1. Anyone know of any good youtube vids with good comparisons? Have been looking but most of them are rubbish quality!
2. Scales and Arpeggios aren't a problem, know all my intervals, bass patterns I'm fine with just need to remember which names are for which riff (if that makes sense)... the only bits I need to work on over the next few weeks are the repetition of phrases and the performance really. Everything else I'm ok with, just need to keep practicing everything
3. Wooooooop! Typically it clashed with the Race for Life I'm doing as it's Sunday 18th July at 10am, but I've managed to switch races so now I've got my exam and my Race for Life to look forward to. Now the knuckling down begins! eeeeeeee I'm excited
4. Is it rosewood yea. I didn't think about wear and tear on the fretboard actually so I'm glad you mentioned that!
5. Bought an Ibanez GSR200 off him, a pleasure to deal with and allround top bloke Packaged really well and excellent communication throughout. Wouldn't hesistate to deal with again Thank you!
6. I've now got a Ibanez GSR200 which is about to be defretted by my luthier but I need to decide on strings. Apparently my options are flatwound, tapewound or half round... but I am totally clueless with fretless strings as this'll be my first! Any assistance would be appreciated
7. Difficult as I can see it from both sides of the fence.... Maybe have an open honest chat with them about you concerns re the comments etc and go from there?
8. I've got a GK backline 600. I LOVE it, the sound is amazing and it handles my low B brilliantly combined with a hartke hydrive 1x15. Trouble is the loudness! I've yet to get it past the 2nd notch!! lol
9.
I once stepped backwards halfway through a gig and trod on my bypass tuner, thus immediately muting my sound! Now I've found the tuner out on the GB, I use that these days.
Guitarist in a band I used to be in did this once, in the middle of a solo! Oh how I laughed.
10. I've got a Hartke Hydrive 1x15. I get so much bottom end I actually can't play it after about 8 at night as I'll upset the neighbours and my children who would be trying to sleep as it booms right through the house (and across the street!) even at low volume! I love my cab. Got it from Pete Academy's shop. Can't recommend hartke enough!!
11. I've got Fender's on mine at the mo. Have also used Ernie Ball slinky's without a problem.
12. I love the initial 'new bass' feeling but it takes me a bit of playing before I properly fall in love with a bass.
13.
Do you think anyone would get past "25 year old female 5 string bassist" before skipping to the phone number luv?
You're so going to get a slap
14.
A bloke whose lad has just returned from a guitar school in London told me his lad had been offered a job playing bass in a band. 'He'll find it easy, cos he's used to playing guitar.'
Has your lip recovered yet? Those bite marks must've hurt!
15.
or.... Hot Girl Bass player. Job done
16. "25 year old female 5 string bassist looking for regular gigging band that doesn't fall apart because of guitarist egos, drummers who can't hold a can of beer let alone a beat, or singers who think they're the next axl rose/Steve tyler/James Hetfieldand leave in sight of 'bigger things' only to end up doing back alley pub karaoke gigs. Also not interested in screamo kids who plan on writing something 'new, unique, out-there and never seen before' only for it to turn into a 2 hour 'shout down the mic as loud as you can while the 'new' style they're writing is in fact 20 years old. Yes, I'm female but that doesn't mean that you can take the piss/sexually harass me, call me 'luv' and allow your girlfriends to direct their pathetic 12 yr old insecurities and jealousy on me. Expect them to have their jordanesque little faces beaten in should they threaten me for 'steelin mah byfnd innit!' simply because I've shared the same breathing space as you. Own gear and transport, gig experience and patience of a saint. Sarah 07817 xxxxxx"
17. My guitard boyfriend does this. He picks up my bass and plays it for 5 mins before moaning that his fingers are hurting.
18. This is why I have (currently) 1 bass. My 5er. However I *like* to have one for every job, so am about to get a 4 string fretless, and in the future am planning on getting a 4 string for slap, as although I can (kind of lol) slap on my 5, the string spacing is very narrow so it's hard going.
19. Ibanza? Is that an 'off the back of a lorry' ibanez?
20. Looks like my prayers have been answered... will post details and pics as/when I get it woop!

22. I don't mind 4 or 5 string really. I think for a starter a 4 string would be better then once I've got the grasp of that would go on to a fretless 5...
23. Got my RGT grade 4 exam soon. Apparently they give 2-3 weeks notice and it's 'sometime in june/july' so not long now
24. Budget is cheap as possible as I'm saving for a new car!! lol
