Wouldn't say no to the other bits of kit either My mate came round with his 64 CS P Bass which is rosewood & alder and his 59 CS P Bass which is ash & maple, such a great combo too, I love the tonal differences and the way they compliment. They are both 2014 models and the dogs bollocks, amazing quality. Content is a word I've been using a lot recently these days, it's not a bad place too be is it?

Relics and vintage reissues have their place, but there has been just so much of it. Obviously that's what people want, they sell in their masses, but a different modern option would be cool too. They are getting there with the new postmodern at least. P's and Jazzes are great basses, if it's all about not reinventing the wheel then more options of a proven great bass would be nice. This all just in my opinion etc etc etc

I'm not GAS'ing for one, but I was pretty chuffed to see the new Journeyman / Postmodern Precison/Jazz hybrid basses recently added to the 2015 Custom Shop models. At the start of the year I was disappointed that there weren't any NOS or modern-ish models added, but this one fits the bill nicely. Luckily for me and my wallet I prefer wide P necks and have no complaints about my Lull (only because im now used to that damn headstock). Its not even like its because they come on 50's style Teles and people only want single ply, I've seen some awful modern ones for 5 hole. Bizarre. Sure scratch it can sort it, otherwise there is Andy Gibson in the basement of 25 Denmark St, he's an absolute top bloke and has made me many a pickguard in the past.
