP-800 (800w): 317 x 190 x 63 mm Acoustic Image Clarus SL (600w): 188 x 183 x 53 mm
  4. I think it's pretty weird that fans are used/needed nowadays. I acknowledge that not everyone cares about fan noise but I know plenty of other folks do care about it - I use the same amplifier for practice as I do for performing live so at lower volumes, a fan kicking in really irritates me. If Phil Jones, Acoustic Image and others can build a small, lightweight, class D amplifier without a fan, I wonder why Aguilar, Darkglass, etc. can't or won't do it ...I really fancy a Darkglass Microtubes 900 but the fan means I won't get one.
  5. Trickfish Bullhead 1K amplifier - SOLD 2019 Trickfish Bullhead 1K amplifier in brand new condition. These are £1199 new from Bass Direct or The Bass Gallery - https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Trickfish_Amplifiers.html / https://thebassgallery.com/products/trickfish-bullhead-1k It'd be preferable if any prospective buyer was able to come and play it using their own bass, etc. but I will ship it if necessary. I am based in Bournemouth, Dorset. My feedback - https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/231476-thebassist-feedback The Trickfish team has put all of their experience and skill into making the Bullhead 1K a truly musical piece of equipment. The design goals were modest: build a pre-amp that had the lowest noise floor possible so when we record it’s nice and quiet, employ powerful EQ’s so we can shape the sound in the most musical way possible and utilize a stout, no-nonsense power amp that delivers when digging in and pouring on the heat. Trickfish kept it simple and clean so that it would be easy to operate on stage – big knobs that are easy to grab and full size switches to minimize fumbling. Featuring the acclaimed Mike Pope designed low noise pre-amp integrated with a tour proven, 1000W Class D power amplifier, the Bullhead 1K offers all of the professional features and performance expected of a Trickfish product. Housed in a robust aluminum chassis, the powerful head offers a wide variety of tone-shaping capabilities via a 4-band EQ and 8 frequency select options. 6. The GRBass miniONE is a bit bigger than the Trace Elliot Elf but the power output is different. Personally, I think the GRBass miniONE compares more with an Aguilar TH350 than the Elf or the TC Electronic BAM200. GRBass miniONE power: 350 watts at 4 ohms and 170 watts at 8 ohms GRBass miniONE dimensions: 19 x 16 x 4.3 cm Trace Elliot Elf power: 200 watts at 4 ohms and 130 watts at 8 ohms Trace Elliot Elf dimensions: 17.1 x 10.4 x 3.4 cm Aguilar TH350 power: 350 watts at 4 ohms and 175 watts at 8 ohms Aguilar TH350 dimensions: 20.9 x 19.1 x 7 cm
  7. Yes, they are 4 ohms but I've now edited the title too so it definitely can't be overlooked.
  8. This amazing GRBass AT112h cabinet is made of carbon fibre and weighs just 8 kg (17 lbs) - your back will love you. My loss is your gain. I've had this cabinet for 8 weeks, it’s have never been out of the house and it’s in absolutely pristine, as new condition. I need to gather some funds together for a new project. The GRBass AT112h cabinet costs £866 at Thomann - https://www.thomann.de/gb/gr_bass_at112h_8.htm The GRBass AeroTech range of speakers are the lightest bass guitar speaker cabinets in the world. Never has a professional speaker cabinet been produced with this performance to weight ratio. The AeroTech speaker cabinets are made of high-tech carbon fibre materials developed for the AeroSpace industry and are used for rigidity and consistency while offering durability and reduced weight. Overall the Aero series of cabinets when compared to any wood cabinet on the market have better focus, detail, punch, overall richness of sound and a more open soundstage. Here are the AeroTech versions compared to their wood counterparts: 40% lighter weight with greater durability than wood construction. Possess greater consistency in weight and sound by using non-organic material. Employ extreme rigidity that improves sound quality by reducing resonance and control of spurious vibrations in the cabinet. It'd be preferable if any prospective buyer was able to come and play it using their own bass, etc. but I will ship it if necessary. I am based in Bournemouth, Dorset. 9. Leading on from the loud fans thread, I’m looking for class D amplifiers that don’t have fans at all? I know the Trickfish Bullhead 1K doesn’t have a fan and I’m pretty sure the Phil Jones BP-800 doesn’t too? Any more?
  10. I had two TH350s, a TH500 and tried out the AG700 and TH700. All the Aguilar amplifiers use the same fan - whether they are loud to you or not is subjective but they're too loud for me. It's down to the quality of the parts used I think.
