4. Everybody has sweaty hands for Wals! It's great because you can play your stuff, through someone else's gear, and another blokes pedals and there's no pressure to buy. It's generally a very fertile breeding ground for plans, plots and severe GAS.

 7. The Tour of Britain cycle race will be in the area of the Bash on Saturday - http://www.gosurrey....s/2013-tour-map There should be no problems using the M.25, coming off at J.11 and into Addlestonemoor and to the venue. It may get busy on a few side roads between 1330 to 1530 if you come in other than by the motorway. Got to start planning the cake stall now! Mrs Hamster will assist me as usual. I'll stick to tea, coffee, squash and pastries as per previous years because it's a pain if I start doing sandwiches again. Tesco is only 2 minutes away if anyone needs sandwiches etc.
 8.
Staying unashamedly 20th Century, then ?
Please, don't upset Pete - I've had to charter a steam train and a Hansom cab from the station just to get him to come!
 9.
I am hearing a lot about the M25 problems. Was it anything in particular causing it, or is it just a typical Saturday?
Just 'normal' traffic. Saturdays are usually ok fingers crossed!
 10. Sting is: The same age as me; Considerably richer; Has considerably more talent; Is better looking and in much better shape. Bastard
 11.
will there be a set-up masterclass?
We are waiting on several confirmations before announcing what's on the agenda this year - but I am excited!
 12.
I keep posting in the 'Gigs' thread, but have hardly any interest,, so I thought I'd try this.
Don't try it again, especially with such a lame title (which i've changed) - thanks
 13.
Both Chertsey and Byfleet & New Haw stations are a distance from the school that i would want to walk. Chertsey station looks close on the map as the crow flies but it's a lot longer walk that it looks as you have to go a long way out of your way if walking.
Addlestone is the closest. I can probably sort out lifts from & to rail stations on the day
 14. On here you are also dealing with fellow bass players, most of whom are known to at least one more member. I nearly always pay (and get paid) directly into bank accounts which is something I would never contemplate on ebay.
 15.
Up for grabs is a rather unique 6-string bolt-on Warwick Thumb fretted bass. I bought this from littleal a few years back. It has a smaller than standard one piece walnut body so it looks like a broad necked bass but it isn't. Plays like absolute butter - the neck is wenge with an ebony fingerboard. Notes leap of the fingerboard - powerful and distinct. Only selling as I need some funds for work to be done on our house - bummer..... There are a few videos of it in action here - Looking for £950 (shipped in UK) - comes with a hard case. No trades please !
Bump!
 16.
I'll try to come along, possibly with some of the other Herts-ers from our bash...has anybody invited Yolanda???
I intend to email a few special guests with an invite As usual, I can also offer a lift from local train stations. Addlestone, Chertsey & West Byfleet would cover most routes in.
 17. It was a full band with drums, rhythm geetar and 2 x backing vocals. Well worth a night out.

 19. I suppose if you're playing anything else but your own compositions you must be paying tribute to the band/person who wrote/performed it? But then again, what about a 'tribute' band made up of various ex-members who performed and wrote the songs? - are they a tribute to the name of the band or themselves? What about Dr Feelgood - no original band members in the current line up - so a tribute?
 20. As it's been mentioned - Bash news soon, just waiting for a booking confirmation.
 21. Yes it was the gig in Sutton with a young lad called Tobi on guitar. I think with the right agent & publicity he could do quite well, very John Mayer like with some good original songs. Several Free numbers in the set as I don't think Andy would have been let off the stage without playing them. He'll obviously never be free from his condition but he's got a great attitude about it and about looking after himself. Still the showman on stage, but he struck me as very humble about his success when we chatted afterwards. I did invite him to the next South East Bass Bash - but he'll be in Japan
