  1. GK NEO 115 III in great condition. Huge-sounding cab and lightweight to boot, just need different gear for upcoming commitments. Some very minor marks to the tolex and scuffing to the plastic feet, but nothing significant. Includes padded Roqsolid cover. http://www.gallien-krueger.com/neo-115-specs £275 collected from Manchester, or happy to meet within reasonable distance. Cheers, Tobie
  2. Nigh on immaculate GK MB500 with GK case, footswitch and manual. Amp is super lightweight, loud and transparent. Case is of really good quality, with a usefully-sized pocket. Brilliant amp, with which I have not qualms whatsoever, just need something different for forthcoming work. http://www.gallien-krueger.com/mb-500-specs £300 collected from Manchester, or happy to meet within reasonable distance (add £15 for postage). Cheers, Tobie

  5. Totally agree with this - B strings can be terrible on badly-made basses, but that doesn't mean that Bs on all scale lengths other than super long (over 34'') are bad, in fact far from it - I've heard 32'' fivers that sound stellar. IMO of course.
  6. Cort, Yamaha TRB/TRBX, MTD Kingston or Ibby SR if you you want the active modern vibe (looks and sound). Sire (versatile preamp) or Yamaha BB for more traditional looks. My tuppence worth. Tobie
  7. I want a good quality Stingray 'equivalent' without the pricetag. I don't think they're overkill at all, rather a classic sound where they've been used effectively. Each to their own and all that...
  8. Controversial question: will the G&L Kiloton be capable of approximating a Stingray tone when used with an outboard preamp? Kiloton player opinions generally? Cheers, Tobie
  9. Cheers Chris, but just to be clear I'm looking for recommendations specifically based on the criteria in my first post. I use 112s at the moment, but looking for a 212. Cheers, Tobie
  10. Cheers for the input all - the BC machine never disappoints!
  11. I was only looking for opinions, but quite tempted anyway.
  12. Looking for a 2x12. MUST BE: Transparent, featherweight, 4ohm, vertically aligned. The less spendy the better, but not looking to scrimp either. Fire away!
  13. I owned this and did the upgrades - really growls with the DiMarzios. These instruments punch well above their weight, even without the upgrades. I can't imagine a better 'budget' jazz. Kev's a gent too. Tobie
  14. Really great, these. I miss mine and if I didn't live in a second-floor flat I'd have this in a heartbeat. Absolute bargain considering quality and volume. I suspect these will become classic combos in future. Deal in confidence with Stuart too. Tobie
