  1. The East end of Glasgow, a quaint reservation in the Jewel in the crown, near Celtic park. That BB800 was on sale for a while, started out about £500 then £400. But it was for sale in Elderslie if I remember right. Either they changed the location to get more views around the Glasgow area or someone bought it and got a surprise I would like to know what is under that stupid looking, cheap Jazz cover.
  2. True. I went to trade in a bass a few years back and Paul was honest in saying that he would only give me half the value that they would sell it for. He advised me to sell it on Facebook or similar. Still it wasn`t as bad as Victor Morris (the Glasgow punters will know them well!) who offered me £30 for an almost brand new Squire P bass yonks ago. The only shop I know where you could buy a guitar and a crossbow at the same place!
  3. Elsie!
  4. I have owned a few Yamaha motorbikes over the years and never heard the word Yammy. It`s a Yam! But the way I have been carrying on with numbers recently in this topic, I shall slink away.....
  5. After watching that clip, thank the Lord I didn`t buy it!
  6. Paul in the bass department in the Glasgow store is a nice guy, always telling you to try a bass out. In the hope of a sale of course! That was back in the day when you could actually go into a shop and buy something. Madness I know but thats what happened back in the "good olde days" I have bought loads off them over the years and it has been mostly good. And DPD are cool.
  7. Thanks for the nice comments above, the bass is now sold!
  8. Having had a good think about it, I`m not going to go ahead and buy it. Whilst it was available for a good price, I just have too many reservations about the bass. So it will be off to Bassdirect soon for not such a good price lol. Thanks for all the suggestions!
  9. Can`t remember. It was a black one and the cream scratch plate put me off, sounds daft but hey any excuse to move onto something new. I`m going between the 434 and 734, I think the 34 is a bit too much cash.
  10. Ash bought my P bass from me. He is a top bloke and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks!
  11. Shush! I don`t think anyone else has noticed.....
  12. Right I`m going to throw myself on the mercy of the BB collective. As the GAS is strong and a RicinB*stard is now out the window, a BB may be in the frame. Had a BB 434 - nice bass, BB 735a - wasnt keen on the black finish and didn`t really give it much of a chance. But I have been looking at a BBP34 but is it worth almost twice the price of the 735a? Or is it worth almost 3 times the price of a 434? All 3 under consideration are sunburst ish. Of course being a fickle bampot, I may change my mind and get something else entirely! But it gives us something to talk about.
  13. Oky doky, how about £350 posted UK?
  14. Greetin, a fine old Glasgow word. I could have sold it a few times over. I never knew they were so popular. Unlike my other sales!

  16. Our last gig was November 2019 and we were in the studio a few times early last year due to breaking in our new singer. We were in once last September between lock downs and the musical side of the band were bang on. But the singer needs some time to get on it again I reckon.
  17. NOW SOLD. Here is a 2002/2003 Mexican Jazz bass. I think the colour is sage green? It has had a life before I got it. Condition: Not so good bits Body has a dent on the edge, it looks like it has been dropped. The scratchplate is er scratched and has some marks on it. The bell housing was covered in crud of some description and you can see some light scratching on it. The headstock end is marked as per photo. There is some pitting on the pickup poles but this doesn`t effect the pickups at all. A couple of small dents on the back of the neck. The good bits It sounds great, just like a good Jazz should. It has very little fret wear and the rosewood board has been oiled and looks nice and dark. The rest of the body apart from the dent described above, is in great condition. It has new Fender strings. It a Fender for the price of a Squier. Weight is 4.2 kg or 9.2 lb`s. *********************************** Like I say, this bass has been gigged and has a few cosmetic issues but it`s nearly 20 years old. It looks really cool in the green finish and it`s cheap!! The price is £380 delivered to UK mainland or £365 collected from Paisley but that will need to be worked out due to the usual. Bank transfer preferred but if you want to use paypal, we can sort it out.
  18. Thanks for all the suggestions. Having checked out some reviews on YT it seems that they are very much a marmite bass so I will have to have a think. It would mean moving some others out but I have too many anyway. I would hate to take it off the guy and then have to sell it which isn`t so easy thanks to Mr Hall
  19. A mate is selling the above and has offered it to me for mates rate but I have never played one. I only play fingerstyle and looking online at pics I can`t see where I would anchor my thumb. Is there anywhere or is it a non starter? Don`t tell me to use a pick as it isn`t going to happen, too many years with my thumb on a Fender pickup. Any advice appreciated.
  20. Right final price drop to £700 plus £30 insured delivery UK mainland only. Not looking for trades anymore due to incoming goodies!
  21. The Ibanez 300 or better still the 500, are excellent basses. Nice slim necks and decent eq. They will make your old Stagg feel like something from the 80`s. The 1880`s to be precise!
  22. 👍 I get that, you either love it or don`t. I bought the white one which looks better to me.
  23. That newish Paranormal Jazz is superb. Great build quality, simply the best Squier I have owned. The looks are a bit quirky and its not a lightweight but for around £360, far better than a Classic Vibe model. The Paranormal is made in China and the CV in Indonesia. Check out Lobsters review for he speaketh the truth!
