1. I'm with all the above. Happy to pay, happy to scroll and find all sorts. It's s good platform for selling, I like it. Helps us relieve our gas in various ways.
 2.
I'd buy it!
What annoys me is that they could make it, it'd just take up to 3 years to get it in your hands! I don't know about you, but my GAS may not survive that long period!
 3. There is some slating of Fender on BC, the big boys always get that. Considering how many pros use then they must be really bad.... I love the CS basses, quarter sawn necks, excellent woods and great pickups. Plus they look very cool, and unlike other makes, can actually resemble a vintage Fender, rather then a 'reliced guitar'. Of course, like any make, you sometimes get the odd duff one. But rarely. By the way, that 66 you liked used to be mine, and is now for sake on this forum!
 4. Seni just came by and bought a bass, you couldn't meet a nicer man! Absolute pleasure to meet and talk to, great taste in basses is always a good start but like a said, he really is a top man, Enjoy the bass mate!
 5.
What are you trying to DO to me? Selling Moduli. Selling Fenders. Talking about Lull's. It's more than a man can take.
Believe me, it hurts more on this side my friend!
 6.
Gorgeous, good luck with the sale.
Cheers, must have been that luck you sent over as it's now sold!
 7. I bought this bass only a few weeks ago, knowing that I couldn't really afford it, but hoping that I could claw the money back over a period of time. I was wrong, the Mrs and I did a budget check at the weekend and I really need to put money elsewhere. This is by far, the nicest P Bass I have owned in quite sometime, I've bought and sold a few trying to find one that I click with. Problem is, I never got on with white basses so when deciding which of my basses I have to sell, this is it. I've also had another bass from this series, which came to me on a p/x deal, that was also a stunner. There is something quite special about this years range, the necks actually feel vintage for once. I've lost count of how many CS basses I've played that still have a 'new feel', but this one really does feel like the original 1964 I used to own. Tone wise, it's gorgous, punchy, yet smooth in all the right places. It weighs under 8.5lbs and plays like butter. These are no longer available in the UK, new they were between £2300 - £2600. This bass is under 6 months old and has had little playing time, so is very nearly new. Comes with full unused case candy. Strap, tool kit, lead, plates, cloth and picks. One last thing, it has a very cool serial number for a 1964 reissue - L10964. Silly to mention, but fun to notice The ONLY trades I'd consider are Mike Lull 4 string P or J style basses. They'd have to be under 8lbs. If you have one of them, I'd be tempted to do a deal and sell another of my basses because due to a neurological condition weight is an issue for me and I love Lull basses for their weight and vibe. 8. Blimey, that's lighter than my 1977 Telecaster electric guitar! I used to have a lovely black 78 P Bass with an A neck that was that weight, they do exist from that period, they must have found an old stash of wood from a time before the cheaper heavier stuff? Looks like a killer bass GLWTS.
 9. I'm with Essential on this one. I used short scales for years, always using long scale 45-105 to get some kick into the bass. Light definietly = floppy, short scales could do without that IMO. Guess it depends on your bass and style though, worth trying all angles and maybe the looser sound will suit you? The Roto's are cheap enough to be worth a punt.
 10. Nice, double whammy! Love the 2EQ Stingrays
 11.
In Denmark St the developer's plans currently envisage populating the area with statues of rock stars, which does seem a little like creating a museum based past glories for the curious rather the thriving community that exists now.
In theory I absolutely love your points and wish that things could continue as they are / were. Sadly, in reality, the change to the whole Centre Point area (and the current way Charing Cross Rd is going) means that the rents in Denmark Street will be more over inflated than they already are. The rent there is astronomical. In an ideal world, the shops would get together and move somewhere more realistic, that'd help them thrive more too sticking together. Just like they did in the 60's when they came to Denmark Street. My heart is in Denmark Street, I had 12 years there from the age of 15, I pretty much grew up there and worked in most of the shops. But the scene may just of had it's day in Denmark St and need refreshing, perhaps away from the West End and in an area that can promote more of a community again? There hasnt been a muso community there for years, its simply retail, stack them and shift them.
 12.
....and of course many many years ago Denmark Street was residential.
True, though now instead of the Sex Pistols living their we'll have societies sw***y folk. Maybe John Lydon will return in that case edit: why did my word s-w-a-n-k-y get starred?!!!
 13. I'm writing this in response to PM's I've had. Yes. Modulus are making basses again, but in low numbers. This one was ordered in early 2014, was expected to be finished in July but didn't arrive until the end of September. Yes, I will ship abroad, No, I won't take trades please, just like I said in the advert!!!
 14. Yes, you read the title correctly... this is a 2014 model, and the 3rd one to be made this year. Planet Bass, a shop in the US, have been taking orders for brand new Modulus basses, they said that they will soon be advertising this on their website. So the good news is that Modulus are back in business, however production will be slow and more bespoke. I've been selling off much of my collection recently, and just took this on part exchange for a lovely old Martin dreadnaught acoustic that my good friend has been drooling over for many a year. I finally buckled last night over a few beers and did a swap with him. Now I need to get the cash that I wanted on the Martin! This has a SD pickup, Aguilar preamp, Badass bridge and stunning satin finish neck. This bass is bloody lovely weighing 8.69lbs and it sounds amazing. It is literally less than 6 weeks old, and has had practically no use. New these would cost around £3000 to import to the UK, this is barely even sexcond hand! My pal had 4 Moduli, now he has 3 and a lovely Martin. Personally, I already have a FB4 which I am very attached to and sadly I'm not in a position to have two of these. ABSOLUTELY NO TRADES PLEASE!!!! 15. Can't wait to hear this wehn I get home. Just wanted to chip in and say that in my experience, the Squier has a more comfy neck than the Pino. But boy do the Pino's sound great. Can a loud live tone be compared to a recorded one, me wonders????
