1. nice looker from a safe seller could be a real bargain for someone http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/G-L-L2000-Tribute-Ba...1QQcmdZViewItem
2. these pics were posted up by a a member of the musicman forum,Randracula, they're his pics from the weekend. the colour's rootbeer - and I'm wanting a Sterling 5 string like this one but with a rosewood board.
3. pics please?
4. I have SIT super hooks (no ball end) on my Axis - they're excellent tone wise and seem to stay brighter than Slinkys,D'Addario et al .I bought a dozen sets from The Guitar Store in Glasgow a while back back, not sure if they still stock the brand though
5. sorry I didnt like about the Streamer Std when I owned one - carolena body wood looked cheap and felt it too I'd honestly save the extra for a LX or a ProM or a Corvette Std I also think a SUB would be worth more than an extra 30 notes over a Streamer Std
6. I got an Alesis Phlngr thats just an "a" out
7. "New, they retail $1,999 so this really is a deal!"
8. looks better now than he did 25 years ago - he was just a wee fattie then with a perm and a bandana. Numan carries a baseball bat around in his car so I'm sure he'd still say what he liked to his face
9. bought the EH Nano Dr Q from me. thanks for that! top bloke to deal with
10. my favourite by a mile was Jo Dworniak. he had a band in the 80s called I-Level which I didnt care much for but his work on John Foxx's The Garden and The Golden section was just stellar.incidentally I saw Foxx perform the Metamatic album in its entirety along with the B-sides and Burning Car on the 1st night of the tour in October.going to see Siouxsie in March as well. guess you never lose what you grew up with. Barry Adamson was a great player in my estimation - he done all the Visage stuff too Derek Forbes - vastly underrated - his basslines on Sons & Fascination and New Gold Dream are amazing. Paul Gardiner - not really a great technical player but his basslines on Tubeway Army/replicas/Pleasure principle and Telekon were played with weight. shame he died of an OD in 83 Chris Cross's early work with Ultravox was varied, melodic and mostly on a P-bass. not so sure about the moog 8th note bass on much that followed Fiction factory - cant remember the bass players name but the bassline on Throw the warped wheel out is memorable
11. Slimming down my 6 string collection a bit for more bass gear so this lovely electro acoustic has to go Model 1860 Custom Balladeer 1993 made in USA Black, solid spruce top, shallow bowl cutaway, 2pc mahogany neck - prominent "V" profile -(dead comfy!) rosewood fingerboard diamond inlays at 12th fret only Ovation FET-3 preamp Ovation hardcase The guitar is in superb condition.really looked after.there are a couple of small laquer splits by the bridge but these are purely cosmetic, and common to these guitars.everything works as it should and it sounds the mutts nutts through a PA or acoustic amp. I also will include an Ovation Feedback buster which blocks off the soundhole for live use. heres the spec from the Ovation site http://www.ovationguitars.com/index.cfm?fa...l&mid=1318# looking for 350 notes + postage could be tempted to part ex for the usual suspects with me (MusicMan,G&L,Fender American Series etc)
12. welcome. snoop around!
13. just to say,if this is the Duncan STC 3M preamp the push/pull activates their "slap switch". theres a couple of trim pots on the pre amp board for bass boost and mid cut. going between the 2 sounds works great. BUMP for a great looking/featured StingRay
14.
Nice bass - looks remarkably like the Spector 5 that Alun (homerplaysbass) used to have a few years ago. If it is indeed the same one then it is a real cracking bass!
'tis the one.
15. got this Spector from TonyF here on BC back in october.I believe previously she was the property of a few other basschatters as well.
16. did you get my PM re the pedalboard?
17. I dont but my gf does.she sings out in a band and plays some guitar as well - her Ovation is called No Danger and her electric is Black baby Jesus . lol still funny after all this time
18.
PM'd! I want my AB-y back
PM replied to
Off topic, but.. How does that purple Delay sound? They're pretty cheap on the ol' 'bay..
Its got a fairly short range of delay up to about 300ms like the old Boss DM2s. if analague delay is your thing, you cant go wrong with one of these imo
19. I voted for the the Streamer. Like the Spector it copied, its my idea of how a non-Fender looking bass should look
20. I tried a couple of Warwicks in SC Glasgow City Centre yesterday.afterwards I took away one of their printed catalogues and leafing through it it struck me how many shapes they do. I'm not asking which is best,or about woods or p/ups - more to do with the basic shape and aesthetics when viewed straight on from in front of it.so all Streamers whether they're BO or NT are lumped together and the same for each model I've listed all their main body shapes bar the signature and acoustic/EUB models. I also included the Fortress as its back as a Rock bass and was around a fair number of years in the 90's.
