2.
Cracking pair of basses there mate, a ray and a DJ, doesn't get much better than that.
Having joined the Ray and DJ club recently, I can attest to this! I have a DJ4 in white pearl with maple fingerboard, a DJ5 in black with a maple fingerboard, and a trans orange 3EQ Ray with a maple fingerboard They are all fantastic basses, I doubt I will sell any of them, unless I'm really badly in need of cash! I think I may have played this actual bass at the gallery a couple of weeks ago, it's a very nice player, and the setups at the gallery are very good! Do you know what pickups are in it? I have Aero pickups and a J-Retro in both my DJ's, and IMO they sound bloody awesome!! Nice Ray too...You've got yourself a lovely collection!
3.
I've got a Qtron, and wondered if it is really worth spending the extra cash on a proper Mutron. How much better can it really be? Please share your experience/wisdom. If anyone has a mutron to sell, maybe gimme a shout. Cheers, Zak
I have a Mutron III to sell mate
4. Unfortunately my internet has been down this weekend, or I would have been on here ranting and raving sooner!! I am actually in love with this bass. Everytime I open the case my knees go weak Thank you Perry!!!
5. And back to the top!
6. Stuart is one of the humblest guys out there - Jay Kay was the knob!
7. Unfortunately can't listen to the soundclip as I'm at work, but what a fantastic looking bass! Stunning. Awesome job my friend!
8.
Which also translates one is better with you bass plugged straight in and another is better in the middle of a buffered signal chain
Smart arse
9.
What no tuner? I never really understood the impedance thing with those EB volume pedals :/ They didn't sound any different to me. It is very nice looking though - I r jealous!
One is better for Actives, one is better for Passives.
10.
Not looking for anything that expensive I like my effects, and believe in getting good quality ones where possible, but you have to draw a line somewhere I've not really liked the Echo Park when I've tried it before, and the tap tempo isn't really that convenient to use IMO.
The Echo Park is the best you'll get in a single stomp box format. Ironically, I've found the tap tempo to be the most convenient to use, when it comes to the single stompers.

Be warned though, while the delay on the Headrush is ok, its quite basic. It's got the standards like tap tempo, repeats (and a nice high frequency damp for faux-analog sounds) it's just a bare bones delay with not many features. Absolutely shines as a Looper though. Most easy and intuitive pedal I've used. Awesome for quick on the fly stuff.

True Bypass - No tone suck.
13.
I see, that's understandable. A general question to all of those who gig with more than one bass: Do you leave your basses plugged in all of the time, and use a channel switcher to switch between basses? I can see the need for a switchable volume control, so that the volume for each bass can be levelled out and set, and switched. However, I don't understand why you would leave basses plugged into an A/B switch all the time, it would really annoy me! I have always used a mute switch and just swapped the jack cable going into my bass. Do you think this looks unproffessional?
Have you never seen a roadie bring on a different guitar/bass for the band after they finish a song? Doesn't look unprofessional in the slightest...Now if you don't mute the output, that's a different kettle of fish altogether

Rich is correct on all counts. No delay while looping, which is a bit of a shame, but at the end of the day it's got 3 independant modes, and in keeping with the size, only 2 footswitches, so turning on delay while looping wouldnt be possible.
15. +1 to everyone above Diago Powerstation, with a 18v doubler will double the voltage from 9v to 18v for the morley, only on the ouput you plug it on to. So the rest will still get 9V. Still works out cheaper than the DC brick too.
16.
Most of it please, but especially the original Mutron III !!
I actually have a spare...So providing I haven't sold it by then, there will be one going...If anyone is interested in it - PM's are welcome
17. Your wish is my command ...Providing I can make it of course
18. I will be there!! An Italian friend of mine has come over for a few months and has bought me the ticket for me lending him a bass for the time he is here!! I cannot wait!
19. Bump - And here's a stock picture for reference!!
20. I hope to be there. If anyone wants to play any of my gear let me know what to bring? Lakland DJ4 with Aero Pups and JRetro Lakland DJ5 with the same Musicman Stingray 3EQ Original Mutron III Akai Deep Impact Akai Headrush Demeter Compulator Digitech WH-1 Whammy Custom Modded Big Muff Way Huge Aqua Puss clone EA iAmp 600 I'm not sure I'm available but if I can, I will try and get there - and bring most of the above with me!!
21. Right - Excellent flanger here, only problem being, I can't fit it on my board. I'm more of a Phaser guy anyway, so don't want this to be sat around doing nothing. Literally in MINT condition, and has the rubber knob covers. I don't think I have a box/manual for it, but if I find them I will post them on, free of charge. The retail on these is about £125 IIRC. Here for £65 posted. Pics coming soon. Cheers. Edit: Forgot to mention - this pedal is 18V. I don't have a stand-alone adaptor. I use one of these. I will include it in the sale for an extra £6 (They are £12 brand new from Diago, and this has hardly been used).
22. I regret getting rid of mine!! I really want to get another one, but I can't even fit the pedals I want on my board now, let alone adding another one to it!!
23. Hi mate, a pedal I had cool results from - especially for the Zender stuff - is the Crowther Prunes and Custard. Here's a sample I recorded a while ago running it through the AF-9 to try and cop the "Sir Psycho" tone: Sir Psycho Sexy And here's one with the P+C by itself, trying to emulate the synth tone on Deeper Underground by Jamiroquai: Deeper Underground As to the EBS vs the Mutron, I've only played with the EBS briefly, but it does have some rather cool filter sounds. It's a different beast to the Mutron though. The Mutron is the classic old school funky filter. I wouldn't use anything else now!
24. Well you definitely won't be getting the Sir Psycho Sexy sound without running some kind of dirt into the filter. The same goes for the Zender stuff. As a stand alone filter I absolutely love the AF-9. If I didn't have a Mutron III it would be the AF-9 sitting on my board. Try running some kind of fuzz into it!
25.
Lakland Darryl Jones with Aero pups - classic 70s jazz sound IMO
I would have to agree I have that combo in both my DJ4 and DJ5, and a J-Retro in each too - Any Jazz sound I need is in both basses. They are simply wonderful.
