Hi, all. Many and various pics are now in the phone and all ready to download. Cheers for the methodology statement from Jase. The wee man has decided to initiate a 3Gig games download today and I am USB port challenged - would have to disconnect to upload from camera. Will get 'em up as soon as can.... Chris

Friend is selling his 78 Precision (Serial S88xxxx). Sunburst, not too heavy - but... cosmetic issues. The usual late 70s finish stuff was his cue to get out the wire wool and start a home relic job. Pity, really, but nothing too huge. My tech reckons a few hours with finer stuff would give a clean look. There is a patch of gone finish at one spot on the back of the neck behind the first fret. Looks funky now, but manageable with many careful applications of superglue over a few of weeks. So.... he has his feet on the ground about this. I reckon all tidied and sorted it would be a shop price £799 bass giving him £675 after commission. But needs all that care. £575 caseless? I expect there to be copious demand for photos. I can email to PMs, but I am dogged if I can figure out how to post them up here.... ...any clues?

City Link are good value. I pay around £15 on an average amp door-to-door overnight insured. Sometimes £20 for a big cab. -
They get offered at £250. So they probably sell for a wee bittie less. Good blues guitar combo @ £225... -
Or stick a Trace V6 in front of your guitar player and you can both fight over it. Plenty of tone control to allow solid guitar sounds. Or take both - yours with the 2x15 and his (hers?) through the 4x12. You simply cannot get that much sound/tone/presence/weight out of anything else at £1k per rig. Whew! And you get to drive the drummer NUTS!

Yep. Funky design. Marshall is the only real option for repair. (Very cool for repairs on their stuff. Friendly and fast, cheap parts and cheap carriage.+++) They said they would work on mine a few years ago, but maybe they have changed their mind? I got a tech to get it to work. Held up for 15 minutes. As soon as it was hot 'n ready it started to destabilise. Switched it off before it took out a valve - or worse. Never switched it on again. Paid £300 back in the early '80s. Money well wasted. Looks AMAZING though. I had the lead 150w head from the same series. Too much pre circuitry for any real tone. Pushing the technology too far. Had a Hiwatt 400 - totally different story....