 16.
. If all the music stores & musicians left Denmark street & ended up somewhere cheaper there would be less financial pressure on the shops (which could open up wider stock ranges) and so long as they were all still in the same area as each other the arty vibe would still be there.
Good call mate. Before Denmark Street, the music shops were in Shaftsbury Avenue, they moved to to Denmark Street for the cheaper rent. I reckon it'd be good for the shops to move as a whole where the rent isn't crazy - but still easy to access for tourists and suchas they need that footfall. Idealisticly speaking of course!
 17. I worked in Denmark St from 1993 - 2006. This development has been talked about since I got there, I kid you not. The council have had more than enough to time to think about this. Cash in their favour will win, music loses. For many years the floors above the shops have been offices, now they are all being kicked out and it is being replaced with residential. The shops, that are deep enough to go into Denmark Place will be cut in half soon enough with one shop taken out entirely to make a walkway to the cross rail. We will be losing half of Wunjo, Westside etc. The landlords are swearing that music will remain, but if the shops are paying 80,000 a year rent, they would say that. Damn shame, modern life and all...
 18. This has been a great read. I have an acoustic bass I bought aged 16, for a cheap one it is surprisingly great and i was never tempted to upgrade. I did some gigs on it about 8 years ago which was something I'll cherish. These days though it just hangs on the wall gathering dust. I'd never sell it though, it's too good and has too many memories. I've always quickly moved on electric basses that werent getting used in order to fund others I would use. If that wasn't part of my general philosophy I'd regret a few sales now, having said that I admire people that kept hold of them.
 19. Cheers everyone for their chipping in on this one, some of those comments really made me think. When both agreeing and disagreeing with your posts it made me realise what I need to do. First things first, these are just bits of wood right? Seems silly to be getting so thoughtful, however we all know what it's like to find great basses... I've decided not to go crazy and get the Lulll, but to keep the 55 and eventually sell the 64. The Lull can be a wishlist to save up for now. The 55 is just far too unique and would be an absolute headache to replace. The 64 is by far the nicest Precision I've had in my hands for a very long time, but a Lull or similar CS would do the trick for me. The identical 64 I just sold was just as good, they seem like the best CS series I've come across I'm a good while. So it's last in first out, not sure when I'll sell it though, I have a few months at least before I'll need the cash. I'll either decide to get some mileage out of it until then or just let it go as that will be the inevitable anyway. One thing is for sure, it'll be coming to the For Sale section sometime soom. Thanks again all.
 20. It's great to have your opinion thanks. I agree, if I only had to have one bass then a Jazz would cover it. Strange saying that being a big P Bass fan but the Jazz can cover a lot of ground.
 21.
If they were mine, the modulus would be out the door. But since that's not an option, I think the 55 is the one that needs to go, from what you've said. Sorry to hear that one has to go though, hope you can avoid selling one. EDIT Because I got confused. Haha. Also, if you're considering the Mike Lull, make sure you play it first. Sounds obvious, but it's amazing how many don't!
Haha, I was more with you before you edited, when you said the 64 should go! I reckon that'll change daily though? This morning I was thinking 'sell the 64 and buy the Lull (if I like it) keep the 55' then I duley remembered that I need to be letting one go. Doh. So no love for Modulus then? The boyhood Chili's fan wouldn't let me get away with that, I love using that bass when jamming to their records. A fender it must be....
 22.
Keep the white 64. Aside from the colour it`s probably of more use to you. Though saying that, can`t the sound of the 55 be tamed with eq? I have to do similar with my 78 as it is a very aggresive sound, but can dumb it down somewhat.
Good idea about eq, I tried it recently. It was close, but no cigar, the natural element that the 55 has was missing. Yeah, the 64 is of more use, that's certainly true.
Convert the lot into a Mike Lull P bass and some cash.
That is tempting.....
If you're in no rush to decide, stick the 55 in it's case and put it under the bed for a few weeks to see how much you miss it. Then get it back out and do the same with the 64, whichever one you've missed the most stays!
Good idea, I'd have to be careful to not feel like a NBD when I get it back out though!
Keep them all and sell a kidney.
I like that, I could probably get a few other basses too if I get the right price. Cheers fella's
 23.
I'd love to hear the 55, having never played a CS model. I have a 'customised' 63 jazz that sounds immense and I know what you mean about filling the room. I've been unsuccessfully trying to find that huge tone in a lighter weight bass for years - even other pre CBS Js don't have it IME. I don't like the tone from split coil Precisions and I wonder if the single coil 55 would sound closer to my Jazz's neck pick up. Your 55 is absolutely gorgeous in my eyes and if it sounds as special as you say, I hope you keep it.... Otherwise I might not be able to resist
I'm not sure what it is about the 55, is the light weight swamp ash body? The stacked pickup with less mids than a split P? The fact that the maple neck is chunky? A tree made by pixies? All or none of the above? I have no idea, but would love to know. It'd be interesting to play another next to mine. Bassgear and GAK both have one if you're nearby. I hope I can keep it too mate. This thread may just be making things worse....
 24.
Definitely keep the '55, it sounds like it's a very special one. I get the feeling you would regret selling that one the most. Lull's are excellent basses and also very light in weight by all accounts..
You hit the nail on the head, twice. Cheers!
