  1. I'll double check when I'm home but it's on the narrower side, I believe 17mm but will update you
  2. Due to downsizing the collection decided to part ways with this bc rich mockingbird plus 5 string. Bass sounds and plays great. Very light at approx 7.7 lbs. There is a few small marks and a small finish crack in the neck pocket. I have also moved the strap pins to help with balance so there are a few extra holes! Collection preferred however may consider posting or meeting half way. Thanks
  3. Hi, due to moving to playing only 5 string basses I've decided to sell my lakland 44 02 skyline. These basses are phenomenal and can provide so many useful tones due to the pickup/preamp options. Fantastic neck like most laklands which is really comfortable. Weighs 9.5 lbs. Few marks to the headstock and some light surface scratches to the rear which are very hard to photograph. Collection preferred however may be able to meet up or post. Any further information just ask. Thanks

  4. It's gen2 with the rolled board and satin neck, not the gen2 revision with round bridge saddles
  5. Hi mate, yeah I emailed Chris at overwater when I got it for some info. He said the evolution was a fairly short run of basses that became the progress. Its a mahogany body, 5pc maple/mahogany neck, rosewood board and birdseye maple top. String spacing is currently 18mm however its adjustable. It's a 35" scale. I'm unsure of radius however it feels very flat to me and is very quick. I'll dig out the scales and weigh it ASAP
  6. Yeah the cavity itself is a work of art 😂. Shows the care and attention the overwater guys must have for their instruments
  7. Hey everyone, due to moving house I'm having a downsize of my collection! Here for sale is my 2007 overwater evolution 5 string. It's a stunning bass with a birdseye maple top and matched headstock. This is fitted from factory with Kent Armstrong pickups and an East/overwater preamp. I recently had a new genuine overwater nut fitted and she plays great. I love this bass however my lakland is my main go to so this needs to go. There are marks from use and a small bit of damage near the xlr socket - I've tried to picture everything however feel free to ask if better pictures are wanted. The truss rod nut is slightly rounded on the outer end however still works fine and the bass will also come with a genuine overwater replacement that just needs fitting. I haven't done it as the bass is currently set up fine. I haven't used the xlr output however I assume it works fine. Comes with original overwater hiscox hardcase which has some tape on a hinge and a previous owners name painted on it lol however functions perfectly as a decent case! Any questions pm me. Ideally collection or meet up and ideally cash sale. Trades may be considered if its a 5 string thumb bass or something I could sell on easily enough thanks
  8. Choice of knob included
  9. Hi everyone due to a pending house move I'm downsizing my collection. This is my sire v7 5 string. It's in excellent condition and plays and sounds fantastic. I bought this as I was curious about the hype and can say it definitely deserves it. Probably the best bass you can get for this price. Version 2 so has the rolled fingerboard, satin neck and wooden battery cover. Super flexible preamp and can also be used passive. Any more info please ask. Collection preferred but could post at buyers risk and cost or possible meet up. Thanks
  10. Hi everyone due to a pending house move I'm downsizing my collection. This is my fernandes mockingbird bass, I believe its from the early 90's but could be wrong! Has some scratches and holes from moved strap buttons. It plays great and sounds brilliant. The controls are volume volume tone with a 3 way pickup selector switch. The neck volume pot needs replacing as it turns past 360 degrees however still works. Collection preferred or can post/meet. Any questions just pm me No
  11. Agreed, lovely looking bass but appears to be about 2kg overweight haha!
  12. Yeah I can see it being a awkward live especially with poor lighting. I've used the sadowsky and East pre amps and both are great, the tone control was a personal favourite!
  13. I picked up a version 2 V7 a few weeks ago as I've heard many good things and was very curious. IMHO it's a stunning bass even before you consider how little they cost (I paid £350 mint condition). I fully agree that the control plate is very busy and the controls are abit too close, although I think the stock preamp sounds great and is very useable. I don't think much would be gained by swapping it, it may make it sound different which some people would interpret as better, however it sounds like a jazz bass with the option of active eq. What's not to like?! 😁
  14. Sorry for the delayed reply, its apprx 9.8lbs. Balances lovely. Price drop bump to £700
  15. Was this the one on reverb fairly recently? If so I was so close to buying it 😂 I must've stared at it everyday for two weeks resisting it's beauty! GLWTS
  16. Love the look of this, simple P bass with a stunning neck! Just out of interest any idea of postage costs? 😁
  17. This is a bargain! Lovely cab especially for that price
  18. Hi folks, selling a brand new set of DR low rider strings. 45-130 5 string set. Received these from a shop as an extra set during a trade deal, I use ernie balls so have no need for them. Seem to be at least £40+ online so £25 Inc UK postage seems fair. PayPal friends payment preferred. Any questions ask away
  19. These are such cool looking basses and the wear on that only adds to its style 😎 GLWTS
  20. Recently bought some strings from Colin. A really easy transaction, delivered very quickly and exactly as described. Thanks again Colin
  21. Looking forward to seeing the pictures 😁 one of the best looking basses IMHO.. (runs off to look at import tax costs)..

    Xotic

Congrats mate 😁 it is a lovely bass, probably the nicest 4 string I've ever owned/played
  23. Yeah I didn't buy it from Overwater which is why I was very pleased with them being so helpful.. The shop I bought it from have agreed to pay for me to have the parts replaced with my local luthier. But I agree, I already told them that its put me off ever buying from them again as the 'setup' they did was horrendous as they were trying to hide the buzzing by raising bridge saddles stupidly high! I've also edited the OP so hopefully it's not confusing..
  24. Sorry chaps! Some of my terrible pictures a stock picture
  25. This is just a quick post regarding a new (to me) bass. Recently did a deal for my lovely xotic in exchange for a rather tasty looking overwater (which I believe used to live in this forum). The shop dropped the bass to my place and collected the other whilst I was at work. I got home to find although the bass is lovely, it has fret buzz on open A+B strings due to worn nut, and the truss rod nut was partially rounded. I contacted the shop who are going to pay for me to have repairs carried out. I also contacted Overwater and a few emails back and forth with to order some replacement parts, Chris and the team sent me the parts I needed completely free of charge! 😁 🤘 To say the bass is 15 years old and they are still happy to help me out like this is really above and beyond what I'd have expected. Great customer service like this is what keeps people using certain brands! Keep up the good work Overwater 😁
