1. I'd ask Yamaha to make me a replica of James Lomenzo's Custom Shop BB bass (below) Wired slightly different to the Attitude II basses but has the same concept and the body is a bit smaller than a standard BB. The neck also draws me in with the black binding and diamond inlays. Also, that burst... Oh! Only differences I'd have in it though are the pickups, I'd swap the 2 Dimarzio P pick ups for a pair of Seymour Duncan SPB-4s (Steve Harris signature pick ups)
2. Does anyone know where I would be able to get one for that sort of price? I'd love to get one as a back up to my current one and kit it out just like the one I have. I actually got given a purple one by a friend who gave up playing. The original pick ups in it weren't bad but I had to do the usual and stick some Seymour Duncans in it. Probably want to get one in blue or pink but has to have a maple board on it to match the other one Cheers!
3. Here's my twins. Fender Steve Harris P Bass (2010, added SPB-4 Steve Harris pickups and graph tech black tusq nut) and a Westfield P Bass that's been, ahem, slightly modified (CTS pots, SPB-1 pick up, graph tech black tusq nut and of course a mirrored pick guard). Fender straps with scarf sock covers too.
4. I'd gig the hell out of that! That metal flake is absolutely beautiful and with purple being my favourite colour... well let's just say I love it! Admittedly, i'd swap out the active electrics for a passive SD pick up but that's just me!
5.
Your wish is my command! I shall do some when my fretless P project has been completed.
Thanks very much JimBob! You should demo them both at once on a youtube video or something, would be nice to hear the tonal range between the two. Gorgeous pair of basses you have there.
6. As you guys may re-call, I was looking in to getting something to overdrive my tone with. Well, I think i'm just going to give in a go for a Sansamp even though I said I'm not a huge fan of them. They seem to be able to get the gritty old school tube driven sound i'm after and from what I've heard on tone samples etc, they work so damn well with the Hartke LH series (I personally have the 500 but am thinking of eventually swapping that out for the 1000) I may seem a bit stupid with some of my questions here but please hear me out and humour me... 1: It has an un-affected output. Will this be PURELY the tone from my bass or will it be a boosted clean that the sansamp renders? (reason I ask is because i'm running a dual output on one of my basses so I need one output to be purely clean for running to a separate equaliser for a low end tone) 2: When you plug in to the "2nd input" on the back, does that over ride the front input or does the front input over ride the back one? (As my rig is rack mounted i'd probably use the 2nd input to be honest) 3: Roughly where would you have to run the mid dial on the RBI to be the same as what it is on the Bass Driver DI pedal?(as the BDDI doesn't have a mid control and i'll be honest, I quite like the mid-range it has on it) Cheers!
7. Oh man, why have I only just seen this? This is ridiculously beautiful! You need to do some sound samples pleaaaaase!
8. Man that is one of the nicest looking Jazz Basses i've ever seen. Really not helping my G.A.S. for a stacked knob and bound/dot markered Jazz. Only things I'd do differently are maple board, badass ii bridge and natural headstock but what you've done is so damn nice!
9. Sound samples please! I am really interested to hear what the Telebucker sounds like mixed with the P pick up. Well done dude, that's one awesome looking mod you've done there.
10. Depends how much you value your bass. My first bass was a piece of crap but I loved it so much I stuck a badass bridge and set of Seymour Duncan pick ups in it. If you love it and value it then do it. My recommendation is a Badass II or just look on eBay at one of the £12 high mass 5 bolt bass bridges. I've used them a few times and they're really good. Ps: personally I would as I think those GSR 200's are excellent basses. Really good especially for a beginner but still good for gigging and recording at a higher level. Good luck!

12.
It's all from his fingers..... ....and the 2 flightcases full of rack equipment he has. Someone had a decent pic of it a couple of years ago and managed to identify almost everything in there but don't ask me where the thread is now.
That would of been me. I had a picture from Kevin Shirley's diary of Steve's recording and touring rig from Brave New World through to A Matter of Life and Death. as I'm a Steve Harris geek/nut/stalker, I've got details of pretty much all his rigs. The SHBL studio and live rig was: Nady wireless system, Electron HiWatt clone pre amp x2, Hiwatt Model 109 pre amp x2, DBX 164 compressor, Ampeg SVT4-Pro head, a couple of Korg DT-10 tuners, Ampeg SVT810 cabinets. Basses: Mainly his 1972 Fender P bass which has seen 5 paint jobs (currently the West Ham colours but originally white, then black, then metallic blue, then black and white chequerboard but now West Ham colours), 1959 P bass in sparkle metallic red, Fender Signature P Bass, Another Fender signature P Bass with West Ham colours as a replica of the 72. Other basses he has used are a couple of Ibanez Roadsters (one was used on Run To the Hills), a couple of Lado basses (the Falcon and the Unicorn with the Unicorn being his signature Lado bass and was seen on the Aces High/2 Minutes to Midnight videos) then for acoustic basses he uses an Ovation Electro Acoustic (this is the bass used on the intro to Blood on the Worlds Hands, Clansman, Journey Man etc). A couple of other un-noted basses have been used over the years. All his Precision Basses are loaded with Seymour Duncan pick ups, Badass II bridges, chrome brass pickguards and 250k pots. All basses have been loaded with his signature Rotosound Monel Flatwound strings (SH77 model number, 50-110 gauge) and have super low action to get that clanky sound. The tone pots on all his P basses are bypassed and he taps his nose to Michael Kenney (Iron Maiden's keyboardist and Steve's long time tech) to turn the treble up or down. This is mainly seen on "Maiden England 88". He never warms up, just powders his fingers. His monitor mix on stage is just (and to quote Steve himself) "a smatterin' of toms with a smidge of me own vocals and bass". Any other questions, please feel free to ask
13. Easy for me. Fender American Standard Precision Bass (2007 model, badly set up and poor build quality) or the Warwick 5 string Buzzard that was in the Bass Cellar in london. No wonder it was in there for so many years. So many reasons for the Warwick Buzzard.
14.
I thought he was a staunch Marshall man!
He was, he used the JCM 800 Bass Series which has also been and gone on eBay but in the later years, he was seen using this Ampeg rig
15. Well, thanks to Mr TommoRichards, I have managed to wire my bass exactly how I wanted it. 2 volume, 2 tone all running separately. Works like a dream and sounds amazing. The man is a genius, i'd recommend talking to him if you ever have any issues!
