Hey guys Up for sale today is my Morley Dual Bass wah pedal. I've decided to sell it as I just don't find much use for it any more. I used to use it for Metallica/Black Sabbath/Ted Nugent covers and a few bass solos in my old band but now I'm just not using it. Think I've actually used it twice in 5 months. It's got a few marks on it but has been checked over to make sure everything is as it should be by a friend at my local guitar shop in Bedford. I don't really know what else to say about it apart from that it's working perfectly and sounds really cool, especially with the Funk Wah setting enabled. Here's the blurb from Amazon

Switchless design Simply step on to engage wah mode and step off to go to bypass
Two foot selectable wah modes Traditional wah and funk wah
Level knob alters wah output in either wah mode
Electro optical circuitry no pots to wear out
True tone bypass ensures pure tone and maintains signal in bypass or either wah model
If you would like any other information, please let me know. Collection is welcome or I will post it at cost. I'm looking for £50 or nearest sensible offer for it. Thanks
Kill switch? Handy if you want it to be quiet but you don't want to mess up your volume settings if you've got 'em set.
Already got a killswitch fitted from when I had the active electronics to stop battery drain and popping when removing the cable etc. but cheers for the suggestion anyway
Or blank off the hole with a plug of some kind. Maplin do black plastic blanking plugs in various diameters.
Nooooo god no thanks no. It would look so wrong and the bass is my cherished pride and joy haha
I reckon as above. Or a rotary switch engaging different value capacitors for the tone pot.
Hmm, interesting, that could be something I'll look in to. Where would I be able to get one of these from?
I'd give each pickup it's own volume and tone knob. That would seem to be the most versatile choice that gets you your four pots. Edit: Am I right in thinking those pickups can be coil tapped? If they can I'd use push pull pots for the tone knobs and use them for tapping the coils. I did this in my Dean Cadillac (sorry it's not a bass) and it's the best, most versatile/useful, mod I've ever done.
To be honest pal, i don't think they are. Doesn't say anything about them being coil tappable on the website else I would consider that as it would give me that Jazz bass tone when wanted/needed. Most likely am going to just end up going for a volume and tone on each pick up providing it'll work like that properly. Again, thanks for the suggestion though.
I did the former on my Ibanez SR800. It has a Les Paul pickup selector switch, two volumes, one tone
I'm seriously considering this option. I'm not sure it would look right on my bass though and i'm weird with it, I like things to look right. It is a damn good suggestion though and thank you

Hey guys Basically, I've just stripped the active electronics out of my bass and replaced the pick ups with passive Seymour Duncan SSB-5 soap bars. Problem is, the recommended wiring is essentially jazz bass wiring which is 2 volume and 1 tone but my bass has holes for 4 potentioments and I don't want to leave one of the holes opened. I don't want to go fitting an active pre amp again either. I was thinking of adding a 3 way switch and going Les Paul style but I'm not sure on it. Another option I thought of was to run each pick up to their own volume then off to a blend pot then a tone pot. Not sure on what to do though. Can anyone help please? Thanks

GET YOUR PEAVEY's OUT - American Rudy Sarzo Signature
Biaeothanata-Bassist replied to BassManGraham's topic in Gear Gallery
Just replying to who asked what has happened to the Peavey Rudy Sarzo series, it seems he's gone back to playing Spector basses more now. He apparently used a Spector with Geoff Tit's rip off of Queensryche to record "Frequency Unknown" and has been seen using them more live than any other basses. Also he's switching a lot between the Acoustic amps and Ampeg amps on the road but yeah, the Spectors are what he's using with Queensryche. Maybe Geoff asked (told) him to use them as Eddie Jackson used to use them with QR back on "Operation: Mindcrime" and the such. Sorry, back to the Peavey porn now! -
Squier VMJ Under Pickguard Photos?
Biaeothanata-Bassist replied to Samashton12's topic in Bass Guitars
I'm off to have one of the white VMJ basses ordered to my local music shop tomorrow. Like you I would of preferred it if the neck route was direct round the pick up as i like having the pickguard off too but I suppose you can't win them all! -
I have! I went from a P bass copy with the usual 1 volume 1 tone but had the tone control removed. After that, I went to a BC Rich Mockingbird Heritage with all the fancy bells and whistles and a Tobias bass with upgraded EMG electrics, 4 band on board EQ etc which was my main bass for 2 years. I'm now back on a Fender Precision Bass and a Westfield copy P Bass (as a back up) that's been modded so it's the same as the Fender (pick ups, bridge etc). I'm playing in a Blackened Death Metal band now btw. I've used P Basses in bands ranging from soft rock to this current band. Never needed anything with the bells and whistles, just a case of wanted all that stuff! Men and their gadgets n' all... Unpopular opinion of the day, if you can't get a usable, decent tone from either a Precision Bass or Jazz Bass, you're doing it wrong!

Hey guys I'm offering up a set of Dimarzio Will Power Middle P bass pick ups with pre-wired wiring loom, 250k potentiometers and switchcraft jack input all ready wired up and ready to go in the bass. You just need to attach your own earthing cable. These are the same pickups used by Billy Sheehan and by Yamaha in all his Attitude basses. I've had these fitted in a bass for a while now but I want both my P basses matched up so i'm going to fit the Steve Harris pick ups in to this one too. The sale price is[s] £50[/s] £40!. Collection is welcome or I will post for £5 on top. I need these to go so they're priced to sell! Thanks B-B

I've just bought Colin's Hartke amp off him. Gotta say, couldn't of been an easier bloke to deal with. He messaged me about the amp and held it for a while for me whilst I sold my amp. I contacted him Monday saying I'd got the money and he even drove it over that evening! I'd happily buy from Col again if something I wanted came up. Top bloke! Thanks very much mate!

I know it's not the best idea but I looked on the colour chart it had up and it said "Fender Guitar" under the one I chose as well as looking exactly the same shade as the actual neck. Hopefully it'll all arrive by Friday so I'll upload pictures once I've installed the nut, fixed the damage and sorted the end of the headstock out too. Cheers for your help mate!

Thanks for all the replies guys, i've only just seen this. Completely forgot about it. To get one custom made seems really expensive so i'm not going to go down that route but thanks for the recommendations. To me it seems a real pain in the back side to get hold of one and an expensive process so I might just leave it for now and either tune a 4 string down to B E A D or just get a 5 but not bother with the woofer. Oh and with the EMG recommendation, I really am not a fan of their pick ups any more. I used them on 2 of my basses and didn't like them so i'm sticking to Seymour Duncan and DiMarzio pick ups. Thanks though!

Hey guys I just managed to Chip a tiny bit of the lacquer on my Fender P bass neck. It's a maple boarded P with an Amber tint nitrocellulose finish. I was removing the top nut as I'm replacing it with a Graphtech one and this happened. I'm not massively fussed about it but I decided to order some amber tint lacquer in a bottle (cost a fiver, not a huge loss) but here's my question. I am planning on (with a very fine brush) drop touching the chip up on it. Do you think this will work properly? I was going to repair the damaged area (fret side of the nut) then install the new nut, glue it in place and then finely run a layer of the lacquer either side of the nut to seal in any other cracks it caused. Also got one or two dinks on the end of the head stock which I'll drop fill too. Has anyone done this before and will it work properly? I've attached a picture of the damaged nut area. Cheers!

I just sold Peter my Markbass amp head. He's a real pleasure to deal with. Messaged me about it, paid the next day and he was genuinely a nice guy to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate to send the item first in future. Thanks Pete, I hope you enjoy the amp as much as I did. -Biaeothanata-Bassist-
