I wish the Helix was around ten years ago or more. I was doing the OTB stuff with a 24 band programmable EQ in my rack! I had about ten different programmes matching a range of different speakers - I actually have the same EQ out at the moment, which is fun!
  2. If the Peak District isn't too far away then www.shukerguitars.co.uk run various courses. Jon Shuker, of course, is one of the very best in the UK so you are in the hands of an expert.
  3. Genuinely, the shortest amount of time I've done a new band start up was just 7.5hrs before a headline set. No one in the band had played the songs together before and the guitarist was a jazzer who didn't even know how All Right Now went! - No rehearsal together either lol. The gig was a huge success and months later we formed a band with a different guitarist. There's something very exciting about flying by the seat of your pants. Not for the faint-hearted though. I should just say that between the four of us we'd notched up many, many years of playing. On the flipside, me and a very good friend of mine, a top session drummer, have been trying to do a band together for about ten years lol..
  4. Maybe a company that specialises in the shipment of musical instruments and other goods that require handling with real care is out there somewhere.
  5. If anyone is opening the current issue of Guitar Interactive Magazine (out today) you’ll hear lots of my Shuker bass featuring fresh D’Addario strings! Pro Steels this time. I love the NYXL strings, but I can’t say enough about the whole range. Literally something for everyone.
  6. p.s. yeah, of course, it's a chameleon flip paint finish!
  7. What?? You mean I haven't contributed to this thread yet? Or did I? This is my dream bass. It took lots of dreams actually. More emails and long telephone calls into the evening, Ten years later and as seen here she has had a complete refinish, some new hardware and a few updates ready for another ten years of service. Everything about this bass has been measured to fit as it were. Some of teh features are now standard order options over at Shuker Guitars.
  8. I guess folk were holding off due to Christmas. Often frowned upon by other family members when the biggest present in the house was bought by you, for you lol lol lol
  9. Playing the bass line verbatim is no hassle at all, it's a pretty straightforward affair. I just sometimes struggle with wading through the overwhelming amount of cheese in songs like this one. I know the audience will love it and we'll end up doing something cool with it, but even so! ha haha!! My Loggins troubles were a Danger Zone.
  10. We had band rehearsal last night and, well, I was really busy this week so I didn't get a proper amount of time to learn the new songs. It was suggested that we learn Footloose, but if I'm honest, I couldn't get into the song no matter how much I tried. Mods, can you help with my Loggins trouble?
  11. I was just about to post about my positive experiences of the Kenton! I’m so pleased it has found a busy new home So simple but so effective!
  12. My ole P Bass that reappeared on Basschat some 25 years after I sold it had a really nice neck with a fair amount of Bird’s Eye on it. The neck was an RI on a “70’s” body.

I can’t help feeling inspired Nick. I wanna get creating too! (Well, minus the skills you have lol!)
  14. Can’t argue with that. Gorgeous!
  15. Agreed. There is absolutely no reason why a guitar of this quality should have anything like the issues you have photographed. I would send the guitar back on principle. Even more so if I received that sort of message about it 'never being perfect'. Nonsense. Ibanez UK would probably like to hear about this too.
  16. Lots of quality power for not a lot of money! Have a bump and a recommendation from me!
  17. GP can indeed import PT's.
  18. I've had no problems with seeing signatures.. but then I can't remember if I made any changes to my settings after the upgrade. I'm IT savvy so tend to do stuff like that automatically without thinking.
  19. Sorry, I should have said Guitar Pro 7 ... I'm using 7.. I should have known ha ha! https://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php
  20. a GP file is a Guitar Pro file. The latest version of the application is Guitar Pro 6 and will happily open a GP5 file. There are probably other applications that might open this file, but they are generally rubbish
  21. I suspect what you are referring to is Polar Response, Dynamic Response and Transient Response as well as just the ability to be 'loud'!

Designs musical instruments as a day job..... In the words of Monty Python, "You lucky, luck b*stard!" ha ha ha - seriously though that sounds very cool. I would very much like to be added to the queue for the LT magnetic screen protector. I think the example here looks ace! Great work!!!
  23. “If only!” type post and bump! Beautiful instrument!
  24. I really like K&M gear. I use their guitar stands, the ones that hold 5 instruments, I have 2 side by side. Now, I'm not exactly stylish, but I did buy them because they matched the colour scheme in my studio. After that I realised how well made they were ha ha!!
