1.
All that activity is going on your credit reference, however. Even the Experian trial, if they run a check. You might be comfortable with that, but it can give people issues - hence urging caution.
I am not saying it is good. It is also true that you get credit checked. Once every 18 months it so will make little difference after all the checks you get for insurance quotes etc. Never miss a payment and you will have a better credit rating than someone with no credit or loans. I have never been refused loans or credit cards,I don`t really endorse it, but I have done it for years, so it is possible, and yes you will have to be a little cautious that you can always afford to pay at least the minimum
2. A subscription a year would maybe work if you had a months free trial. I would certainly pay it
3. you will never run out of credit cards. I currently have a Barclaycard that I had 18 months interest free from a Tesco card, who used to be RBS , but Tesco own outright. I have a Halifax card waiting which has a 25 month balance transfer. I also have used Virgin and MBNA.I cycle through them I have had interest free cards for years with no problem. It doesn`t wreck your credit if you pay off every month, it actually helps if you are careful. When the card is near the end, get a months free trial with Experian.By the time you have gone around, the first credit card company will issue you with a new one. I do have a fallback of having shares if the 0% interest does go wrong to pay it off though By the way, to make it work, you need 2 cards initially. One to buy it, and one to transfer to straight away
4. Don`t cut the card because it will still be active and open to fraud, and the more credit cards you have, a better chance of getting turned down. You should transfer the money, then cancel the card after.I do it all the time, so it is possible.
5. I have a copy, and it is what made me want to learn how to play a bass. There are some good tutorials. However, it will only teach you how to play the songs featured. I am waiting for a band to come out that only plays Rocksmith stuff
6. Does anyone remember a poll that was taken place a few years a go on TV, the Brit Awards and the best song in the last 25 years by the British public, plus the best song to have never have been number 1 by VH1 written, was Angels- Robbie Williams? When you think that list of songs that never got to number 1 includes My Generation - The Who, Alright Now- Free and Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty, amongst others, then that is a massive claim in my opinion. That is how seriously these lists should be taken. Found the link http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/3560956.stm

9.
Without access to a bass or any other instrument I can you that the main riff is root - flat 7th i.e. if the song was in the key of C the notes are C C Bb C. I can tell you that because I've learned what a root note and a flat -7th sound like. Anyone can learn this, it doesn't require any magical ability. Of course it helps that root - flat 7th is possibly the commonest bass riff on planet earth
Nice one.As soon as I find out what a root flat 7th, I will have a go. I have a lesson tomorrow so I will ask. Thanks
10.
This. I haven't seen any ads on BC (or anywhere else) for months. As good a reason as any for changing to Chrome, imho. Unless you're a tinfoil-hat wearer, in which case ...don't.
Isn`t the one at the top of this forum for Rotosound an advert? Ahh I get it, you are using an Ad blocker
11. Waqners Ride of the Valkyries. We couldn`t decide, but liked it in Apocalypse Now, so thought it would be perfect, http://youtu.be/GGU1P6lBW6Q
12. I know that people can play by ear, but really my question is, how much do you need to know before you can play by ear.I assume no one can listen to a piece of music and pick up a bass, for the first time or any instrument and know what to play. Surely you must be able to know your way around the fret board and know exactly what the note sounds like,. For example, this song, someone will be able to know what notes the bass player is using, I haven`t a clue, but can you know the exact notes that are being played, or is it more of an interpretation. SO I guess playing by ear is down to experience, or a natural ability to just know? The didgereedoo finishes about 1 min in before the music proper starts. If someone knows the basic notes I will give it a go
13. I don`t really understand the playing by ear thing. Surely you need the basic theory to know what you are hearing? How would someone know what note is being played if they don`t know how to play a bass? How do you get to play by ear and know what notes to play?
14. Before I had heard of this site, I bought my first Bass 4 months ago from Ebay which I paid £300, I could probably have got it maybe £250 ish, but I couldn`t be bothered to wait so had it on buy it now. It is a Warwick Fortress Rockbass, They were going for around £200- £300 then, but now I would be lucky to get £175 I reckon. The market place has definitely quietened down. If I get any proficiency to play it, I would rather buy from here than anywhere else. If only I had heard of this site before I bought one, as the stuff I see on here for the money would have netted me a nicer bass for not much more than £300 I would quite happily pay £20 a year as it is worth it, as you can`t really put a value on the experience people are willing to impart freely.
15. I got the strad as it just sounded so much clearer and a nicer tone.I got the other 2 wrong though
16. I had a lesson today and had a good discussion on Pentatonics and Arpeggio`s and I understand their importance now. Thanks all for the answers
17.
Maybe Don Letts has the answer to what is punk :- For me, punk still works on a day-to-day basis. It's an ongoing dynamic, and, if you're brave enough and smart enough, you can be part of it. I could have chosen an easy path and followed the herd, which is very much in vogue now. Instead, I revelled in individuality.

He doesn't half talk a load of old caca sometimes
Yup , I thought that when I saw it.
18. Thanks for the replies
Playing scales and arpeggios is the best way of internalising the sounds of the notes, chords, their relationships, of learning the neck, of developing consistent attack, phrasing etc etc. There are other ways but scale use allows you to be systematic about it.
So is it Pentotonic that are scales, and Arpeggios are something different? I thought they were both scales, but learned something. Also from the answer, it looks like I will have to continue playing them every day

20. Is there a point to constantly playing scales everyday? I just can`t see how it can help if you are learning to read music. I am told that every piece of music ever written used scales, but I just can`t see how, as not every piece of music I have ever seen has used solely Scales. Can anyone tell me how they are used in music please?
21. Before I found this forum, I joined a guitar forum and said I was going to take lessons learning the bass and this was the reply :- are you practising to backing tracks...i dont know of any bass players that have ever had dedicated ' bass guitar ' lessons ?..if not whats the method of practising with agreement from other guitarists, who are apparently in bands, which I found hard to believe
22. My teacher told me a couple of weeks ago that bass playing was easy if you just want to plonk it all day, but to play it well is harder than playing the guitar as a guitarist will only sound good if he has a good bassist to hold it together. Not sure if he was buttering me up, but I am happy to relate the story to the guitarists I know
23. I looked at a DVD of guitar playing years ago.The item was bidded up to £18 with a few hours to go. I scrolled down the page and it had the same thing for buy it now at !4.99 from the same seller. I bought it at the buy it now price. I really think some people treat it as a game and get an adrenaline rush when they win
24.
They have some great pop/rock songs have a listen to some others on you tube
The first time I had heard of Paramore was a debate on it about how bad they were cause they sold out when they did the theme tune to twilight. I like them. But it isn`t their best of songs
