  1. Cheers for the input all - the BC machine never disappoints!
  2. I was only looking for opinions, but quite tempted anyway.
  3. Looking for a 2x12. MUST BE: Transparent, featherweight, 4ohm, vertically aligned. The less spendy the better, but not looking to scrimp either. Fire away!
  4. I owned this and did the upgrades - really growls with the DiMarzios. These instruments punch well above their weight, even without the upgrades. I can't imagine a better 'budget' jazz. Kev's a gent too. Tobie
  5. Really great, these. I miss mine and if I didn't live in a second-floor flat I'd have this in a heartbeat. Absolute bargain considering quality and volume. I suspect these will become classic combos in future. Deal in confidence with Stuart too. Tobie
  6. I recently bought a bass from Wunjo and had the best buying experience I've ever had. The guys were helpful and 'appropriately attentive' when I first visited; did me a great deal when I called to order a similar model to one I tried (offering alternatives on loan when the order time was longer than expected too - I didn't need to take up the offer, but appreciated what is surely beyond the call of duty) and specific delivery requirements were no trouble. After disappointing shenanigans with various shops and online retailers in recent years, this was a breath of fresh air - I felt looked after by real people, who cared about their customers. I will go out of my way (I live in Manchester) to give them my custom again in the future. All in all, a confidence-restoring experience with a real music shop. Cheers Wunjo! Tobie
  7. Love them, though I haven't tried a custom medium-scale fiver set

  9. I normally can't stand three tone sunbursts, but something about this bucks the trend - it looks mightily fine. GLWTS

  11. Love a Jazz for the bark and bite of the bridge pup and the rounded thump of the neck pup, just hate the necks themselves.
  12. My sentiments exactly - I've got a 50s P incoming for this very reason.
  13. Some P basses are up to 45mm, so the difference can be significant and certainly noticeable . Appreciate not everyone's bothered by this, but interested as to the consensus.
  14. There are multiple options available on that front...
  15. Some good points here. I certainly agree that the thinner is 'faster' assumption is flawed. As a thumb behind the fretboard guy, I'm still irritated by a diddy width, but it's not a deal-breaker (as perhaps a chunky neck may be for the thumb-over fellows). String-spacing at the bridge is a different question, but possibly of greater concern to many.
