1.
Same here mate, I keep playing the 75 and thinking maybe I should keep this.
If I didn't have some debts, we wouldn't even be having this conversation....our two basses should be keepers! This is nuts
  2.
It's not easy at the moment is it Dan. Keep considering putting my 75 on Ebay but damn, those fees are high, plus there is a high numpty factor to contend with. Hope you get a sale on there.
Cheers Gary. It should be gone really, but I turned down an offer of £2800 when I was still unsure about selling it, just got to wait for the next wave which will no doubt come along. It's a great vintage bass at a realistic price so someone will be well chuffed. In all honesty, I never expect a bass over £2k to sell fast, but what usually happens is you get 2 or 3 people showing interest at once, after none have for weeks. It just happened on my Custom Shop 55 P Bass which I sold yesterday, two guys decided to pull the trigger on the same day! Only thing that bothers me is that the '66 is still in my home, teasing me constantly to keep it. I'm having to ban myself from playing it!!!
  3. Now on eBay....unfortunately...
  4. Very nice looking bass, great addition to your set too. And with a name like Natasha, how much sweeter can you get? Enjoy your lovely new P Bass!
  5. The only bass I ever regretted selling was a '78 Sabre. The tone was outstanding and recorded beautifully. Molan is spot on about the necks though, mine was very twisted and needed a slightly higher action, but it was worth it for the tone!
  6. Frets are in good health, comes with Hiscox case.
  7. That's great, enjoy the gigs! I'm a convert to light basses with decent wood too, I recently got 7.5lb Fender with a swamp ash body, no going back now!
  8. Lovely, sweet grain too
  9. I just saw a Modulus Flea sell for $4000 on eBay USA this morning, that's £2400! Ok, it had the Lane Poor pickup and the Flea logo on the head, but $4000???? I'm wondering if this is a one off or if the prices have now finally gone up due to Modulus being bankrupt? Time will tell. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Modulus-Flea-Bass-4-String-Lane-Poor-Pickups-/161259924287
  10. Replied to PM above, sadly no trade deal to be done as cash is prefered
  11. These covers have been aged to appear old and reliced. The pickup cover has a screw hole spacing of approx 115-117mm. Please check the spacing on your bass! The bridge cover requires two non standard screws, which are included. These screws are slightly fatter then the regular ones and have a flat head screwdriver head. Sent 'signed for' 1st class delivery. Cheers! LINK TO PICTURES - https://www.dropbox....ouej/QY0EkhgBrv
  12.
oh my ..........absolutely stunning!!!!! GLWTS
Cheers Paul, even better in the 'flesh'!
WOW. i remember Marcus Mlller playing a 57 live on a vid, and it sounded so cool.
Thanks, sure sounds cool when I play it too, though that's more down to the bass than my playing!
  13.
Ding ding ding! We have a winner! Seriously can't wait to get it
Enjoy your new bass mate, looking forward to seeing pictures
  14.
I'll give a big clue, Buck and a half
Gibson G3!!! A buck and a half = all the pickups on i think Very nice bass
  15. Very cool bass, slab board too!
  16.
My YOB bass, right there!
This one was born in May I once had a lovely Autumnglo 4001 that was my month and year of birth, shame I got rid of it all those years back.
  17. Amazing how we often think the worst of people, sign of the times. The guy has added the serial number so it's obvious what it is now.
  18.
Awesome bass. Does this Clive Brown have a web site?
Not that I've ever been aware of. You can PM me for his email.
  19.
Just to chime in here, I had an Oly white '61 Jazz bass with the body refinished by Clive Brown and it fooled a guy who is a vintage Jazz expert! GLWTS!
Haha, great story! Sadly, it won't be the first or last story like this. But Clive really is that good and makes them look absolutely spot on. For example, Clive was telling me that due to the way Fender stained the wood differently in the 50's and 60's the 50's Fender's don't fade as much under the pickguard as the 60's ones so he makes the colour less faded on 50's ones, like this bass. Every detail is accounted for, what a legend and a genius!
