3.
my first thought is that anyone half decent wouldn't be running a service like that via gumtree. It doesn't seem that cheap either - its just a basic setup with a bit of a look at the frets. my second thought is.... if you're going to get someone mucking around with your frets go to a professional with a good rep. If you're just doing to just be setting, neck relief, height and intonation... flipping learn to do it yourself - it's not hard, it's not like many of us have floyd rose trems or the like!
I kind of agree with you there but in fairness to the guy he may be just starting out on his own from home and maybe he really does not have the money to get a shop etc but assuming he is just a "player" making some extra cash then yeah is pretty bad and as you say say if it is just a basic set up and quick look at the frets not good. And I also agree about learning to do your own set ups but there is a lot of people around who are maybe just starting playing and think if a "pro" is working on my bass must be good or then of course there are people who just don't want to learn how to set up or just cant be asked I myself think that being able to do basic maintenance on your bass is an ability every player should have I mean if I set my bass up and it feels good and I am happy with my bass and I truly think it helps me to play better I don't know why it just does ..Placebo effect? and to be perfectly honest I really enjoy working on my basses and I think I have become rather good at it took a lot of practice and have buggered it up in the early days but that only makes you better but I feel really proud of doing a good job
 4.
If the return next day courier is in with the price - and it doesn't seem to say otherwise - I wouldn't like to work out what his hourly rate is but it's not much. Though a lot of what's described as "inspect" could be a two second look. Outside of that he seems to do quite a bit for the price. edit: I know/knew of two techs attached to shops who have a min charge of £65.
Agreed at the ad seems to suggest that the strings are also included in the price that is why I thought it seemed good value but like the others have pointed out if it is just a quick set up and tidy up it may be a touch dear mind you both guitar shops around her charge just shy of £50 for a set up without strings but I guess that is kind of cos they have the monopoly hence why I learnt how to do my own
 5. Yep fantastic pedal
 6. Just saw this advert on Gumtree for bass set ups etc and thought the price seemed quite fair for the work he says he will do (the company has nothing to me and I don,t know the guy) So was just wondering if any of you guys had used his service and what your thoughts are on it? I was thinking it could be quite good for new players or bass owners to use if they are not confident in setting a bass up and most shops seem to charge 40 or 50 quid bog standard set up so just passing this on really http://www.gumtree.com/p/business-services/electric-guitar-and-bass-service-60/1074233952

 11.
IIRC one of the guys I used to know had a guitar amp made by them, seemed to like it. Would be interested to hear your experiences . Always thought Behringer stuff had an undeserved reputation.
I agree I think Behringer stuff is great at its price point I have had a fair few of there stomp boxes and they have always been and despite being mostly plastic they are surprisingly strong
 12.
Just have to change your name to match the one 'dremelled' into the back of the body
Shame that means to make it nice it needs a good fill level and spray job which can make a cheap bass a pretty dear one unless you can live with it as it is
 13.
Complain to eBay and neg them
^ This there's nothing more you can do I'm afraid
 14. Bump for a quality bag and a great guy to deal with
 15.
They're $175, which is about £105. Plus you have to factor in the import duty, VAT and Parcel Force fee. This will be around an additional £30
Blimey that is a fair old chunk of cash no wonder your not happy I would be well annoyed to hopefully paypal will get you your money back
 16. 11 bids so far
 17.
Thanks for the heads up - that one pictured looks terrible and nothing like you specified.
This and I think the service you got sounds pretty shoddy...How much are these guards anyway? some one told me they were the best part of £100
 18. In answer to a couple of PM messages regarding delivery I will courier the bass at the buyers expense or the buyer can come and pick it up but I am afraid I cannot deliver in person as I am unable to drive
 19. Thats a stinker sorry to hear of your ruined birthday and sub quality bass hope you get it sorted
 20. Could you just not put a thumb rest on the bass you have in a comfy position for you?
 21.
Amongst others I had a tentative offer of £100 plus an immaculate Peavey T40. Sadly the guy has been on a few times since but no further contact, so guess he's changed his mind. If nothing else happens with this bass by tomorrow night, sadly I'm going to try parting it out. Very surprised really, if it had Flea and was in gold, guess it would have been long gone. I have done a breakdown on most parts and the parts alone come to over £1200, never mind shipping, putting it together etc. Hey ho.
Yep this should of sold mate its shocking just guess everyone is broke
 22. Yes please PM sent
 23.
on the strength of my experience with the PBXN ive bought a pair of the JBXN to replace a pair of mim pups in a cv squier ive got knocking about, pickup balance at the moment is atrocious, neck is so much louder than the bridge and the g string is very weak, it will be interesting to hear the difference.
That is fantastic I am so glad you are enjoying the Entwhistle
