  1. Five Fender patch cables. High quality cables in good condition. £15, posted. Cheers, Tobie
  2. The classic mad box of tricks! Very good condition, with box and manual. £45, posted. Cheers, Tobie
  3. You're right - those octaves are taxing, but I suppose I've found that my satisfaction in playing covers comes from trying to emulate the nuances of the original. I try and avoid 'interpreting' unless it's essential, for whatever reason. Not perhaps the most pragmatic approach to covers material, but it irritates me doing otherwise. Thanks for the heads up on the Arturia too - I'll check it out.
  4. You're right - the Panda Audio looks promising, but is a bit spendy(!) and it's unclear from that demo what it can actually do.
  5. Thanks Al. I find this pretty hard to believe - There's a whole host of esoteric/unusable synth sounds available in pedal form. Why isn't this base (pun intended), which has obvious applications, covered? Perplexing!
  6. Looking for these synth sounds in a pedal. Can get in the ball park with drives and filters, but obviously whiffs of drives and filters! Please help! Tobie
  7. An brilliant combo, for a bargain price. What's not to like? Glwts - one lucky combo-lover's in for a treat. Tobie
  8. GK NEO 115 III in great condition. Huge-sounding cab and lightweight to boot, just need different gear for upcoming commitments. Some very minor marks to the tolex and scuffing to the plastic feet, but nothing significant. Includes padded Roqsolid cover. http://www.gallien-krueger.com/neo-115-specs £275 collected from Manchester, or happy to meet within reasonable distance. Cheers, Tobie
  9. Nigh on immaculate GK MB500 with GK case, footswitch and manual. Amp is super lightweight, loud and transparent. Case is of really good quality, with a usefully-sized pocket. Brilliant amp, with which I have not qualms whatsoever, just need something different for forthcoming work. http://www.gallien-krueger.com/mb-500-specs £300 collected from Manchester, or happy to meet within reasonable distance (add £15 for postage). Cheers, Tobie

  12. Totally agree with this - B strings can be terrible on badly-made basses, but that doesn't mean that Bs on all scale lengths other than super long (over 34'') are bad, in fact far from it - I've heard 32'' fivers that sound stellar. IMO of course.
  13. Cort, Yamaha TRB/TRBX, MTD Kingston or Ibby SR if you you want the active modern vibe (looks and sound). Sire (versatile preamp) or Yamaha BB for more traditional looks. My tuppence worth. Tobie
  14. I want a good quality Stingray 'equivalent' without the pricetag. I don't think they're overkill at all, rather a classic sound where they've been used effectively. Each to their own and all that...
  15. Controversial question: will the G&L Kiloton be capable of approximating a Stingray tone when used with an outboard preamp? Kiloton player opinions generally? Cheers, Tobie
  16. Cheers Chris, but just to be clear I'm looking for recommendations specifically based on the criteria in my first post. I use 112s at the moment, but looking for a 212. Cheers, Tobie
