Hi everyone due to a pending house move I'm downsizing my collection. This is my sire v7 5 string. It's in excellent condition and plays and sounds fantastic. I bought this as I was curious about the hype and can say it definitely deserves it. Probably the best bass you can get for this price. Version 2 so has the rolled fingerboard, satin neck and wooden battery cover. Super flexible preamp and can also be used passive. Any more info please ask. Collection preferred but could post at buyers risk and cost or possible meet up. Thanks

Hi everyone due to a pending house move I'm downsizing my collection. This is my fernandes mockingbird bass, I believe its from the early 90's but could be wrong! Has some scratches and holes from moved strap buttons. It plays great and sounds brilliant. The controls are volume volume tone with a 3 way pickup selector switch. The neck volume pot needs replacing as it turns past 360 degrees however still works. Collection preferred or can post/meet. Any questions just pm me No

Jazz bass - passive or active?? Sire V7 owners thoughts are wlecome...

Yeah I can see it being a awkward live especially with poor lighting. I've used the sadowsky and East pre amps and both are great, the tone control was a personal favourite! -

I picked up a version 2 V7 a few weeks ago as I've heard many good things and was very curious. IMHO it's a stunning bass even before you consider how little they cost (I paid £350 mint condition). I fully agree that the control plate is very busy and the controls are abit too close, although I think the stock preamp sounds great and is very useable. I don't think much would be gained by swapping it, it may make it sound different which some people would interpret as better, however it sounds like a jazz bass with the option of active eq. What's not to like?! 😁 -

Hi folks, selling a brand new set of DR low rider strings. 45-130 5 string set. Received these from a shop as an extra set during a trade deal, I use ernie balls so have no need for them. Seem to be at least £40+ online so £25 Inc UK postage seems fair. PayPal friends payment preferred. Any questions ask away

Congrats mate 😁 it is a lovely bass, probably the nicest 4 string I've ever owned/played

Yeah I didn't buy it from Overwater which is why I was very pleased with them being so helpful.. The shop I bought it from have agreed to pay for me to have the parts replaced with my local luthier. But I agree, I already told them that its put me off ever buying from them again as the 'setup' they did was horrendous as they were trying to hide the buzzing by raising bridge saddles stupidly high! I've also edited the OP so hopefully it's not confusing..

This is just a quick post regarding a new (to me) bass. Recently did a deal for my lovely xotic in exchange for a rather tasty looking overwater (which I believe used to live in this forum). The shop dropped the bass to my place and collected the other whilst I was at work. I got home to find although the bass is lovely, it has fret buzz on open A+B strings due to worn nut, and the truss rod nut was partially rounded. I contacted the shop who are going to pay for me to have repairs carried out. I also contacted Overwater and a few emails back and forth with to order some replacement parts, Chris and the team sent me the parts I needed completely free of charge! 😁 🤘 To say the bass is 15 years old and they are still happy to help me out like this is really above and beyond what I'd have expected. Great customer service like this is what keeps people using certain brands! Keep up the good work Overwater 😁

Hi people, due to moving house and lack of use I have decided to sell my lakland j sonic. This is a 2016 bass that sounds fantastic and has that trademark excellent lakland B string. Previous owner used it for alot of gigs so it has some small chips and minor indents, also some of the chrome has began to flake off the pickup surrounds. Nothing drastic and none of it affects how nicely this bass plays. It balances perfectly and has a jazz bass esque tone with added girth! The neck I would say is a shallow d profile and is very easy to get around. Currently fitted with dunlop strap buttons however the originals will be refitted before sale. Oh and the best thing about this bass, is obviously the fact that it's gold. Gold! I may consider a trade, mainly for fretted 5 strings however would consider a 4 if it was something I could sell easily enough. Collected or meet up only for now as I don't have a box. Happy to meet up to an hour from Gosport if it helps a deal. Anything else just ask, thanks! *weight approx 9.8lbs

I've had multiple 5 strings over the last few years (lakland, musicman bongo, shuker, overwater, mayones etc) and do all my own basic setups as I know how I like them. I agree that a well setup can bass definitely helps with a good B string, however I've also found some basses just have a clearer b than others. For example I have an overwater with 35" scale and two laklands (one USA one Indonesian) that are both 35" scales, all of which are fitted with ernie ball nickel rounds. Both the laklands definitely have a clearer B string. The overwater is definitely not a bad B string just the laklands are better - to my ears anyway. I feel that the rigidity of the neck and density of the woods used can have a big difference on the clarity especially noticeable in the lower register. That's my two pence anyway

That looks stunning!

The sunburst one that Bassbros have in stock was my one 😁. Its an absolutely stunning jazz bass. Anyone who hasn't tried an xotic but likes jazz basses, even if you buy one blind you won't regret it. They are unbelievably nice. I've had a few jazz basses (sandberg, USA fender, flea etc) and that xotic is another step up. I traded it with them for an overwater they had that tickled me fancy (and again I think was for sale here once upon a time) purely as I've committed to 5 strings. It wasn't the lightest jazz, I think I measured it at 9.5lbs but the balance and playability are fantastic. If I was playing 4 strings I'd buy another xotic without hesitation. I've almost pulled the trigger on that orange 5 string a few times 😁
