1.
I very much doubt I will be gigging, I imagine I would be playing quite a varied range however mainly rock etc and using some effects however mainly Chorus. I was considering a Peavey 115 however I decided against it as you could not make an effects loop. The Orange amp sounds nice to my ears however it is very large and seems very expensive for only 100 watts. I think I would probably be more suited to the Ashdown. But I know that sound is all down to the way you play, quality of the leads etc.....
To be fair, if you don't plan on gigging any time soon then a practice amp around 20-40 watts will do the trick. I use a Fender Rumble 40 which is great, lightweight but loud enough for bedroom practice and playing with quieter drummers. Peavey gear is rock solid and will last for years. If you can deal with the weight, then it's a worthwhile investment. I've used Ashdown gear before and it was perfectly fine, and I don't have any personal experience with Orange bass gear.
2. Hey there, welcome to the forum. You'll find a whole bunch of people will be more than willing to share their views with you, but we probably need to know a little more about you, and how you'll be using your amp to make our suggestions useful! I'll get you started. What kind of music are you going to be playing? Are you gigging, or just jamming at home/with friends?
3.
Assuming you are willing/able to send, any idea of a rough price of postage? Cheers
Hey there, Roughly £15-£20 in the UK - I need to stress that I don't have a hard case, so it would be shipped in padded gig bag, plenty of bubble wrap, encased in a shed load of cardboard 😊 Thanks, Dave
4.
Hi! Would you ship this to France? Best! Pierre-Louis
Hey Pierre-Louis, I haven't shipped internationally before, but I will have a look into costs and drop you a PM. Thanks, Dave
5.
If the pic is the actual unit! Then it's the version 2
It is! Thanks for the heads up, I'll update the thread.
6.
Yo. I'm currently away being married, but if this is still around in a week's time, I'll grab it!!
PM incoming mate 😊
7. Pretty much going to echo the feedback you already have. I have a Deluxe Active P from 04/05 and it's a total workhorse - I'll never get rid of it. That said, my two other Mex basses from 14-16, and another one that I have since sold have all arguably been better quality. Ignoring all of the above, go play it, if you can't play it but you're happy with the price on offer, buy it, and you can always move it on if you don't agree with it.
8. Tech 21 VT Bass in excellent condition. Only gigged a few times, and still have the original 'tin' and all the gubbins that come inside. After £90 collected from SE20, or happy to ship at cost.
9. One Korg AX10B multi-effects pedal for sale. Still in the original box, and in relatively good condition for the age. After £35 collected from SE20, but will ship at cost.
10. Hi folks, it's been a while! I rather unfortunately have to let this wonderful instrument leave after 3 years of enjoyment. It's in perfect nick having only been played in the house, and comes with a spare set of D'Addario strings included in the price. I also have the original Wunjo receipt which I will pass on to the lucky buyer. Looking for £230, which is a steal given the current retail price of these things. Collection from SE20 is preferred, but happy to arrange a F2F in London, and will consider shipping further afield at cost. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking, I've embedded one here (the uploader hates me) but there are more at the link down below. https://photos.app.goo.gl/kkgAE140Tool3kR72
11. Wowwwww. Need to make some space on my rack.
12. Lovely bass. I'm a big fan of everything except the colour scheme, I thought Fender could've been a little more imaginative, especially as it's a limited run. That's personal preference though!
13. That is a COOL bass. Sound really cuts through the mix.
14. Agree with most here. The guitar is lush, the bass...not so much.
15. Very good basses in my limited experience. Played a couple on Denmark St previously, both super comfortable, very well built with a good range of sounds. I think the slider would be great in gigging situations where you need to quickly switch between sounds - there was a noticeable difference between each of the settings.
16. The J&D stuff is top notch. I regret selling my J&D Jazz now, but I had a new bass incoming at the time so it had to go!
17.
Nothing putting me off the mex just wondering if i missing something the mex is top of my list
My mistake! Had mine for a little over ten years now and it's never failed. The odd bit of wear, but nothing unusual!
