Well, my gig last week didn't happen. It was supposed to be outside, but the weather was bad so they moved it inside and the guitarist who has just moved back in with his parents wasn't prepared to risk the family having to isolate (didn't mention actually getting ill). I don't think he really wanted to do it anyway, but either way not criticising his choice, only worth doing if every is happy. It was also unpaid, and after they handled it (not mentioning we weren't playing on the site) I don't feel bad about it from that point of view. Would have been nice though. I think with the rumours of lockdown coming, I will just hang up the stuff for the year!

Is there anywhere that isn't crazy price where you can get a bass refinished in a print? I tried myself but turns out badly, I have to accept I have the guitar finishing skills of a computer programmer! Seems guitars are the only ones that get this sort of treatment from fender apart from the paisley jazz recently at a very high price. This is the sort of thing I would like: https://shop.fender.com/en-GB/electric-guitars/other/shawn-mendes-foundation-musicmaster/0140292523.html As I am sure everyone will agree, that is great and would perfect as a bass in a death metal group or something

No intel but I reckon they will expand on the EHBs (and maybe produce more). I am planning on not buying any basses next year. I won't be surprised if I fail!

Oh that looks nice, what are they like?

If it was me, I probably wouldn't show people pictures of the ones that I had stolen

Nice ibanez, but then I would say that. Other than the missing string of course - just kidding, I do have a 4 string Ibanez that looks similar to that (my SR1000), and I keep it because it was my first proper bass when I started again, but I just don't really play 4s. Welcome to the bass world anyway!

Haven't used one but they seem reasonably well rated for the price. I always wanted a triton taktile to do that sort of thing, but that is a lot more money again, and to be fair, I have quite a lot of things that could be used as a master keyboard!

I would not be averse to. Cheers. I have actually never had a problem with behringer stuff, just wondered because they have their outlet on eBay which does some good prices. I guess the thing now is I have all the time in the world to think about it!

Mine neither - I didn't use it often when gigging and that was a long time ago. Should sell it really, but dont' really want to.

Spent ages learning the bass to that, then the group changed a bit and decided not to do it! -
And my appointment was in March 2020. Then March 2020 struck and obviously, it couldn't happen because well, march 2020. So they sent me a message saying they had to close it down. Last month they sent me a message saying they were opening it up, and so today I trotted down to quite a nice practice studio in Bristol, and had my ears measured. I have have got healthy ears apparently, and they work well, which was a surprise to my wife So now I wait 3 weeks for my 17dB filters. Agree, it really is.

Yep same here - his voice is undoubtedly good, hope he can get a good song to do. -

Epiphone Thunderbird Classic Pro IV *Sold*
Woodinblack replied to Woodinblack's topic in Basses For Sale
Oh yes, thats the Samual Summer Gradeflora, it has been flowering for years now, most of the year round. It was a fancy expensive one when it wasn't very big, now it is huge, as are its flowers. We have another one that was a cheap garden centre one, also now massive, also flowers all year round. the flowers if anything are more impressive on that one, but they hardly smell. The Samual summer really smells like a magnolia, it is fantastic. I never knew anything about gardens but we got this house with a biggish garden and we left it for a few years. It was big and empty. Then I thought, I know, I will plant a few trees around to make it less empty, I like trees. So I did. Turns out they grow.- 29 replies

Apparently tomorrow. We had a practice yesterday (the highest number of people I had been in proximity with since March) and we sucked big time, so should be fun!

Why so many short scale basses at the moment?
Woodinblack replied to Greg Edwards69's topic in Bass Guitars
My 5 string Caspar was active and 30" -
The control plate of the stingray looks like the control plate the G&L had when they started (but then dropped). I like that but the rounded pick guard looked just wrong. Which is a shame, I always liked the sound of them.

Mine was a L2500 tribute, I just looked, it was 17mm spacing / 68mm bridge, so smaller than I thought but wider than the Sub Ray5 I had. Maybe yours had a non standard bridge (maybe american custom, although I don't see them doing that as a custom thing), as looking on the net that is what the specs say. Either way, he doesn't like the look of them so thats that out (and I understand that, I never really liked the look of a stingray 5).

Its more than 16mm (would have loved it if it was), AFAIK it is 17.5mm. It was right on the limit of how wide I will put up with (I only sold mine a few months ago)
