  1. I think it's just because it's my first 5 string and I'm not used to it. I've had a lot of Ibby basses. From the original small bodied SRs, to a 1300PM, and a neck through Prestige (which was curiously bland sounding 🤯) as well a 25th Anni Stingray, just for a change but they've all been 4 string. I'm a bit worried about the Roland pickup's double sided tape marking the finish in case I really don't get on with the 1305. Obviously my 30th Anni is far too pretty to install the GK3 on 😉
  2. Thinking I maybe should have bought the SR1300 rather tha1305 ? Don't know whether to try and swap it, sell it, or persevere and try and buy another. I was going to use the 1305 with a GK3B pickup and Boss SY-1000.
  3. Thank you. New Premium 1305 5 string. I'll have to find a pic of the SR30th anni
  4. Mad Ibanez numbering 😁 I do love it though. …...and, it's NBD for me as I collected the 1305 today too. Had a quick play. Nice sounds and feel. Though I will have to get used to it, as its my first 5 string.
  5. I should never post when I'm sleepy. This would be a 1305, not a 1205. Doh ! I also think my SR30th is just a 1204 with holes in 😁
  6. Ooops ! After having a 800, 1300pm, 1000 prestige, I'm now on the SR30 4 string, but I thought it was about time I tried a 5 string, so it should arrive this week. Looking forward to it. Just that nobody seemed to have one.
  7. Never ever seem to see a SR1205 Ibby mentioned in the thread. Waiting on delivery. Everything seemed to check out. 16.5mm spacing, circuit and Nordy BS's the same as on my 30th anniversary SR4. Just wondering ?
  8. Beautiful...but above my price range. GLWTS
  9. I thought that was his brother..."Lurpak" Known for his buttery tone 🙂 IGMC Seriously RNR HOF ?

Well, I'd have to buy a GK3B (again) and another bass to put it on. it's mounting up ! Not long sold a couple of GKBs, a GR55 and a GK, and well before that a VB99. I'd have to see the manual and give it a try first this time. I found the GR55 a disappointment, so its Helix at the mo for bass and guitar with GP-10 for guitar synth

I know, but there are bass models on it. You just have to play them with a GK. If you like doing that. I was using a GR55 with a GK3B equipped bass, and the bass models are the same.

Nope. My question was is the bass (and guitar for that matter) modelling going to have some more of the VB99 virtual models, rather than the subset of them found in the GP-10 and GR-55, which amounted to Pbass, Jbass, and a strange acoustic guitar bass. I was thinking more of the fretless, double bass, the one whose name we may never utter (RK), the likes of the defretter etc. The bass models WOULD need a GK2/3B, also if you want to use pitch to midi.

https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/boss-sy-1000-guitar-synthesizer Did we know about this ? Complete with bass mode a la GR-55, but boasting an acoustic bass model and unspecified poly FX. Hopefully from the VB99 such as the defretter. I really miss the fretless electric and Double Bass mode. Though if its just a merger of the GR-55 and the SY-300 I won't bother.
  15. Martin bought an Aria TSB350 from me. A gentleman and a bass player. Totally painless. Thanks Martin

  18. Roland GR-55 Guitar and Bass synth (can be switched between both). Black Edition. Excellent condition with power supply and manual.Works perfectly. Basically up to 2 pcm synths and 1 COSM modelling engine (detuning, amp, selection, FX, PU, etc.) can be combined to make a patch using either a GK3 (guitar), or GK3B (Bass)Hex pickup. I have one of each, but don't know if I have to have separate ads. I could throw in them both and a bunch of fixings for an extra £60. The GK3B looks a bit scruffy but works great. I'll also include a 2.5m 13pin cable if taking the lot. Roland says this: More info here https://www.roland.com/uk/products/gr-55/
