1. Perhaps you can look at quitting The Dave`s as a tribute to Trigger. Best of luck with your other band
2.
You can do this by downloading MIDI tracks, then using a MIDI editor which allows you to mute tracks. They won't sound like real music though, but a bit cheesy. (Or a lot).
Thanks for the reply. I have no experience of doing such a thing, but i guess it is another thing to i need to learn
3. Paul Webb from Talk Talk doesn`t seem to get any mentions. I would put him on a par with Peter Hook
4. Where do people get them from. I found a site that you could buy tracks and could fade out any instrument that you wanted. I made the mistake of not bookmarking it. I am just looking foir some site that the bass is not present, but the rest is
5. I have seen these basses around, and i really like the sound. Do they come in lefthand verssions. I have looked, but can`t find any
6. I have a similar, but not as bad a problem as you. I have a deformed finger, which meant i couldn`t use the finger properly. I have been trying to play for about the same time as you. I can only suggest this, as i really don`t know how much dexterity you have in your left hand. If your index and ring fingers have a decent strength on the left hand, could you try playing left handed. I did, and i can play better and have more movement over the fret board. Other than that, the only other thing i can suggest is learning Scales and arrpegios. They are a good way to get your fingers stretching. Not sure if that has helped, but hopefully someone will come along with more experience with better suggestions . It gets lonely this far down the topic board, you sometimes have a bit of a wait for answers. Although it is Basschat, most people prefer the off topic, topic it would seem.
7. I took the statement to mean that they wanted to do the gig, but had to comprimise their principles. If i had the chance they had, i would have thrown the priniples out of the window. Maybe they would have been better releasing the statement before they did the set though. I have principles. but i reckon if the right circumstances arose, i could probably update them, as i am sure m,any people would
8. It would have been worse from my point of view if they had plugged in and mimed. At least they weren`t hiding the fact.
9. Ahh ok. Thanks all for the replies
10. Now i am really confused. What is all of this I, bIII, VI, V, bVII ? Is that some different way of writing notation?
11. The Pentatonic Blues Scale which is a minor. I am confused as there is no flats or sharps in an A Minor scale, but the Pentotonic Blues scale seems to change that. I thought you had to flatten the fifth, but i assume it is an E flat, but if so, does the E change ?
12. Assuming starting from position A. A,C,D,D#,E,G,A. Does the D# become an E flat? If so, does the E change?
13. When you have a flat, for example e flat, where do you put the crotchet? Is it on the D staff or the E staff?
14. Great. Thanks for the reply
15. Is it C D# G A# C, but the D# becomes E flat and A becomes B flat? Obviously starting from C
16.
? Still, looking at the bright side, it doesn't appear that lithium batteries damage house prices, .
Unless you it razes your house to the ground, then it could have a detrimental effect on your properties worth
17. I read somewhere that you had to queue to get a free ticket on a first come basis. The tickets would be available 2 hours before each masterclass. The seating area seats something in the region of 450 people. Whether that will happen, i have no idea. Found it. Live Stage auditorium: Seating a maximum of 450 people, tickets for the Live Stage auditorium are available at the show only and are collected from the Bass Guitar Magazine stand. The tickets are first come first served, and will be available no more than 2 hours prior to each performance. Persons under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult

Look under where you buy tickets, and the text is under the box

18.
I stand corrected Probably just as well I never took up law
You haven`t been corrected.I only knew because i read it a few days ago. It can be difficult coming into a topic late and trawling through all the posts
19.
His Royal Purpleness has dropped his $22 million lawsuit. Funnily enough this news is several days old, and yet, not a single mention of it here (until now) - go figure!

He's dropped the cases now that the items have been taken down. http://www.bbc.co.uk...nology-25960300
It was mentioned the lawsuit was dropped days ago
20. No idea if this is true, but my bass teacher says keep playing scales in a legatto, instead of stacatto, and your fingers will stretch. It is working for me, but still some way to go to stretch at the top of the neck
21.
I much preferred Led Zeppelin back in the days when they were mysterious and enigmatic, and when you seldom saw or heard them on mainstream mass media. and knew nothing of the personal about the various members except by rumour and hearsay. That was a big part of what made them Led Zeppelin. Nowadays, I know what John Paul Jones wife likes to cook ( fish) , I could actually pop round to Jimmy Page's house and knock on the door, and Robert Plant bought a sweater from my friend's girlfriend at a craft fair. That is not right. Participating in schmaltzy showbiz events like this has done nothing but diminish the Zeppelin legend, which, like all legends, relied on being lost to history. Their other big mistake ( much bigger ) was to reform and play those reunion shows and charity concerts like Live Aid ect. They showed themselves to be mere mortals, when they had previously been gods, and should have left it that way for all our sakes. .
Or i guess it could be viewed as the biggest band in rock could be seen by a younger generation. I enjoyed them reforming. Don`t forget that people who never had the pleasure to see them first time around, probably thought they were awesome even though in your opinion, they are past their sell by date
22. I would buy a Sid Vicious sig. At least you would be able to play it as well as the player it was modelled on
23. If you get a really good copy of live music, which would obviously be unique, you could possibly make a lot of money on Youtube from advertising revenue. In some ways i agree with him if people are profiteering from it. It is kind of like the comedians who go on tour and have someone put all his show online. The audience then know the gags and they have a limited opportunity for DVD`s
