  1. You've got both then?
  2. Why worry about it being period correct? I think a nice sherwood green would look nice with that scratch plate
  3. I really like mine too. I used it as a PA for the work Xmas quiz, the delay effect worked really well when announcing question numbers. QUESTION 2.. 2… 2…
  4. Yeah once you’ve got back into using it the system isn’t too bad but it’s easy to forget how to access certain things or scroll past what you wanted and end up pressing the wrong clicker! It’s quite clever how it all works using just two knobs though tbh but I couple more wouldn’t have gone amiss. I’ve edited the Paul Turner ones mostly just to dial them in for my basses specifically so probably not worth sharing them. I take it you have the latest firmware with those on? If not let me know as I’ve got the file here.
  5. In almost new condition, worn for a few hours max at home. Only selling as I bought the slightly wider version just because my Backbeat fits better. These are really nice straps, fully synthetic (no leather), great stitching and quite lightweight even though they have multiple layers. It also has built in plectrum holders. Full info here: https://www.rightonstraps.com/en/mojo-collection-race-red-strap.html 6cm wide, 95cm - 150cm long Comes with presentation box, sticker and polishing cloth. £35 from Bass Direct plus postage but not boxed or with the extras. I’ll do £30 posted (it’s quite a big box) Cheers ped BTW the colour is a perfect match for a 1966 Fender Mustang Red (Dakota red?) if that helps sway you!
  6. I quite like the look. Headstock suits me fine. Weirdly though I tend to think ‘mudbucker’ designs sound quite hollow and ‘stringy’ to my ears. Like the new Epiphone bass. This Sandberg sounds more usable to me, it has some midrange punch and articulation which to me is missing in the serek demo above. However I’ve played Serek basses and think they sound great so maybe it’s the video.

    What bass?

He says the logo looked like this. Fairly adamant it’s not the logo of the bass above but perhaps it’s sold as a sub brand

    What bass?

Thanks, I think this looks closest of all.

    What bass?

My brother was, he usually asks me a ‘what bass?’ Question whenever he sees one!!

    What bass?

    Nearly, not quite

    What bass?

Fret markers along top edge. Pickups appear to have writing on bottom right of case.

    What bass?

Don’t think it’s an MTD but the knob layout is similar

    What bass?

Tricky isn’t it. Reckon it’s something fairly budget given the rig and so on but that’s not meant disrespectfully at all. Wondered about ESP? Not a Sire. Vintage?

  16. I got the fender short scale bag and recently wore my stang all around town for a whole day before a studio sesh in the evening (no way I was leaving it in the car!). Bag was fine, plenty of protection for carrying around and because it’s not a big padded bag it wore like a rucksack, very comfortable. I normally find big gig bags have straps that meet at the top which aren’t comfortable at all.
  17. Superb post Andy! Can you post again showing the long number across the front of the card lol
  18. I think I've got it set in bass mode, mix at 10 o'clock and drive at about 2 o'clock. Palm muting a bit, light touch. I think it works better with a single pickup input. I think it's especially good on the mustang because of the fat fundamental and less overtones.
  19. Ah I did wonder, nope that's the pedal on it's own, into my VB99 which is my audio interface and preamp, which is set pretty flat with a cab sim and slight compressor at the end of the chain
  20. Cheers that was with the 'mix' at 10 O'clock. Seems to be the sweet spot with this bass, so that slaps and pops emerge out of the drive relatively clean. I'll do some other samples with different levels of drive and dynamics.
  21. You can borrow it if you like, I'm not really in a rush to sell it and might not bother actually... let me have your address and I'll send it over
  22. Since listing it I have spent more time with it and cooked up some really nice sounds. It definitely feels more organic and rich than the FI and C4 I had, but the menu system is quite convoluted - it's OK once you're used to it but having not used it for a while I really had to re-learn how it works! Luckily I quite enjoy that sort of thing when I'm in the right mood.
  23. I'd also suggest the Crowther Audio Prunes and Custard - it only does a couple of sounds, but it can sound amazingly synthy. No tracking or latency and because you can blend in some clean mix, and because of the way the filter reacts, you can accentuate certain parts of baselines which poke through the synth sound. It's so natural to play and hugely responsive to touch.. play super light and it's a warm 'whomp', dig in and it splutters. Quick demo here
