1. Yeah, not you I'm probably just having a crap morning! We really do plan to add lots of functionality to the mobile app, however we're upgrading the forum software very soon, and that will have some changes included with it. We'll wait and see, and then adjust as necessary at that point. I agree with all the comments here, although it's important to remember that the mobile version isn't something we have a huge amount of control over, as it's built and designed by our software provider. We know from experience that modifying this can be difficult, and expensive. Cheers ped
  2. Logical debate is one thing - flat out demands are another!
  3.
I know what you mean. There's a lot of work going on over the next couple of months. An enhanced app is on out wish list but we'll be talking about that after we've sorted and upgraded some other areas. Cheers
As I said...
  4. Yup I'm assuming it's everyone, cheers
  5. lol. Yeah... Pizza menus, double glazing...
  6. Lol yep sorry apparently I've fixed part if it.. Should be cool soon.
  7. Wahey my bass is in one of the pics, just http://www.flickr.com/photos/bluejay_my_photos/10052316854/ Thanks Silv, some great pictures of a brilliant bash!
  8.
I beg to differ. I personally find the little blue circle for 'go to first unread post in thread' VERY hard to hit at times. Sometimes I go through 4 or 5 cycles of:

carefully try and and hit the circle
oops I'm at the first page of the thread, must have missed.
scroll down to find the previous page button in safari, hit the button
see the original page but with the loading overlay covering the blue dot
refresh the page to get rid of the overlay
carefully try and hit the circle ....
This gets a bit wearing. Using Talkbass via it's own app (which is essentially Tapatalk) is a joy by comparison. Could we please have Tapatalk enabled for basschat ? OR ... you could enlarge the target area for the 'first unread post' so it's easier to hit. But using an app like Tapatalk is actually much easier for me. (Apologies for cross-post)
I know what you mean. There's a lot of work going on over the next couple of months. 9. Maybe. All I know is that the service is now back online so perhaps any posts made between it going down and coming back won't be 'notified'? We'll have a more detailed look at the weekend. Cheers
  10. Should be fixed now. Just a little tidying up to do. I've told Dood to do it LOL. Cheers
  11. Glad you like it. There is a link with Michael Mcdonald somewhere but I can't remember what it was.
  12. Feel. Anything else is secondary.
  13. Welcome back! Get stuck in!
  14. Well, I've just discovered him and I feel like I've struck GOLD!! My brother sent me this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VItULsOjSd0 Prompting me to check out the bass player. 15.
Haha... Don't get me started.
Personally I find it amazing that there are so many I recognise and how many members have been on the site(s) since the beginning.
  16. I think Basstalk changed to Basschat in March 2008.
  17.
Ah yes, the wayback machine. Access to the Wiki, the Blog, .... More relevant than the current site in many ways.
One of those days again, Pete?
  18. Old Basschat http://web.archive.org/web/20110729233825/http://basschat.co.uk/ I have some screenshots from Basstalk somewhere, including some mock ups we made for the design.

  20. Reasons I've never gone custom: 1 - Communication 2 - Indecisiveness (too many options that I know little about) 3 - Got what I need 'off the shelf' 4 - I like to modify things myself, make it 'mine' and lastly, and most importantly 5 - I'm never sure if I'll 'get on' with the builder. Not that I'm an arsehole or anything but because of stories like this. I'd forever see the bass as a reminder of the process and I'd really struggle to identify with an instrument I had to spend so much time and effort having made, ala Shockwave. Even if the eventual instrument was perfect, it would put me off. As it stands, I've had several communications with the guy who owns Vigier, and it was nice - and that helps me enjoy the instrument and it's 'aura'

    Show us your rig!
my newly assembled EA based rig. i consolidated all my IEM gear into the same rack to save lugging two cases around. i'll probably just use the 2x10 cab for most gigs but it's nice to have more speaker area when / if you need it.
Sweet. Excellent choice of bass, too
